Lloyd stared off into the distance as the sun set over Hiroshi's Labyrinth. Thinking as he ate candies.
"Who does he even think he is?" A ginger haired boy with glasses spat as his friends pushed Lloyd to the ground, "The son of LORD GARMADON? Please, more like the son of some useless street trash."
"Why do you hate me anyway? I've never done anything to you Gene."
"That's the thing Lloyd, you're the son of a powerful, EVIL, Lord, and you can't even pull a prank, or shoplift an apple!"
"I... I can too!"
"Shut up, everyone knows you can't"
With that Lloyd was pulled off the ground and shoved into a wall. "Stop it!"
Lloyd shuddered at the memory, and placed his hand on his shoulder, remembering what had happened that day. A scar would be there to always remind him. He shoved some candy into his mouth. "Stupid Gene..." He shoved the res of his candy into his pocket and headed to the lower deck, to get ready for bed.
---------
Lloyd slowly woke up and looked around. Another fracking helicopter. "DAAAAD!" He yelled as he tried to get up, tied to the seat.
"Good Morning Lloyd." Garmadon spoke as he turned a page in a book he was reading.
"Let me go." Lloyd grumbled as he tried to get out of the ropes.
"You're only tied up because you jumped out last time, I thought you were dead."
"I want to go home!"
"We're going home, you're going to love the underworld-"
"NO!" Lloyd shouted. "I want to go HOME!" Lloyd began to cry. "Want to go back to the Bounty!" The teary eyed boy glared at his father. "You left, Mom left, The boarding school I was sent to kicked me out, the only people who haven't left me are on the Bounty, are at my home."

"Lloyd-"
"Family means that nobody gets left behind, nobody gets forgotten, The Ninja, Uncle Wu, and Nya, are MY FAMILY!" The boy yelled as green light blasted around him. "LET ME GO HOME!" The ropes that tied him down, burned up. "I, was left behind! I, was forgotten!" His eyes flashed a bright green. "Why can't you see that I don't want to go with you!?" He looked his father in the eye. "If you don't tell whatever skeleton is driving this helicopter to turn around and take me back to the Bounty RIGHT NOW, I will jump out again!"
"Lloyd-"
"Don't test me Dad!"
---------
Lloyd hopped out of the helicopter, followed by his father, onto the deck of The Bounty just as the ninja were climbing up from below. "Lloyd!" The four exclaimed.
Kai glared at Garmadon. "Why are you here?"
Lloyd walked over to the ninja as Garmadon spoke. "Take... Take care of my son." The terrifying four armed man spoke, his voice cracking as though he was about to cry. "If you don't I'll kill all of you."

Wolf's Oath Book 1: Oath Sworn
In Aralt ‘Wolf” syr Tremayne’s world, skyships sail above tidal extremes, crystal swords are Tuned, and the soul-touched inspire both awe and fear. Lian Kynsei’s arrival upends Aralt’s life, but there is nothing he can do about it. Oath-bound to Lian, the last of a priestly clan, he is now defender of the scion of a faith he no longer shares. But the boy Aralt once knew is gone. In his place is a reckless, traumatized teen who can light the sky on fire. The more they get reacquainted, the less Aralt likes him—and the feeling is mutual. As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
