《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 21

I watched him excel in all of his fights; he had my wolf howling with pride as he successfully took down each of his opponents. I watched his brother carefully, still not trusting him. His face was prideful as he watched his brother send out a deadly hit. He sure looks sincere.
"Should we trust him?" My wolf asked skeptically.
"I don't know Sydney." I answered back. She shook out her fur and retreated back into my mind. Leaving me with the decision. I rolled my eyes, typical!

Soon enough the trials were over, and I had to gain everyone's attention
"Okay!! Everyone stop." I yelled, watching as everyone stilled.
"Your scores are up. The top four will fight each other securing their place in the pack, the top two will continue as higher ranked officers." I announced, sending a proud smile towards Jerome.
Once Donte and Reagan had taken their places I took this as my opportunity to talk to Jerome.
"You did well." I beamed, causing him to stare at me pointedly.
"Did you ever doubt I wouldn't?" He asked, amusement in his tone. I laughed and shook my head.
"Not for a second." I mumbled, brushing my hand against his. He looked down before interlocking our pinky fingers together. I watched the fight unfold with a grin on my face.
Donte had won, meaning he was now in second place. Jerome congratulated him on his win briefly before he took his place. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I whizzed around to see Seth and Eva; I pulled Eva into me, linking her arms through mine.
"He's going to win." She laughed. I scoffed.
"Oh, I know that. I'm just excited." I grinned. I turned to Seth, forgetting to ask him about this earlier. "Will you go and help the warriors escort the losing members off the premises?" He smiled at me.
"Of course."
"Oh, and be careful. They tend to get agitated." He nodded and left.
I watched him marvelling at how good he looked every punch, every step he makes look utterly graceful. He managed to pin Samuel. He thrashed violently underneath him. He was yelling and screaming for Jerome to let go. Until suddenly he shifted. His wolf lashed out at Jerome clawing at him with his sharpened claws he caught Jerome's faces cutting deeply down the side of his face.
"No!" I screamed as Samuel bit down on his shoulder, I heard the dissatisfying pop as his shoulder was violently ripped out of place. Some jumped up to restrain Samuel, I however was focused on Jerome. He lay on the floor, not moving. I jumped up onto the stage as I pulled him up against me. Tears were flowing freely from down my face. He had a deep claw mark down his chest all the way to his stomach. That was bleeding too quickly.

"No, no, no!" I yelled as his eyes began to closed
"Someone help me!" I cried, sobbing into Jerome's chest. His blood stained my shirt, but I didn't care. Jeremiah ran over to him and helped pick him up along with Donte. I was a mess. No way was I losing a second mate.
"Tommy meet me at the hospital. Now!" I ordered through our link, leaving no room for arguments. I turned to Samuel. My body filled with a dark rage, I could hear my blood pumping through my body as I clenched my fist. I snarled at him causing the people who were restraining him to look at me, they sensed my anger, my hurt, they knew this wasn't going to end well for Samuel. He was in human form now. So what I did next was easier. I used my wolf speed to rush over to him. Using the element of surprise I slammed my hand into his chest, I gripped his heart squeezing it as hard as I could. He cried out in agony before I ripped it from his chest. I heard a few collective gasps. Before I heard Brent speak up.
"Bridget?" He said I glanced at him, my body shaking with rage. I dropped his heart and wiped my hand on my blooded shirt.
"Clean this up!" I yelled before I rushed over to the hospital, Brent hot on my heels.
I ran into the doors hitting them open I looked at the receptionist. "Where is he?" I demanded Brent placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Calm down." He said softly. I snarled at him, shoving him away from me. He flew backwards, his back colliding with the wall as he slumped down he knocked over a few chairs.
"Don't tell me to calm down. Now where is he!?" I growled. The frightened nurse quivered as answered.
"T-they took him into surgery Alpha." She trembled. I rushed through the door and began running down the halls. I skidded to a halt when I saw Seth and Jeremiah. Brent almost crashed into me but managed to avoid it.
"Where is he?" I said hysterically. The air was getting thinner and I could feel the panic taking over. Seth pulled me into his chest whilst telling me to breathe. I was sobbing uncontrollably, and it had become difficult to breathe.
"Bridget!" He yelled as he grabbed my face, forcing me to look at him. "Look at me! Look at me!!" He yelled and my eyes snapped to his "breath... in... good... now again." He said breathing with me. I felt the world spin as he sat me down. I slowly began to calm down, and the world seemed less blurred as I came back into focus. I stared at the worried faces around me as I cried. I gripped Seth's hand tightly.

"He has to be okay." I sobbed. Brent nudged him out of the way before he pulled me into his chest. I cried for ages until I had no more tears left to cry.
I sat up and pulled Brent into a hug.
"Thank you." I whispered, burying my face into the crook of his neck.
"It's okay. I'm here. I'll always be here." He soothed, stroking my back in a calming manner.
"Bridget." I heard Tommy say. I turned around so quickly I was almost dizzy.
"How is he?" I rushed out. Tommy looked down at the floor before smiling at me.
"He's going to be okay. There were a few complications, but overall he will be okay. He's got stitches in his face that need to be taken out in a few days and I reset his shoulder and that's healing rather nicely, I also had to put in a chest tube because there was some damage to his lungs causing one to collapse but everything should be okay in a few weeks." He informed me and I choked out a sob before I hugged him.
"Thank you so much. Can I see him?" I asked desperately he nodded.
"He's still under anaesthesia and won't wake for a few hours. He also has a chest tube in to prevent his lung from collapsing. So far he is breathing on his own. But that could change. Im not trying to scare you, I just want you to know all the information." I nodded and thanked him again before me and everyone else followed Tommy to his room.
As soon as I saw him I rushed over to him and looked over his fragile state.
"Where is that Samuel prick." Growled Jeremiah.
"Dead." Came my short response.
I lifted my hand up and brushed his hair from his face. A few tears had fallen and were strolling down my reddened cheeks. I leant over and placed a kiss on his lips, my crying made the kiss wet. I pulled back and grabbed his hand.
"It's okay. You're okay, you're going to be fine, I promise." I whispered more to myself than to him.
I was sitting there by his bed like I have been all night. Not once leaving. I wouldn't leave his side. Not now, not ever. Jeremiah stayed too. He also called his parents, and they were driving up here to see him. They were so worried and I couldn't blame them. I too was worried beyond belief. My mum came down with Rose and they stayed with me and Rose we were cuddled up together on the chair. I said she could leave, but she wouldn't. She just held me as I cried. I felt my eyes droop as the tiredness overtook me. I let myself drop off, needing my energy.
I was being shaken awake. I jumped up, my eyes frantically scanning the room.
"He's waking up." Said Rose. I smiled at her and rushed over to his bed, I took his hand in mine, I was crying again as his eyes fluttered open. He groaned.
"Y... you're crying?" He croaked out. I laughed through the tears, so happy that he was awake. I pulled him to me gently, and I kissed him this time, kissed me back. I pulled back, still crying.
I poured him some water and gave him a straw. He drank it all and then looked around the room. "What's everyone doing here?" He mumbled causing me to sob.
"There here because of you." He went to sit up, but I pushed him down gently.
"I need to sit up." He groaned. I shook my head.
"No!" I snapped, surprising him "Tommy said you needed to rest. So rest." I ordered. He huffed, trying to sit back up.
"Jerome Ricardo Morton lay down this instant." I heard a women's voice from behind me. Turning to look at her.
"Mum?" He croaked. And my eyes widened. His parents are here.

Legends of The Wesh: Lochley
The Universe is held together by something. It is an undisputable truth but nobody knows what that something is. People claim that it is connected by The Path of Legends, where Gods traversed trying to find the meaning of their own existence. Others claim that the universe is a Tree, connecting worlds with its extending branches and giving life-bearing fruits to its inhabitants. Several even claimed that the Universe is just a colony of ants, that this universe and the worlds in it are just as insignificant as insects. In one of the Worlds in it, the arrival of someone signaled great changes. Gods will die, Trees will Rot, Insects will burn. Those at the top had fallen and they will upend the worlds trying to claim what was theirs. Those at the bottom have had enough of scraps and they yearned to devour the fruits of the worlds. Those that were innocent and caught in between had no choice but to persist, lest they get erased by the surging tides. Nobody knows where will they end, but everybody knew where they started. They will not be judged, they will not be rebuked, they will not be curbed, they will not be vanquished. The universe is their canvas and it’s time — time to paint their truths upon it. Azrael was born as a prince in the warring world of Ost. Inheriting the title but not its privileges and oppressed by his siblings in every step of his life, he had no choice but to be subservient to their whims until circumstances spiraled him to the abyss, to a new world, and to more agreeable companions. But is he truly free from the past or will it continue to hound him to his new life? Elira had one wish… to be known more than as an offspring of the Great Phasol Family. Talented, hardworking, and stubborn, she struggled to break free from the influence of her family. Everything had been going well in her life but is she strong enough to resist the upheaval and truths of the world? William grew up in an orphanage with nothing to his name. Regaled by various tales of fantasy and greatness by his caretakers, he reached adulthood with the goal of having a legend of his own. Will he make his mark on the world or be forgotten like an ant; crushed by the boot of an unsuspecting traveler. The world of Lochley has been at peace for centuries and its undercurrents are growing restless from waiting… waiting for that spark of opportunity to ignite and swallow the world whole. The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

Demonizing Matters
A high fantasy drama about a young woman who finds out a demon secret. This secret sparks a growing conflict between demons and humans. While trying to save her own life and dealing with the unexpected consequences of her actions, she falls in love with a hated demon. We follow the drama of Lita, alongside a cast of several other POV characters, as she discovers secrets (both open and purposefully hidden), makes well intentioned but sometimes disastrous decisions, and encounters prejudices and truths. Demons may be evil… or not. Humans may be good… or not. God is aloof… or not. Publishing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is my first real work! Super excited to be publishing! I don’t spend a lot of time describing gore, sex, trauma or any other type of scene that would be labeled as mature. I've labeled the story as mature in every way more because I don't quite understand the standard and don't know if I've crossed the line at all (and I'd rather be safe than get my story rejected for under labeling ;)). Mostly I hint, start the scene then interrupt/fade out, and in general let the reader know it happens but without making it too explicit. (I’d love to hear how I did on this! And if it was still entertaining/informative without being traumatizing.) This is what I prefer to read myself so that’s what I write. I’m not apologizing. ;) If I mislabeled my mature content it was by accident. And, yes, the pacing was also on purpose. Beyond that, I welcome any feedback you want to give! Enjoy the story!
