《Devil in My Heart》Into The Demon Zone

Then his admiration was diverted because he remembered the existence of the deer that had brought him here. Turns out it was far ahead and had crossed the pond!
"How could it have stepped on dry ground and been on the other side of the cave? Since when?"
Ryan only saw a deer with a black shape because of the light from the other cave mouth.
Ryan bidding farewell," Oh no... Looks like it's enough just to be here with you. Because I can't swim. Take good care, friend."
Ryan got up and wanted to walk back, but unfortunately, something caught his right leg and pulled him into the pond.
"Eh??" Ryan gasped.
Byurrr...
"What's this?" He thought, still in shock.
Despite his panic, he swam to the surface as best he could. Then a strange root-like object ran up to his upper body, twisted him, and kept pulling him down. His heart was beating wildly. It was hard for him to hold his breath in the water plus he was wracked by panic.
"Ugh... I can't give up. If I surrender, I will die!"
Ryan took out a silver dagger that he usually carried everywhere. The young man tried to open the noose with his free hands. The roots that entangled him looked like seaweed.
"Eek! What the hell is this? Why can it move?"
After he finished cutting it, Ryan felt limp. Moreover, he basically can't swim. He began to choke on water.
"Cough... Am I going to drown?" He muttered as he tried to swim to the surface, but it was hard and under pressure. At that moment, Ryan saw a shadow from the side that was coming closer. It was a merman with a terrifying human-like form with sharp fangs! The creature swam towards him so fast that the young man couldn't see it clearly. Even in such a desperate condition, Ryan attacked him with the dagger in his tight grip and slashed the side of the merman's body.

"Crash!!"
"My breath is getting tight. My eyes sting. I difficult to see and breathe. I don't have the strength to get to the surface."
The poor youth floated and slowly descended. He could only see the water and feel the emptiness, as well as the silence for a moment before the monster attacked again.
"I don't know what feeling is this? Panic, fear, and stress are replaced by feelings of relief and freedom."
To the monster, Ryan was just a tasty lump of flesh. It swam quickly to eat Ryan. That's when a green glow appeared from his chest which spread evenly and encompassed the pond. The energy purifies the evil energy in the lake. Immediately, the water in the lake rippled from the vibrations it caused before finally calming down. For an instant, the monster was hit by the energy and slowly it transformed into a beautiful merman. The green roots that had wrapped around Ryan previously turned into algae as before. And what happened to Ryan?
"What's this really about?" He thought when he saw the necklace he was wearing.
Unknowingly, he entered the domain of the demons. Slowly, his consciousness began to fade. But there was a merman who attacked before, then came over to him. Ryan thought the monster would attack him back, so he already prepared with a dagger in his hand. But his instincts told him the merman was not dangerous. And it's true! Turns out he came to save Ryan.
"Looks like it was the monster earlier that had turned back into a merman." Ryan thought.
(Just illustration).
The merman hugged the young man, while Ryan could only see the gleam of his scales and long wavy hair following his movements. His gill-shaped ears are bluish-white, and he has a long light blue tail.

"He's beautiful. His skin is so smooth." That's what Ryan thought.
Amid his fascination, Ryan choked on the water.
"My head hurts and my chest feels tight," said Ryan.
The merman was surprised and muttered, "I have to get him ashore soon."
They swam to the surface.
"A little bit more!!" said the merman.
"Splash"
And finally, they emerged to the surface. The merman laid Ryan down and stared at him deeply. Along with that, an unfamiliar feeling grew inside the merman.
The merman mumbled, "Sorry. You suffer because of me..."
"This is the life energy of a demigod. As long as the person isn't dead, this energy can save his life." The merman muttered.
Then he brought his face closer to Ryan. Their lips touched each other. So deeply, so romantic...
"Deg!!"
"I seem to have been swept away by this unfamiliar feeling..." The merman thought.
Then he broke the kiss and said, "You are a brave and strong youth. I hope we can meet again so I can thank you and return the favor. "
The merman rose and felt the strong evil energy in the forest.
"I can't linger here. This evil energy can taint me."
The merman plunged into the lake and turned to Ryan, seeing him for one last time before separating. He said, "Sorry I can't accompany you nor can I take you into the lake. I hope you survive!"
That was the merman's wish before he dived into the lake. He kept swimming deeper and deeper into the depths of the lake until no human could reach it and no one knew what was in there?
Ryan fell unconscious for a while. Even so, in his subconscious, he still gripped the dagger tightly.
On the other hand...
In the middle of the forest of demons, there is a beautiful pond and waterfall. The gurgling water makes us more relaxed and comfortable to rest while enjoying the scenery and tranquility offered by nature. Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
