《Adopted By My Chemical Romance》Chapter 27

I saw her hooked up to the machines that were keeping her alive. Her organs failing to keep up. Her body not as thin as the day she left but her face as beautiful as it could ever be. Slowly disappearing. Mikey and Gerard stood slightly behind me in each other's arms and Ray in the corner.
She'd walked into the road and a car had hit her after an argument with Mikey and Ray. That was my girl and now she was disappearing. I just wanted her to fight but could she?
The monitor went off. Her heart was failing. Doctors filled the room and Gerard said something but I didn't hear what he said. Mikey grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room. My heart had finally been broken again and my worst dreams had finally come true. I couldn't do anything left to save her. My last young renegade heartache was going to go.

I felt Gerard's rough hands nudging me awake. I slowly opened my eyelids to his brightly coloured hair kneeling in front of me.
"It's your turn. I'm sorry Frank." Gerard choked out.
"Why are you sorry?" I asked before realising. My eyes went wide.
"She's gone Frank. Her heart gave out half an hour ago. They've done everything they can and Lyn-Z has left me too. She's packing up her stuff and now it's only me and Bandit." Gerard answered as his eyes started welling up with tears. I pulled him into a tight hug whilst the others slept on their chairs.
"Everything is going to be okay Gee." I sobbed into his shoulder.
"You go see her. Please just go and see her. It's your last chance. I'll wake up the others whilst you say your goodbyes." Gerard whispered in my ear. I pulled away from the hug and wiped away the tears with the palm of my hands. I hesitantly walked down to the hospital room that she was in. The door was slightly ajar and no other person was in the room. As I entered her room I felt a burden enter my soul and a break in my heart. Her mermaid hair was still plaited but the clothes she was in were blood stained. Her piercings shining in the light. The machines were switched off. She was gone. I sat down in the chair next to her bed and took her hand that was slowly getting colder. I started crying again.

"I'm sorry Jade. I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you. I'm sorry that reckless driver hit you. I'm sorry you never got better. I'm so sorry..." I sobbed. I rubbed my thumb over her hand. I looked out the window of her room that went back into the hospital. Standing there was Mikey and Ray with Bandit crying into Gerard's shoulder. I beckoned them in. They all sat around the bed and I took Bandit on my lap who cried into my shoulder. I rubbed her back slowly to comfort her.
"I took the supermarket flowers from the windowsill
I threw the day old tea from the cup
Packed up the photo album Matthew had made
Memories of a life that's been loved
Took the get well soon cards and stuffed animals
Poured the old ginger beer down the sink
Dad always told me, "don't you cry when you're down"
But mum, there's a tear every time that I blink
Oh I'm in pieces, it's tearing me up, but I know
A heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved
So I'll sing Hallelujah
You were an angel in the shape of my mum
When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go
And when God takes you back we'll say Hallelujah
You're home
I fluffed the pillows, made the beds, stacked the chairs up
Folded your nightgowns neatly in a case
John says he'd drive then put his hand on my cheek
And wiped a tear from the side of my face
I hope that I see the world as you did cause I know
A life with love is a life that's been lived
So I'll sing Hallelujah
You were an angel in the shape of my mum
When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go
And when God takes you back we'll say Hallelujah
You're home
Hallelujah
You were an angel in the shape of my mum
You got to see the person that I have become
Spread your wing
And I know that when God took you back he said Hallelujah
You're home." I sang as we all began sobbing at her leaving us. Nobody should experience this. We'd lost a sister and a daughter. This was something terrible.

The Way of Wrought Earth, or: My Tale of Rebirth as a Mostly Inanimate Rock
Mirage Winter. Second Clause, current act. A Relic Hunter's life is harsh — and often short — in the shattered lands of the Frontier. Josh found out where Evie was hinding after weeks if not months. He told Ashton where she was and they went to her hometown."Ashton?" Ashton says almost breathlessly, as if he's in shock from seeing me."Let go of me." I spit out, trying to keep the anger in front of the hurt."I can't." He whispers."Well you need to. I thought I made it clear last time, we are done." I say heatedly, anger and hurt crashing through me.Ashton closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, "I'm sorry," he whispers, "but I have to."Panic flirts through me, "Have to what?"Ashton leans down and puts his lips against my neck and starts kissing softly. Heat floods through me and chases away any panic, anger or hurt. I feel my body lean into his embrace and can't help but feel like I should never move from his arms."I'm sorry." Ashton whispers against my neck. Before I can say anything, I feel his teeth against my neck.
