《Hybrids | BTS FF》Chapter-Twenty Four

With one quick glance to the alpha, Jin is sitting up straighter from his seat beside me as he clears his throat with confidence.
"Compared to other stories, mine's not so bad," he starts off with sympathy lacing his tone. "I never knew my parents. I was raised by a woman older than me. She taught me basic life lessons like how to cook and clean – I guess that's why I never had a problem with you."
One glance at me before he's looking back down to his fingers like they're the most interesting thing in the world. "She was a great woman, taught me everything I needed to know and never kept me under restriction. I didn't stick around when she passed. She always used to tell me about the HSC and how she feared they would take me, possibly torture me so when she did eventually die, I never stuck around to find out if that was true or not."
He sighs, shoulders relaxing as he looks back up with a soft smile. "I eventually found Jimin in an alleyway. We had both been in similar situations so we decided to stick together."
He turns his face away so he can try to sneakily wipe a few tears away that had fallen but we'd seen him do it. Jimin pouts from beside me before he is springing up and quite literally flinging himself into his eldest mate's lap causing them both to giggle as Jimin's arms make home around Jin's neck.
Knowing they'd probably want to be together, I shuffle up to take Jimin's old space, leaving room for Jimin to take mine. Seeing the gesture, Jimin smiles gratefully before he carefully manoeuvres himself to sit there all the while still clinging to Jin in some way.
"Should I go next?" Jimin asks with a small smile as he looks around the room.
Seeing no disagreement, Jimin smiles a bit brighter before chirping out a cheery, "okay then."
"As Jin hyung already said, we had quite similar backgrounds which helped us connect more, despite the mate bond we had felt once we first grazed hands," he says with an eye-roll as he looks up at Jin, nuzzling his neck slightly before continuing.
"My owner was a young female full of creativity which helped me explore my own creative side. She helped me find my passion for dance, often taking me to these dance lessons that accepted hybrids. She was full of such potential before she met him." His last word was full of venom, shocking me slightly.
"He made her views change, slowly corrupted her mind with his outrageous beliefs," he scoffs. "He made her believe that hybrids were meant to be slaves, pets even, that were nothing but useless beings to be used. At first she resisted, but then he got violent. He would beat her and then beat me when she wasn't home. Realising her damaged relationship was near unfixable, she kicked me out, blaming me for her failed love life, hoping that It'd all be fixed if I were to leave."

He releases a puff of angered air, rolling his neck which eventually clicks multiple times. "I stayed in an alleyway a couple blocks down before Jin found me."
His tone seems to brighten at the mention of his mate as he looks up at him like a love sick puppy, ironically.
A grin spreads across my own face at the display of affection, the act warming my heart but also breaking it as a sense of longing fills me.
"Jinnie and Jiminie found me and Kook," Hoseok calls out, shattering the previous silence that had blanketed over us. "Maybe I should start off with my story and then Kook can tell his," he suggests warmly with a head tilt, his tiny ears wiggling in his hair slightly.
"I lived with my parents, making me one of the rare hybrids who had the luck of knowing their own flesh and blood. We took residence amongst a pack of stray hybrids who were just trying to survive in the density of the woods. With us not being a part of the pack, we had to forge for our own food with it being hard to come across. We often fed off fish from the river nearby but the food supply was quickly becoming sparse. My parents never told me but I'd overheard them speak about it one day."
He pauses, breathing in deeply as the emotions start to crash through him in tormenting waves. "They'd gone out one day, left to get food but never returned. I stayed for a week, listening to the rumours of how the HSC had taken them but I didn't know what to believe. I eventually came to realise that I didn't really have anything to hold on to and I'd wanted to find my mates so that I could try and settle down with them. It was just luck that I'd stumbled across Kook one night, shivering and scared. I instantly felt a connection towards him and he found it easy to accept me considering that we're both preys."
Hoseok leans over Yoongi to ruffle Kook's hair affectionately causing a grumble to escape the once comfortable man.
Jungkook whines at Hoseok's advance, playfully pushing him away before smoothing out his hair. "Hyung," he softly calls out with a pout. Hoseok just laughs, moving back after threatening to do it again.
Kook turns around in his place on Namjoons lap, happily seated on the elders thick thighs. "I never knew my parents," he bluntly states. "A husky hybrid raised me until I reached fifteen."
He looks off into the distance, seemingly trying to remember his past before releasing a sound of realisation. "I think he found his mate, a woman I think."

He looks cute staring off into the distance, one fluffy ear raised and the other hanging to the side of his head. "I found it hard to find my own food which led to a deterioration of health. I was lucky that Hoseok found me when he did because I'd probably be dead by now if he hadn't."
If it was something I didn't expect from the bunny hybrid, it would be his emotionless bluntness. It shocked me to a degree and so to the others as a couple distressed whines ring out of some, even the alpha who moves to scent the boy's neck with vigour.
Yoongi cuts the tension with a cough as he looks around with sleepy eyes and yawns. "Is it my turn?" with a shrug of the shoulders, Yoongi takes that as a yes as he straightened himself up.
"I didn't know much growing up. I was conditioned to be anothers slave who would serve and live for the purpose of their master. I was specifically trained to fight against others. It didn't take long until I was sold to the highest bidder," he scoffs with an eye-roll.
"I was sold to a guy who had already owned multiple hybrids, got them killed during underground fights. He liked to torture his hybrids, he didn't care if they died. The ring was where I met Joon. We were scheduled to have a fight until all hell broke loose."
He turns to face Namjoon, nodding at him before falling to lay comfortably on Hoseok's shoulder, his eyes closing.
"I guess I should finish his story then," he says with a sigh before mumbling something in Kook's ear.
Jungkook pouts in half-hearted anger before he is doing miniature stomps towards where Tae sat on the love seat, plopping down onto his lap like he owned it.
A small laugh escapes me, covering it up with a cough as I turn my attention back to Namjoon opposite me. "My story is the same as Yoongi's so I won't bother explaining it again. That night we were set to fight each other, a riot broke out among the other hybrids. One started and others followed. Cages were suddenly being unlocked and we were free. We had touched hands, felt the sparks and then left together," he says with a shrug like it's nothing.
He remains adamant in not saying anything else so all of our attention turns to Tae who is softly running his fingers through Kook's long locks, stopping to scratch at the base of his ears every so often.
Feeling the eyes on him, he looks up to see us all looking at him. It startles him slightly, his hand stopping in Kook's hair before moving again as he whispers soft apologies into the bunnies ear.
"I guess I'm the last one," he mutters out.
He seems nervous as his hands shake slightly, the tremors being slightly hidden in Kook's hair. "I was also one of the rare ones who knew their parents, but they didn't leave me, instead I was ripped from them once I had turned ten. I don't really remember them," he tells us softly with teary eyes.
"I wish I did but I don't think that I'll ever get to, it's too late now," he convinces himself with a shake of the head.
Breathing in deeply, he stables his racing heart slightly before continuing. "I was placed into a breeding farm where I was expected to breed with other tiger hybrids. I know that I've had successful attempts and failed attempts. During my years there, I have lost over a hundred children and seen twelve being born to which only half survived. I-"
He stops, words stuck in his throat as he looks up at me through wet lashes. "I-I killed someone," he softly reveals, causing me to gasp; not in shock but in sadness. "I had no choice."
I move forward, feeling like it's my turn to console him as I pull him into a half-hug, being mindful of the peaceful bunny on his lap. "You did what you had to," I muttered into his hair, softly kissing the crown once before pulling back.
I softly remove his tears with my hands, causing a small smile to bloom across quivering lips.
"Thank you," he mutters softly.
I just smile before stepping back to sit on the sofa again. Exhaustion seems to crash into us all from the hectic day we'd had with the emotional talk topping it all off.
Jin is the first to stand with a sleepy Jimin clinging to him like a koala on his hip, his head buried into the elders neck comfortably. "I think we should all go to bed now," he softly announces.
I look around, taking in all the red rimmed eyes that surround me, knowing that mine must be just as bad.
I rush to stand up, picking up the forgotten pharmacy bag before uttering a soft goodnight and swiftly exiting the room again with no one there to hold me back.
