《Fixing Each Other》Chapter 26

I didn't know what to do. If I moved they would attack and kill her. Three of the six had decided to shift. And they were all in an attack stance. If I moved they'd kill.
"Don't hurt her." I growled, panic building up inside me.
"If he dies, so does she." The girl responded. I looked at Bridget, my heart was breaking. I picked up the guy's body and walked into their line of fire. Bridget growled at me, warning me to step away.
"Who even is he? Who the hell are you? " I questioned, dropping his body onto the floor. The girl looked at me, her eyes holding no emotion like she was completely blank.
"He's Jared. Jared is the boss's son. We must respect Jared." She mumbled robotically. I narrowed my eyes.
"And your a wolf. Like her and I?" I questioned. She shook her head.
"Not anymore." She said staring blankly.
"What do you mean?" I asked, truly trying to get answers.
"I cannot disclose this information."
Bridget moved slightly causing all of them to point their guns at her each firing a bullet they all collided into her and I yelled. She whimpered as the silver pierced her skin.
"Stop! Leave her alone." I yelled. "We're not hurting Jared. Just let her go. Please. If you need to kill. Kill me not her just please let her go." I begged dropping to my knees. I saw a flash of fur and froze. She called for backup.
"Before you kill any of us. Why are you here? Why now?" I asked stalling. A man spoke up this time.
"Because of Wisakachek's prophecy." He mumbled.
"Prophecy. What prophecy?"
"The prophecy that if Keme's Circle has not completed its task by the end of the first moon cycle, then it's members will be killed and reborn." He recited. I've heard of the moon cycle we have three in a year. The timing adds up. Every moon cycle cursed wolves lose their ability to shift. Meaning they lose everything and they operate like normal humans should.

"You're all cursed wolves." I mumbled as I was mulling over the answers I heard a bang. Then a cloud of smoke appeared it encased us making it hard to see. Bridget shifted, and I threw myself on top of her and Theo. My body shielding them from any incoming bullets l. But nothing hit me. I looked up and all the armed soldiers were all unconscious. The smoke made it hard to see what had happened. But I heard the growls and the blows beings landed. I turned to Bridget not caring that she was naked I l pulled her into me cradling her in my arms. She pulled back to find Theo had nestled his way in. I hugged both of them happy beyond belief that were safe.
"Brother?" I heard him yell.
"Over here." I called out he ran over to us. I growled at him as he stared at my very hot but very naked mate. He turned around and shrugged off his shirt before throwing it at me I gave it Bridget and she quickly threw it in.
"Okay." I said, and he turned around. He looked me over. I knew I was injured from my fight with Jared but I didn't think it was that bad. My chest had blood dripping down it. I had ripped my stitches when I shifted that I knew.
"Come on, let's get you home." He said as he tossed me some shorts I threw them on and stood up. I picked Bridget up holding her close to me my wolf wasn't ready to let her go. And she was injured. Jeremiah grabbed Theo he too was frightened.
"I can walk." She whispered I shook my head, her breathing was laboured, she was as pale as a sheet and she was sweating profusely. She was in no position to be walking anywhere.
"I can't..." I paused "I'm not letting you go." I breathed. She stayed silent her face had paled as the silver was making its way through her bloodstream. I ran with her all the way to the hospital Tommy was already there. He ushered me inside a room where he took Bridget from me and placed her on the bed. He immediately began working on her. Pumping her with fluids she was being brave, but I knew she was hurting. Tommy turned to me with a serious look.

"I need your blood. Almost all of hers is infected with sliver. Your mates. Your blood can heal her," he rushed out. I nodded biting into my vein on my wrist. He threw me a container, and I began emptying my blood into it. I did it until the cut on my wrist and completely healed. He took it and loaded it all into a syringe."This is going to hurt. I'm sorry." He said as he looked at her. She nodded. I grabbed onto her hand as he injected the syringe into her heart. She released an ear-splitting scream, and she was gripping my hand so tight I thought she was going to break it.
"How long will she be in pain like this!" I yelled desperation filling my tone.
"Until the silver has left her system." He said grimly. She thrashed around in the bed screaming in pain. Her body was convulsing, and she had broken out into a violent sweat. I tried to soothe her but nothing was working. My eyes watered. I couldn't stand to see her in pain.
Her eyes snapped to mine "Jerome... it hurts... please make it stop." She cried fresh tears falling from her eyes.
"I'm so sorry, baby. So sorry I can't." I cringed as a pained look crossed her face. She was sweating profusely as her body burned up. I just held her as she screamed not knowing what else to do.
After what seemed like hours it was finally over. She stopped screaming as the pain dulled. Her hair was clinging to her face wet with sweat. I held her close wanting to help her as much as I possibly can.
"She's going to be okay, I'm sure with her enhanced system she'll be as good as new by tomorrow morning so just make sure she rests for a while. The fact that she has stopped screaming and thrashing means that your blood worked and it sped up the healing process meaning it was fighting the effects of the silver." I nodded still not quite understanding why it hurt so much.
"If it was helping her why was she in pain?" I asked my voice low and melancholy.
"In order for the blood to heal her it had to create new blood cells and kill off all of her old ones making it impossible for her to relax. And the pain came from the silver reacting with your blood because your mates you have healing qualities in both of your dormant cells and for those to awaken they need to excessively multiply which is why it hurt because they were forced out her old cells." He explained so I could understand. I nodded.
"So she's going to be okay?" I asked.
"She's going to be okay." He confirmed. I smiled down at her stroking her hair.
"You hear that. You're going to be fine I'll look after you. I promise." I mumbled as I kissed her head. Her eyes dropped, and she was soon asleep. To which I was happy about because she needs to rest so she can heal.
