《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 2

I pulled back the curtain and stared out at them. They were holding hands and Autumn was laughing at something Jeremiah said. She was happy, and I was miserable, I've stayed in the pack since she rejected me. I watched her all the time, hoping she'd see the pain she was putting me through and find her way back to me, but she didn't. For three years I had to watch them fall deeper and deeper in love with each other.
Autumn was a rogue abandoned by her family. I found her half-dead near a quarry; we recognised each other for what we were, and I brought her back, I saved her life and she still chose him! My darling next in line to be Alpha brother. Three years! They've been hurting me for three years; he's been betraying me for three years.
I growled and dropped the veil between us so I could no longer see their love. Angrily, I ripped open my bedroom door and stormed into my brother's office where my parents were currently working in. They helped my brother with the paperwork since he was too stupid to do simple tasks. They looked surprised at my outburst, but I turned to them and announced my business.
"I'm leaving. Well, I'm transferring to the Indigo Paw Pack. Tomorrow morning."
"Wh-what?" came my mother's shocked reply.
"I have to go, I can't stand to see them together any longer. It is ripping me apart from the inside out. My wolf is two clicks away from being feral, and he's gunning for Jeremiah's head. I can no longer shift in fear that he will take over. I mean, for god's sake, they are expecting a child. What am I supposed to do, play uncle to the kid that should be mine?" I said, my voice getting increasingly louder.

"Of course, not Jer wouldn't expect you to." Said my dad in a deflated tone.
"I don't care what he expects, does he really care if I stay? He wanted me to bolt after the first year, but I just kept hoping. I'm a fool!" I said, running my hands through my hair. My mom walked over and placed her arms around me, I hugged her back and sighed.
"I'm so sorry Jerome, so, so sorry this happened to you." I smiled and looked at her. My heart was breaking with every breath and she could see it. Any love I had died the minute she rejected me, now I'm an emotionless corpse of pain.
"I think actually I will leave tonight." I said kissing her on the head.
"Go where?" A voice said from behind me, a voice that caused my entire body to tense with rage. I turned to see my brother and Autumn standing behind me. I looked down; she was already showing. My eyes threatened to water, but I wouldn't allow it. I fixed my glare on my traitorous brother.
"I'm transferring packs." I said icily. His face looked shocked as did Autumn's.
"What why?" he asked stupidly causing me to laugh humourlessly. I shot out such a look of anger I heard his heart stutter. I lunged at him throwing all my weight into the attack we stumbled into the hall and I slammed him into the wall my hands enclosed around his throat and he started spluttering.
"Really, you're going to ask me that. Because of YOU AND HER!" I yelled "So I don't have to watch the two of you parade around the place like nothing happened, like you didn't stab me in the back. I wish you a lifetime of pain and suffering. I hate you with every cell in my body, we both know I would be the better Alpha, the better mate, the better man! I'm stronger than you, I'm smarter than you. Just better. I promise if it wasn't for her, I would have ripped your heart out and watch you as you die." I snarled.

"I-if that were true then she'd be yours. Instead, she loves me, she's carrying my child and we're in love. She loves me and she's never g-going to accept you." He spat his voice was strangled because I was cutting off his air supply. My vision was clouded by rage, I was feral. I hit him in the face, he tried pushing me back, but he wasn't strong enough, I hit him again and again Autumn was yelling at me to stop but I snarled in her direction and she backed off. I pulled him forward and slammed him back into the wall the sounds of the wall cracking filled the air. I slammed my hand into his chest, my hand grasped his heart and the fear that shot through his eyes made my day I smirked at him. My dad placed a hand on my shoulder I glanced at him he shook his head angst swimming in his eyes. I had his life in my hands, and I was one move away from ending my pain.
"I could kill you; I mean, if I apply the slightest bit of pressure and you'd-"
"Ah!" He screamed out his eyes watered slightly; his face was already deathly pale.
"Well, you get the picture," I said laughing "If it wasn't for mother and father I'd rip this from your chest," I growled as I let go of his life force and pulled my hand out of his thoracic cavity my hand was dripping in his blood I flicked my hand his blood splattered against the floor. "Watch me leave Jeremiah, maybe you could dig the knife out of my back." I fumed as I turned towards my family. They were staring with wide-eyed. Autumn was crying, I turned to her. "What still not good enough for you, princess?" I laughed, my sanity was slowly bleeding out from me and they were watching it happen.
"I'm glad I'm leaving you to know why. I no longer have to watch you screw your way to the top like a power-hungry bitch." I said, glaring at her.
"Oh, and be careful, there's blood there... wouldn't want somebody to slip." I laughed as I made my way back to my room to pack.

There is a common line of questioning that falls upon students within their first moments at Kingsly. “Why?”. The student asks, “Why am I here?”. This is a futile line of questioning. There are those who remember, and those who do not. I’ll spare you the technical explanation — that’s what we have teachers for. The jist is as follows: those who remember are... how do I put this... more likely. They occupy more time. and the space that time has allowed them — the pertinent amount — is experienced no matter what. Allow me to offer you a bit of personal information: I am not one who remembers. There is no time relevant to me, no space that I occupy. I exist by carving myself here, and continue to exist in the same fashion. You would do well to follow suit. Why am I here? Because I force myself to be. Because the universe, the universes, for all its kicking and screaming, cannot escort me out.
