–If we only had known we would have waited a little longer to announce our engagement... that way maybe the media would forget about you guys. –said my mom.
–We have a plan here but we'd like to hear what Y/n and Chris think. –said Megan, Chris' publicist.
We sighed and looked at each other. We didn't know. I'm a pretty open person and don't mind telling the world about us but I still felt it wasn't quite right, at least not time wise taking into account I didn't want my success to be a hundred percent linked to Chris. On the other hand, Chris really cherishes his privacy and knows what the media and fans can be like.
Two days ago at Disneyland we were okay with maybe open up to the world about our relationship but neither of us thought that we'd have to do it soon. Now we didn't know if doing so would be the best thing. But we knew this was something that would change our relationship and our lives as well.
–Let's go. –Chris says reaching his hand out for me to take.
–What? Where? –I asked confused, yet, taking it.
We left the room agitated since he was walking fast practically dragging me. He ignored my questions about where we were going until we were outside the château, the gates were a few steps away. He whispered an "I don't know". I looked around and saw some of François' expensive vintage cars.
–I know where.
I ran towards where the cars were parked and to my luck, a Mercedes Benz 190 SL had the keys on the seat. As if it was waiting for us. I got in and drove to where Chris was standing. I slid to the passenger seat and he got quickly in the driver's.
Thank God a car was entering the château so the gates opened and Chris took the opportunity to drive away. I heard a voice screaming my name, making me turn. A blonde girl's head was coming out of the car, looking at me confused. Oh my God, was that Jess?
–Jess? –I screamed but we were too far gone.– Oh my God.
–Do you want to go back?

–No... just drive. I'll tell you where to go, let me open Google Maps.
~~~~~~
–We can't just make out, we have to figure out what to do. –he said breaking the heated make out session we were having.
–I didn't know Jess was coming. Must have been a surprise from my mom... –I slipped down from the fence Chris sat me down on and began walking to where the golf cart was parked.
–Y/n!
–Come on, we still have a few holes left.
–Y/n... –I sighed, putting my hands on my hips and then using one of them to massage my temple.
–I don't know, Chris. I don't know what to do. I feel like whatever we decide will ruin your career. I ruined your career. Everyone's gonna talk about the age gap and...
–Hey... hey. No. –he took my face on both of his hands, making me look at him.– If anything I'm taking your shot away, you didn't want your success be linked to anyone and I...
–No, you're not. –I interrupted him and sighed.– You love your privacy and now we have to address this one way or another.
–I wouldn't mind shouting out to the world that I love you. No matter how that may have repercussions on my career.
–Ugh, I love you for that but even if I'd love for you to do that, how selfish would I be for not caring about your job? I want to keep seeing you grow in your career. And I know you want the same thing for me...
–Yeah...
–So, do we keep messing with the media? –he laughed.
–Let's keep playing golf and then go back to talk to my publicity team.
–Okay. –we hugged, just in case anyone was watching us.
–This was the surprise I had for you that my mom didn't let me show you the other day. Did you like it?
–I love it. How did you say this place was called? –I shook my head smiling.
–You know, you just want to hear me say it in French. Again.
–Please. –he pouted.
–Golf des Yvelines.
–Yes! –he threw his head backwards, happy to hear me again.
~~~~~~
–I'm not happy, Chris but it's your life. We'll work with your guys' wishes. –said Megan, the head of Chris' publicity team.

–Thank you, Megan.
–Well, not to be rude Mrs. Pachon but you'll have to learn to be happy with how my son in law and daughter want to live their life. Respectfully. –said my mom getting on full momma bear mode while we got out of the room where we were having the meeting at Francois' house.
We decided not to address our relationship publicly, neither confirm it or deny it. We wouldn't hide from the world but we wouldn't be showing it off too. Of course Chris' publicist wasn't happy because she wanted to keep us secret and deny any sort of relationship between Chris and I but what mattered was that we were at easy with that decision, at least for now.
–Did your mom just called me his son in law? –Chris whispered to me with the widest smile ever.
–Yeah, I think so. –I said as surprised as he was.
–Y/n! –someone screamed and I turned as fast as I possibly could.
–Jess! –we ran towards each other and hugged tightly.– Así que no te estaba alucinando. (So after all I wasn't hallucinating you). –I laughed.
–Te extrañé demasiado, hermana. (I missed you a lot, sister). –she said breaking our hug.
–Trop de bruit. (Too much noise). –said Mathilde in French walking past us, displaying disgust in her face.
–Ne joue pas avec nous, française. (Don't mess with us, french). –Jess shouted at her, she spoke French as well. Mathilde just rolled her eyes at us and left. Thankfully François and my mom were gone.– Déjame adivinar, ¿es la hermanastra malvada? (Let me guess, the evil stepsister?)
–Yep.
–Y... ¿no me vas a presentar al trasero de América? (So... you're not gonna introduce America's ass to me?) –she asked subtly looking at Chris.
–Oh yes, sorry guys. Chris, this is my best friend Jess and Jess, you already know him but this is Chris, my boyfriend. –I said pointing at them the way you do when you introduce two people.
–Hey, nice to meet you, Y/n talks about you all the time. –said Chris smiling.
–Hi... –I knew she was nervous so I laughed, when she heard me she threw me a death stare.– Likewise. Oh my God, you don't know how much Y/n liked you before knowing you. –now I threw her a death stare.
–Oh really? –he said putting one of his arms around my shoulder and smirking.
–Wipe that smirk off your face, Evans.
–I don't think so, González. –he began tickling me and I laughed loudly.
–I feel like a third wheel right now.
–You'll probably be the third wheel for the few of days we'll be together, Jessica. –I hugged her while laughing.
–Don't be mean. –Chris told me.– Well try not to make you feel left out, Jess. –he smiled at her.
–I already like him more than I like you, Y/n. –said Jess. I just stuck out my tongue in her direction.
The rest of the evening I showed Jess the whole château and helped her unpack her things. She originally was going to be staying at her own room but she ended up staying in mine, I didn't mind since it was quite big anyways. We caught up with what had been happening in our lives, I told her everything about Boston and she told me everything about life in Spain.
A knock on the door made us shut up and I told whoever was outside to come in. Chris came in and sat on the bed next to me, he showed us yet another article speculating about us and the three of us began talking about how our relationship started. Jess had a lot of questions about us and after a few minutes, Chris began asking Jess things about me and about our friendship. I liked how we all got along.
I was filled with a feeling of true happiness and sense of relief after a long time, I had everyone I loved close to me and I knew things would be alright with Chris, Jess and my new family. Even if Mathilde was a pain in the ass, I was excited to keep knowing François and his kids and to soon meet my baby sibling.

A Budding Scientist in a Fantasy World
Alice is a girl who loves science and lives on Earth. Then, suddenly, she was punted into another dimension. A dimension where magic and monsters roam the land, swords and sorcery reign supreme, and, for some reason, a System keeps dinging at her and telling her that her stats and levels are increasing. As someone who loves exploring mysteries, Alice is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. After all, everything has to have a ‘cause,’ including the System, right? What to expect: This story is going to be a LitRPG set in a fantasy world. However, unlike many LitRPG’s, the system has both a definite beginning and definite limits to what it is able to accomplish – rather than a singularly omnipotent, omniscient being that is tied to the laws of the world, the way systems are usually presented in LitRPG’s, the system is close to both, but has definite limits and rules which it operates by. This story is also relatively slow, since that is my writing style. The main character also begins the story as a young, 15-year old girl who has yet to finish high school, and is going to explore more of the world around her as she grows as a person and starts to get her feet under her.
