Nobody should take anything for granted, not jobs, not money, not love and especially, not life. Life is a fragile thing that can end with the simplest mistakes or coincidence. I don't believe in coincidences. Life can change very fast, in a blink of an eye everything could change, everything could take a turn to the worst.
Many never think of all the possible ways that can change you forever, leave you scarred. Some of those scars never fade, they're too deep, too significant. I was one of those people who never thought about the consequences, who took everything for granted and I was amazed to see how my life radically changed in seconds. Seconds that I don't want to remember. Seconds that forever changed me, scared me.
Seconds I wished weren't real.
Seconds I have been replaying in my mind over and over again for years. The reason for my nightmares. When I lost everything I cared about. It's like they say, 'you do not know what you have until you lose it.' After two years I laugh to myself as I think about how I acted, I didn't deserve a lot of things and when I was finally noticing it and trying to change, they took it from me. Because of them I'm where I am now, trapped and lost, not knowing where to turn. Watching my back for any little thing. Waiting for the day they appear once again. I know they will.
