POV"Calm down, Sanam. See we all are here with you" Sam said as he sat beside me handling me a glass of water. My family is very supportive, they are trying so hard to bring me out of depression. And look at me! I am such a coward who always troubles them!
"Kuch nahi hoga bache.. Your mumma is here with you. Chal ab soja." Mummy cupped my face and pecked my forehead. I kept my head on her lap and tried to sleep.
Soumya'sWe were in our room sleeping peacefully. Suddenly I heard Sanam's scream. Thankfully Amaya was still sleeping or she might be scared. Me and Samar rushed to his room along with mummy and papa.
He saw that nightmare again. It's so painful for all of us to see him in this misery. His love for Khushi is beyond our imagination. Their love is eternal. Beyond life and beyond heaven.
After mumma consoled him, he slept on her lap, "Somu beta, you go and rest in your room. Amu is alone there. She'll get scared if she wake up." Mumma told me. I nodded and left from there.
I laid beside amu quietly, she wrapped her tiny hands around me. She was murmuring something in sleep. I brought my ear close to her lips to hear her, "Amaya ki Masi kab ayegi?" I chuckled. Ye ladki bhi na.
'Wait a min!'
Baby you gave me an idea!
'Aaru!'
She is a psychologist, she can help Sanam to get out of depression. Yes! "Thank you baccha!" I kissed Amaya's forehead.
Aaru is the solution for Sanam's problems!
But firstly I need to talk with everyone about it. Tomorrow I will ask mummy papa.
___________
Next morning as usual I woke up early and prepared breakfast for all. Everyone was sleeping in Sanam's room. I went with the tray in my hand to wake them up, "Good morning, mumma." I greeted her seeing her already awake and I kept her tea cup on the table. "Morning beta." she replied with a soft smile.
"Mai fresh ho kar ati hu" she said "OK mumma" she left. "Samar utho!" I shook his shoulders but he didn't wake up.
Oh god! Kya kru mai inka.
"Samar!!utho bhi!"
"Uske face par pani dalo do uth jayegenge janab." Dad joked getting up from bed.
I chuckled, "Morning papa. But uthne ke baad he will get angry on me na."
"Morning beta.. Tum apne pati ko sambhalo, mai bhi fresh ho jata hu then I'll take tea." He said and I nodded then he left.

Papa tak uth gaye meri aawaz sun kar but look at him!
Sotadu Puri!
"Samar utho na" I got tired and irritated, "Fine! Sote rho." I stood up for leaving but suddenly I felt someone holding my wrist.
Uth gaye janaab!
I turned and he pulled me towards him making me fall up on his lap. My eyes widened in shock. He wrapped his hands around my waist with a dazzling smile on his face and sleep still lingering in his eyes.
"Samar, what are you doing? Leave me. Sanam yahi hai. Hatif he wakes up?" I complained trying to get free. "Don't worry he's sleeping." he winked. "Ky baat hai? Aj bada pyar aa rha hai apni biwi par." I asked him hiding the blush on my face by covering it with a smirk.
"Aj? Muje to roz hi ata hai. Tum hi dur bhagti ho.." He said with a smirk on his face.
'Don't do that. My heart stop functioning when I see that intimidating smirk!'
Oh yaad aya! "Samar get ready fast I have to tell u something." I tried getting up bt didn't leave me.
"That u love me ? I know that baby" he said casually still holding me. God! he is just impossible sometimes.
"Samar please na. Let me go.Amu ko bhi uthana h." I made a pouty face and pleading eyes. He sighed and freed me.
"Morning Bhai. Morning Bhabhi." Sanam woke up. "Morning!" We both wished him with a smile.
"Freshen up, I will make coffee for you" I told him as he smiled warmly signing OK.
At least he was fine now.

Everyone was on the dining table eating breakfast except of Sanam and Amu. This is the time I must tell them.
"Umm.. I wanna ask something to you all." I gathered some courage and finally spoke. "Ha bolo" mumma said. "Mumma. Actually yesterday when I was going to fetch Amu from school. I met my college friend Arpita." They all were listening quietly while eating breakfast. "That's good." Dad added. "She is a psychologist. So, I was saying that... can I ask her to talk with Sanam?" I said the last sentence in a low pitch as their facial expressions changed into tensed one.
"What are you saying Somu? Mera beta pagal nahi hai that he would need a psychologist." Mumma's voice rose a bit making me flinch.
"Mumma calm down.. Puri baat sun lete hai.." Samar tried to calm her.

"I am really sorry mumma if you felt bad.. But you are taking me wrong. Not just crazy people need a psychologist or psychiatrist.. She can help him to get out of depression.. She can deal with Sanam's mental condition. Mumma pls try to understand. " I tried to convince her. Tears started welling up in her eyes and so did mine.
"I just want my Sanam back. I can't see him in this condition anymore." Her voice cracked. "Mumma!" I hugged her. "Muje mera bacha bas khush chaiye. Jaise vo pehle rehta tha." She broke down in my arms I tried to console her.
"Mumma dadi ro kyun nhi h?" (why is grandma crying?) I heard Amaya. Mummy wiped her tears and covered her pain with a smile when we saw Amu coming out of her room with her pink teddy in hand. "Beta dadi ki eyes me na Kuch chala gya tha. Is liye dadi ki eyes me tears aye." Mumma told her hiding her tears and tried to convince her granddaughter.
"Oho dadi, aap bhi na!" She slapped her forehead in disapproval. "Bas kar dadi amma.. Sit and have ur breakfast." I chuckled as I taunted her.
"Haha.. Come here princess.." Samar called her and she sat on his lap. He gave her a bite of his paratha. She also took a piece of it and made mumma have it by her hand. Mumma smiled at her.
"So should I call Aaru and ask her for an appointment?" I asked them.
"Yeah" Samar shrugged.
"Kon Aaru mumma?" Amu asked me. "Your Masi, baby" I answered with a bright smile. "Wow her name is Aaru?!"
"Arpita. But we call her Aaru"
"Like you call Amaya as Amu!" She said excitingly making us chuckle at her adorableness. "Mumma, is she going to come home?" She asked innocently, I nodded and she started jumping out of excitement.
"Hey chill..Papa k legs break krne hai ky?" Samar whined dramatically and we all laughed.
Come soon, Aaru.

POV:-This morning seems so pleasant. I don't know why but today I get some positive vibes from within when I stood in the balcony of my room. May be something good is going to happen or may be because today is Sunday. Sunday is an off day. "Aj tu bina alarm ke itne jaldi uth gai and that too on Sunday!" Bhumika stood beside me sipping her coffee.
"Utho to problem.. Na utho to problem.. Duniya ki sari problems tujhe hi kyun hoti h? Plus Sunday ko kon alarm set karta hai yaar?" I taunted her dramatically. She made an annoying face and when she didn't have something sarcastic to say in return. We both chukled shaking our heads.
"Hey, btw today is Sunday." She said excitingly.
"Acha? Muje to pata hi nhi tha." I flickered my tongue at her.
"Stop making fun man. Let's go for shopping? Bohot din ho gye kuch shopping nhi ki. Diwali is also coming. So what say?"
"Hmm.. You are right. Let's go for shopping today.. 4 pm?" Even though I am not so fond of shopping but diwali shopping is actually my favorite. Buying different style lamps, colourful diyas, food everything about diwali excites me.
"Great!" She exclaimed and grinned.
I heard my mobile ringing from the nightstand. Soumya di's name flashed on the screen. "Hey.. What's up?!!" I chirped joyfully. "Hey.. Umm nothing much. Acha listen na.. I was saying, can you come today at our home? I want to tell u something." She said nervously.
"Ky hua di? You are fine na?"
"Ha baba I just want you to meet my family."
"What? Your family.. I.. I mean" I stuttered because I was surprised, excited and confused all at once. "Yeah you wanted to meet the band na. It's Sunday so everyone is free." She told me. "But di.. I don't even know exact address." I said felt awkward.
Am I really going to meet my favorite four or is this a dream?
It should be a dream. I'm daydreaming! I have lost my mind.
"You just come to the cafe we met I will pick you from there at 4."
Shit! 4 no! Bhumi will kill me.
"Umm.. Can I come early? Actually Bhumi and I are going out for shopping at 4 so.." I asked her hesitatingly.
"Yeah ofc.. So when are you free?" She asked me. "I'll be there by 1 o'clock." I grinned even though she couldn't see. She agreed and then we hung up.
I know there was something that she was hiding from me. What could be the actual reason for what she is calling me? I could sense the tension in her voice. Whatever it is I'll coke to know when we meet.

The Emperor's Concubine
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] The heroine is good and the villainess is evil. That was the absolute truth. That rule was undeniable as well as the fact that only the heroine would receive true love and her happy ending. Likewise, the malicious villainess would always suffer and leave the stage to clear the path for the perfect heroine in the end. So, for Blanche it felt like her world came crashing around her when she remembered the truth about her life. As the villainess in the typical romance novel “To Be Empress” she was fated to be condemned and abandoned by her lover. No matter how devoted she was to Theodore Estien, the emperor of Artias, she would only be the bratty concubine that would obstruct the heroine, who happened to be Theodore's lawful wife and the empress. In the end, the villainess would be deserted and executed. It was destined to happen like this, and yet she couldn't give up. She had to change the future. Preventing the romance between the main characters would get her killed. Much like trying to steer away from the enemies' intrigues, in which she was already caught up, would. But neither the heroine nor the emperor's political rivals would change the fact that Blanche loved the man that was supposed to be the heroine's. And no matter what happened she would always stay by her lover's side. So she wouldn't just follow the book's storyline and let her own doom arrive. Blanche would survive while trying to suppress all of the selfish desires that had made her the villainess. But was she truly fine with that? Did she not desire more than just surviving? Did she even have the right? Could the villainess ask for a happy end? Was she too brazen if she just wanted to stay with the man she loved and receive his affection? And wasn't there a bit more to this novel than she remembered? She didn't know and in the end that mattered little when the world around her changed with each day as more and more questions about the future and the past arose. "The Emperor's Concubine" will be updated thrice a week (usually on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) *The Profanity tag was added due to the characters' occasional swearing, which should not happen too often.
