《feeling grey. [lloyd garmadon]》[ten]

"This is useless!" Kai says, pouring another bucket full of water out the massive hole of the ship. "We're just drifting aimlessly, we'll never get to the Dark Island."
"Patience, Kai," Misako says. "We know someone is bound to happen, it is foretold."
As if on queue, Zane drops the bucket and gasps.
"What is it, Zane?" Wu asks, his voice full of concern for him.
"I-I sense something," Zane says, looking out at the sea.
"Is it the falcon? Is he alright?" Cole asks.
"No, it's something else," he says, peaking his head out to see ahead of us. "Brace yourselves!"
The ship runs into a rock or something, causing us to lose our balance, almost falling over.
We exit the ship and walk onto the small island.
"What is this?" Lloyd asks, wondering out loud.
"It looks like a prison," Zane says, beginning to climb the many steps.
We finally reach the top, a small camera greeting us at the door.
"Should we smile?" Jay jokes.
The door opens, and an old man wearing a lab coat appears.
"Zane!" The man exclaims, walking out and hugging a bewildered Zane.
"Uh, do you know him?" Lloyd asks.
"Of course I know him! I built him!" The man says.
"I always forget he's a nindroid," I say, muttering to Cole.
"I still can't wrap my head around it," he whispers back.
"But...my memory tells me that you have passed," Zane says.
Something growls in the distance, worrying me.
"Quickly, everyone inside," Zane's father says, ushering us inside.
The old man locks the door, barricades it, and locks it again.
Bit paranoid, huh?
"I bet those sea robbers are tough," I whisper to Lloyd. He smirks, the left side of his mouth twisting upwards.
"Please, have a seat!" Zane's father says.
"Where?" Zane asks. His father pulls a switch and the light in the middle of the room goes into the floor, flips, and becomes a table.
"Wow, that's pretty handy!" Nya says.

"A technical wizard," Cole says, taking a seat between me and Kai.
Zane's father presses another button, and a small robot holding several teacups rolls out. It travels to us and hops on the table, giving each of us a cup then filling it with tea.
"Father, I saw you pass. What happened?" Zane asks. Zane's father explains everything, including the growl I heard from earlier.
"A Leviathan? That's what we heard earlier?" Lloyd asks. Zane's father nods.
"Yes," he says. He sighs and turns to Zane. "I was gone for so long I was worried you wouldn't want to see me again."
"Don't worry, Father. We'll get you out of here," Zane reassures him.
"Do you think you could repair the rocket boosters on our ship?" Jay asks, pointing to the Bounty.
"That ship has rocket boosters?" Zane's father exclaims excitedly.
"Well the engines are down," Nya says.
"No matter! I'll help fix your ship," he says. "But we have to work quickly, before-"
Zane's father was interrupted by the Leviathan growling once again.
"Quick! Everyone, hide!"
I back into a wall, running into Lloyd. We quickly squeeze in between two shelves. I could feel his breath on my cheek as he peers over my shoulder to get a look of the monster.
I could feel my heart beating fast. I'm not sure if it was because of the Leviathan or the close proximity I was to Lloyd. Probably a mixture of both. I've been close to Lloyd before, but this felt...different. Probably because we were trying not to die.
"Don't make a sound," Zane's father whispers.
Lloyd senses my uneasiness and squeezes my hand, reassuring me.
We watch as the monster sticks it's head through the window, checking around for any people. It hesitantly leaves, going back into the ocean.
Everyone comes out of their hiding place and walks towards the center of the room.
"We need to hurry before that thing comes back," Kai says. Everyone nods and we rush outside to fix the Bounty.
-
We finally finish fixing the Bounty. Night had fallen, and we were standing outside admiring our work. Zane and his father were inside the prison, catching up I suppose.

A loud growl is heard, the sound causing ripples in the ocean.
"Oh no..." I mumble.
"Everyone, hurry! It's here!" Zane's father says, running down the steps.
"Get us out of here, Nya!" Jay says. She nods and runs onto the ship, everyone trailing behind her.
She jumps to the wheel and the Bounty begins to fly upwards, but the Leviathan was not having it.
It grabs onto the ship, tipping us downwards, causing us to all slide into each other.
"Lloyd, your powers!" Sensei Wu shouts. Lloyd nods and releases a sphere of green light, surrounding the ship in it. The monster's tentacles let go for a moment, and we almost get away.
Zane looks over board and jumps.
"Zane, no!" His father shouts.
Whatever Zane was doing, it didn't do anything. The Leviathan continued to pull on the ship, and we began to get pulled underwater.
But suddenly, it releases us.
"It let us go?" Cole murmurs.
"When Zane released it, it must've let us go too!" Lloyd says.
Zane climbs on board, and his father rushes to hug him tightly.
"How did you know that if freeing it, it would let us go?" Sensei asks.
"Because no one deserves to be held captive," Zane says, looking out into the distance.
The Leviathan sticks his head out of the water, blinking happily.
"Huh, kinda cute," I say.
"I wouldn't go that far," Cole mutters.
We watch as it swims way, the sun rising in the horizon.
Kai groans. "I feel like I've been awake for two weeks straight."
"We probably have," I say.
"We should all get some rest," Sensei says. "We'll arrive at the Dark Island tomorrow, and everyone will need to be well rested."
Everyone nods and heads to their respected rooms.
"I wanna take a shower," I say, groaning and trying to brush out my ratty hair.
"None of has taken one in days, and we've all been drenched from the ocean," Zane says.
"I've forgotten what it's like to feel clean, to sleep on a normal bed, to have my own room," Jay says dramatically.
"I have my own room," I tease.
"Shut the hell up," Jay growls.
"Saving the world comes with a price," Lloyd says, smiling.
"And it's definitely worth it," Cole adds.
-
I couldn't sleep that night, I was just too restless. I wanted more than ever for Lloyd to be in my bed next to me, but we agreed that we couldn't risk it every night. We're not afraid of Sensei Wu, I think he's just nervous on what his mom would say. I don't really know why, I mean, is she really allowed to parent him? We're not teenagers anymore either.
If it were up to me, I'd have him sleeping with me every night. I've noticed he helps to calm my nightmares, but I suppose I shouldn't depend on him.
There was no way in hell I was going to sneak into his room, though, not with all the guys there. Besides, when have I ever depended on a boy? I shake my head, this isn't the El I used to be. But I couldn't help but welcome the changes, I was a lot happier now than I was merely a year ago. Thanks to Lloyd and the others, of course.
I turn over in my bed, hoping to fall asleep peacefully. Sleep came eventually, but peaceful sleep? Never.
-
I stare at the three orange lilies in my hands, dreading the walk to the cemetery.
But I walk there, alone.
I was the only one left.
I place one lily on each tombstone, tears threatening to spill.
"I'm leaving," I say aloud.
"I can't be here anymore. I'm sorry."
I sit across from Tobi's grave, tears streaming down my cheeks.
"I'm-I'm going to move to Ninjago. Just like we always wanted. You should be with me."
"You should be the one moving, not me," I whisper.
"I'm sorry, Tobi. It's all my fault."
