《My Arranged Shaadi (Complete)》Chapter- 22 The Bomb

2 weeks later
It was the announcement day! I was quite excited. I was so excited that I was continuously throwing up since morning.
"Nishtha you aren't well! We need to go to see the doctor!" Paras said. He looked really concerned.
"Yeah, I will. You go to the venue and check the arrangements. FAST!" I said. Both of us were panicking as it was probably the most important day of our lives. Paras nodded while doing something on his phone.
"Baby, I have booked your appointment with Dr. Batra. You have to see her after an hour. The driver will take you. Take care ok?" He said and I nodded. Then he left after kissing me on the cheek.
Damn, this day had to be perfect, and here I was, sick and tired due to all the vomiting. I somehow dragged myself near the wardrobe. I changed into some clean clothes. Tied my hair in a neat ponytail and then left to see the doctor.
The doctor did a check up. But she wasn't saying anything.
"Is there something wrong doctor?" I asked.
"Mrs. Singhania, congratulations, you're going to be a mother!" She suddenly said. WHAT THE FUCK????!!! I was shocked and I froze on my spot. The look on my face must have been like I just saw a ghost.
"Are you okay dear?" She asked holding my hand.
"No no no, this wasn't supposed to happen... not today... Oh my god! Damn it!" I said.
"Dear, there's nothing wrong in it." She said.
"Dr. we used protection! How can this happen?" I said while panicking.
"Mrs. Singhania, protection doesn't work many a times. There's just 97% chance that a condom would avoid pregnancy." She explained. I couldn't think straight.
"This isn't right..." I said and barged out of the clinic. My head was spinning. I somehow managed to sit in the car.
"Are you alright ma'am?" The driver asked and I just nodded. I was too shocked to even speak a single word. I wasn't ready to be a mother. Usually, a pregnancy news is supposed to make a woman very happy. But this was totally unplanned.

I reached home. The house was empty as Paras had gone to the venue to see the arrangements. I was feeling really weak due to all the vomiting. I just ate a paratha and drank some glucose. Then I went to sleep.
"Nishu, baby wake up. We need to get ready." I heard Paras's voice. I just moved a bit. I was feeling better now. I looked at the clock, it was 5:30 p.m. already and the party was going to start at 7:30 pm. I had to go to the parlour.
I woke up and tied my hair.
"Paras, we need to talk." I somehow managed to say.
"Babe can it wait please. I have to leave now for the venue. The driver will take you to the parlour and from there you have to directly come to the venue." He said and I nodded.
I decided to shut my mouth for now. I didn't know how he would react. And I didn't want to spoil the best day of his life.
"By the way, what did the doctor say?"He said while tying his neck tie.
"Nothing much. She said that it's just indigestion." I lied and he was too busy to notice it.
"You should be more careful about what you eat. Ok now I have to leave." He said and planted a kiss on my forehead.
"See you at the venue." He said caressing my cheek and then left.
I grabbed my evening gown and left for the parlour. They did my make up and I was looking really gorgeous. Then I slipped into my red velvet evening gown. I looked elegant, really elegant.
I looked at myself for the final time in the mirror. And I was feeling like the CEO of my company.
I reached the venue and got of the car like a celebrity. There he was my prince. He came to me and extended his arm towards me which I held gladly.

"You're looking gorgeous." He whispered in my ear huskily.
"You aren't looking too bad yourself Mr. Ceo." I said teasingly and he looked at me with me with a genuine smile.
The even was grand and the decorations were fabulous. The theme was golden.
"Hey, keep these keys of my car. I have to use the bathroom." He said and handed me over the keys to his car. Then he went to the washroom.
"Hey Nishtha." I heard a familiar voice. It was Akshay.
"Hey." I replied.
"This is my wife Alisha." He said introducing a beautiful woman. She look really elegant.
"Nice to meet you Nishtha, I have heard a lot about you." She said extending his hand for a handshake.
"Oh! Nice to meet you too Alisha. You're looking stunning." I said shaking my hand with hers.
"There's nothing to be awkward about. I know about your past with Akshay. And I hope all of us have moved on from it." She said fidgeting with her fingers.
"Oh yeah totally! I'm very happy with Paras and I'm really very happy for you two. Oh there he comes." I say as I saw Paras approaching us. Paras and Akshay shook hands and apparently Paras ended up telling them that he knows about our past too.
We all had a small talk and then I and Paras excused ourselves. It was almost time for the official announcement and I and Paras were holding hands really tightly.
All the press was there and it was going to be the best moment on my life. And there came my father near the mic for the official announcement.
"So ladies and gentlemen. I'm really honored to announce that it's time for the next generation to take over our company. I'm really happy to announce the merger of Oberoi enterprises and Singhania and Co. and we've named it PaNi. I'm also very pleased to announce our partnership with Dixit textiles." He said and everyone clapped.
"Paras, son, I'm very happy to have given my daughter's hand in yours." He said and I and Paras looked at each other and smiled.
"Not only are you a good human being, but also the most deserving candidate to become the CEO of our merger PaNi. I hope you handle Oberoi Enterprisely as amazingly as you'll handle Singhania and Co. All the best to you. Thank you." WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ?
My grip on Paras's hand loosened automatically. I couldn't believe my own ears. Did my father just do that to me?
The colour on my face faded away. I was numb. My dreams were shattered into pieces. I wasn't being able to think straight. The whole sole purpose of my life was snatched away from me.
I know Paras was looking at me, he even shook me a bit. But I didn't move even a bit. I was completely frozen at my place. How was I supposed to handle the humiliation.
"Nishtha..." I heard Paras's voice. I looked at him with tears in my eyes. I just shook my head. I wasn't ready to believe what just happened. But it was the reality.
I looked around, everyone was looking at me. No, they were probably looking at Paras. But it felt like, every single person present in that room was laughing at me.
I just stepped away from Paras, looked at him one last time. And then I ran. I ran out of that hall. Not caring about anything, not caring about the fact that I would be on the headlines the next morning.
I was feeling stupid, humiliated and useless. I just ran, for my life, for my death, I don't know.
