《The Nanny》Chapter Twelve

I have so much work to do, every minute, work just piles up. Not to forget the problem that has occurred in the UK branch. I don't know why I hire so many people, when they can't even do their jobs. I have to go to London, in three days time, and sort out the issue. I have to do everything my self, to get it done well. A notification pops up on my screen, it's Layla.
Layla: The school meeting is today, it's at 4:00 o'clock.
I check my watch and it read, 3:40. I completely forgot about the meeting, with all that's been going on in the office. Regardless of it all I have to go for that meeting. I rushed out of my office and headed for the elevator, my assistant ran after me."Sir! You have a meeting with the shareholders at 4:30 pm," she said.
"Reschedule it," I replied and pressed the elevator button.
"Sir you do realize that's it's the second time you rescheduled this meeting. They have grown impatient, I have been receiving many complaints through emails and phone calls," she spoke, frantically.
"Reschedule the meeting for tomorrow morning at 10:00 o'clock. Do your job and try to convince them. Must I do everything around here?" The elevator doors open and I get in.
"But Sir..."
"Do your job." The elevator door closes. My phone started ringing, it's Layla. I pick up the phone, and she greeted me.
"Where are you sir?" She asked, sounding rather worried.
"I am own my way," I replied.
"The meeting is about to start," she said.
"Okay I'll see you there,"I said and hang up. The elevator doors open. I walk out of the building and quickly get into my car. I instructed the chauffeur, to drive as fast as he could.

"Is uncle Ahmed going to come for the meeting?" The tenth time he asked me, since we left home.
"Yes he is. I just called him, he is on his way," I told him. "How about you go play with your friends."'
"Okay," he said and ran off to the playground. I stood outside, waiting for Mr Ahmed. I am sure he doesn't know Imad's classroom. After twenty minutes of waiting — which means I too am now late for the meeting. A black Range Rover entres the drive through. It's Mr Ahmed's car, he comes out of the car and walks towards the entrance where I am standing.
"Assalam alaykum," I greet him.
"Walaykum salam," he replies, in a low tone.
"You're late," I told him and started walking. He didn't say anything, which was odd. Mr Ahmed walked alongside me, looking around the school. It had occurred to me, it was his first time here... We enter the class room, for a split second it felt like all eyes were on us. I have never sat next to him, I thought as we sat down. Definitely not one of my greatest experience, the most awkward moment in my life. I couldn't move, nor sit freely. I felt caged.
Imad's class teacher started talking about the new school program (that started a few months ago) and the kids responsiveness towards it. Mr Ahmed abruptly interjected. "What about bullies?" He asked. Oh no...
"Sir follow up questions or any type of questions will be answered at the end of the talk," she told him.
"Do the bullies ever face consequences," he spoke, this time his tone higher than hers. All the parents turned to look at him. I looked down at the floor and died a little of embarrassment. Though I can't blame him, he has never been to a school meeting before.

"Sir I said you can ask your question at the end of my talk," she spoke, sounding rather infuriated.
"Do they?" He asked, not caring a word the teacher said.
"There is a consequence, they get a time out. We only hope they grow out of their churlish behavior with time. As they are only children," she explained.
"Thank you," he said and stood up. He walked out of the classroom - I felt the need to apologize on behalf of him, so I did. I went after him.
"Sir, the meeting isn't over," I said trying to catch up with him.
"I have heard enough to make my decision," he says — walking really fast.
"What are you talking about?" I asked. He stopped walking, turned around and looked at me.
"Imad will get transferred to another school. A school where bullying is unacceptable," he said, in a firm tone.
"I don't understand."
"He is being bullied here. It's not a good environment for him to grow up in."
"So every time he comes home crying, because of something some kid said. You are going to move him to another school? How is he going to learn to conquer his life? Money isn't always the answer."
"It's not about money. It's about my nephew's well being as a child, he is bruised enough as it is. Being bullied will only make it worse," Mr Ahmed spoke, assertively.
"Only if he never stands up to his bully. They're bad people out there, it's how you deal with them that matters. Is this how you want him to face every problem he has, to run away from them?" I tried to explain.
"My decision is final," he said and walked away. This can't be happening.
My phone started ringing, it's Mr Ahmed?
"Hello?" I said.
"I am taking Imad home," he said and hang up.
I guess I'll be taking the bus. How will I explain to Imad that he will have to go to another school. He just started liking school, trying to convince him that going to another school is cool, will be a challange.
