Chapter 12
This is one of my longest chapters, enjoy ^.^
Harry's POV
~~hours later~~
We're almost ready for the concert, the reason I say "almost" is because we haven't left the hotel yet, Niall is being an idiot, and won't listen to a thing Liam is saying. He just got out of the shower and put his boxers on, and is running up and down the hallway screaming "I'm a big fat idiot!" Liam's told him several times if he doesn't get dressed we'll be late. I don't think Niall cares, it's all fun and games with that guy.
"I'm not kidding, put your pants on or we might just leave without you" Liam scowled, tossing Niall's pants on the ground.
"Nah you wouldn't leave without me, you guys would miss me too much" Niall laughed, pinching Liam's cheek, then whining when he got his hand slapped.
"I'm serious! Get dressed, what is with you? You're just as bad as Harry, or worse" Liam sighed shaking his head.
"Hey, at least I'm wearing pants" I said, while slipping on my shoes.
"True" Liam said, rolling his eyes.
"Guys I really don't want to be late again, hurry up" Zayn whined, coming out of the bathroom with a tube of toothpaste in hand, and a toothbrush in his mouth.
I quietly chuckled to myself as walked down the hall and into my bedroom, Louis and I shared a room but even sense he's been mad at me he's been sleeping on the couch. I'd have to say I'm quite upset, but he probably wouldn't care even if he knew.
I stood in front of my dresser, I yanked the top drawer open and dug around for a different shirt, I wouldn't mind wearing the jacket I had on, that is, if it wasn't covered in tomato sauce, earlier Niall got in a food fight with Zayn and it didn't end well, let's just say Liam won't ever allow Niall to eat spaghetti again after the mess they made in the kitchen.
I pulled out a sweater and took off the shirt I was wearing, I sighed as I glanced at the cuts on my arms, I wish I hadn't gotten into the habit of doing this again...but it's too late to turn back now.
I laid my sweater on the bed, then threw my jacket in a laundry basket close by. As I was changing, I heard the door creaking, I whirled around and saw Louis standing there, resting his head on the door and staring at me. Great, had he seen the cuts on my arms?

"Hi" he said, biting his lip and looking at his feet.
"Hiii" I whispered, still not quite sure if he'd seen anything but he didn't ask, so hopefully not.
"You coming?" He asked, tilting his head.
"Yeah, I was just changing" I mumbled, running my fingers through my hair.
He said "ok" and waited for me, I nodded and walked over to him.
"Why are you wearing that?" He questioned, looking at me strangely.
"Wearing what?" I asked, looking down at my outfit.
"That" he brought his fingers up and tugged on the collar of my sweater and laughed a little.
"I like it..." I muttered, pulling my sleeves over my hands.
"Yeah but it's hot out-"
I cut him off before he could finish,
"I'm cold" I lied, of course I wasn't cold, I was practically melting it was so hot but I wasn't going to admit it.
Louis looked concerned and felt my forehead, "are you sick?"
"N-no...I'm fine Louis, really"
"You sure?"
"Yeah 'm sure"
"Ok then..."
~~a few minutes before the concert~~
Ok so for some strange reason I'm having a major panic attack, I don't know why, I never get this nervous before going on stage, I think it could be any number of things, stress, tiredness, and most of all I just have this really weird feeling the fans know something's up, I can't be quite sure though.
We're all backstage at the moment, and Liam's asking Zayn what songs we should sing, Niall's running around like a mad man, and I don't know where Louis has gotten to. I tried to ask Liam but he brushed me off telling me to "annoy someone else" I walked around a bit then saw Louis waiting by the exit, "what is he doing over there?" I wondered. I was about to yell at him and ask what the heck he was doing over there, when a girl walked up to him, I soon noticed that girl was Eleanor... I ran over and hid behind a wall, I watched him give her a hug, followed by a kiss, that lasted too long if you ask me... I tried to listen to what they were saying, but there were so many screaming girls I could barley hear a thing.
"I hope I don't mess up, this is one of our biggest concerts and I just-"

"Don't worry babe, you'll do fine, you're amazing"
Eleanor said "good luck" kissed Louis once more, then ran off to find a seat.
Louis began making his way up the steps and walked right past me, thankfully.
"Ok boys it's show time" Paul grinned, clapping his hands.
The five of us nodded.
We sang a few songs, Best Song Ever, Midnight Memories, Strong, and Kiss You, requested by our fans. They asked us to sing Happily, I nodded to myself and waited for the music to start up. I walked around the stage, staring out at the many squealing girls calling my name, but I wasn't looking at them, I noticed Eleanor was seated in the front row, clapping her hands and smiling. She's so lucky to have Louis, this sounds crazy but, I'd do anything to be her if it meant Louis would love me, I know he's probably lost all the feeling he had for me when we were younger...I can tell he loves Eleanor just by the way he looks at her, what's sad is he used to look at me that way, then she comes along and I get replaced...
"Harry, start singing" Niall yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts, I nodded giving him a "thumbs up"
I began singing and stared right at Eleanor.
"You don't understand, you don't understand, what you do to me when you hold his hand...." I wiped a few tears from my eyes and continued, this time glancing at Louis,
"We were meant to be but a twist of fate made it so we had to walk away..."
He noticed me looking at him and quickly turned away.
~~after the concert~~
"You guys are the best fans in the world, we love you, thank you!" Liam shouted, before leaving the stage with the rest of us, we had huge smiles on our faces, all except me and Louis. I hope I hadn't upset him again...it seems like all I have to do is look at the guy and he gets offended...
I stuffed my hands into my pockets and followed the boys into our dressing room, so we could get changed. As I was taking my clothes from the clothes rack, Niall ran up behind me and tapped on my shoulder.
"Hey" he grinned.
"Um hi, is there something you needed?" I asked, grabbing my shirt.
"Are you ok? Cause you were getting all emotional on stage, it was kinda funny if you ask me" he snickered, and poked me.
I could feel my face turning red, "no I wasn't, I had something in my eye" I huffed, snatching my converse off a chair and walking to bathroom, Niall close behind.
"Sure ya did" Niall smirked, crossing his arms.
"Stoooop it" I whined before slamming the door, Niall laughed and ran away. Ugh he's SO annoying...why can't he just leave me alone? The second I thought that, he was back banging on the door screaming something about Zayn trying to kill him because he put syrup in his shampoo bottle.
"C'mon man let me in! It's a matter of life or death" Niall pouted, pounding on the door frantically.
"Nope, you know what happens when you mess with Zayn's stuff," I smirked, while pulling on my sweater.
"I'm serious bro, let me in or else!"
"Nope"
I heard Niall screaming and Zayn yelling at him, then one of them got slapped and they went crying to Liam, blaming each other.
I chuckled and slipped on my jeans, then put my shoes on as well.
I stepped out of the bathroom, carrying my clothes, I placed them on the clothes rack then ran over to Liam and the boys.
Liam: "Niall I said stop!"
Niall: "hey don't blame me bro he started it"
Zayn: ""I did NOT, he put syrup in my shampoo!"
Liam:" Niaaaall"
Niall: "aha hahahahaha!"
Liam rolled his eyes, "c'mon guys, let's go back to the hotel and get something to eat, I'm starving. We all nodded and followed Liam outside to the bus, once inside I hopped on the seat closest to the window, I glanced out the window and saw Louis, walking as slow as possible, with his hands in his pockets and his head down.
"You coming, Louis?" Liam shouted.
Louis simply nodded and walked up to the bus, he climbed on then said he needed to be alone and went into the bedroom.
"What's up with him" Niall asked, pointing.
"I-I don't know" I replied, looking in Louis's direction as he shut himself in the bedroom. I hope he's ok...

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.
