As the dark-haired girl walked into the kitchen she immediately spotted the pregnant werewolf making her groan alerting Hayley of her presence. Hayley sent her a small genuine smile which Maya ignored and made her way to the fridge to get a blood bag. Hayley frowned. No matter how much she tried getting along with Maya it never worked. She managed to become friends with Rebekah but not Maya. Every time she would try the tribrid would either send her a snarky comment or would completely ignore her.
As for Maya, in the beginning, she wanted to try and get along with Hayley but then she would remember how she so easily got what she wanted with her husband making all that anger she felt resurface. Resulting in Maya throwing snarky and insensitive comments toward the pregnant wolf.
''Good morning'' Elijah smiled leaning on the kitchen's doorframe.
Diverting her attention from the cupboard Hayley turned to Elijah with a smile ''Hey'' As Elijah walked over to another cupboard he pulled out a bag that Maya didn't care enough to focus on. ''Listen I know I'm the only one in this house that drinks milk, but would it kill any of you to make sure it's on the grocery list?'' Hayley said as Rebekah walked through the backdoor holding a pair of gloves.
''Speaking of, add bleach'' She then walked out of the kitchen and into the living room.
With his face still stuck in the cupboard, Elijah said ''You know I do hope my siblings were hospitable towards you in my absence'' Maya scoffed at Elijah.
''In your absence, as you like to call it, which is a way too polite way of saying that your brother put a dagger in your heart.'' Elijah walked towards Hayley with what Maya could now tell was a bag of cereal, a bowl and a spoon. He took the ice cream out of her hands giving her a look of disappointment at her choice of food while he put the ice cream back in the fridge. Well, he tried to but failed since Maya snatched it out of his hands and started eating it with the spoon that she had taken out of one of the drawers when she finished her blood bag.
''I've had to live in a house with a secret dungeon, full of coffins-
''Boohoo cry about it'' Maya said making Hayley roll her eyes yet still ignored her comment.
''And I was nearly murdered by witches who are convinced that my baby is evil.'' She smiled sarcastically her eyes following his every move before looking down at the contour. ''Oh... Milk'' She said feeling embarrassed that she had complained that no milk was there when there was some all along.
Snorting Maya mocked her by saying ''Oh would you look at that it's milk.''
Elijah looked at her and said sternly ''Amaya''

While still talking Hayley said ''They've been fine. Your siblings are weirdly protective. I know I have to thank you for that.''
Diverting his eyes from Amaya he looked back at Hayley and said ''I'm just happy to see that you're in one piece.''
''Trust me if she wasn't pregnant I would have made sure to use my claws her throat out.'' Maya quietly mumbled to herself hoping no one heard what she said.
Getting tired of the sexual tension between the two, Maya walked out of the kitchen and decided that she was going to go shopping. She hasn't done anything fun since coming to New Orleans so why not treat herself.
Walking past Klaus who was reading a poison tree and Rebekah who was sitting on the floor trying to get blood stains fo the carpet she said ''I'll be back later'' She attempted to make it past them but Klaus quickly got up and grabbed her hand.
''Where are you this time. To meet that suitor of yours.'' He had taken notice that she had been leaving the house more frequently ever since she got back from her trip. Klaus didn't want to admit it but he was scared that someone would be able to capture her attention.
''Wouldn't you like to know'' She gave him a fake smile before pushing past him leaving a now jealous Klaus and a laughing Rebekah.

Walking into the room where she heard a bunch of commotion Maya stopped in her tracks her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Sophie Deveraux. ''Bloody Hell.'' She muttered she should have known this would also be Sophie related. ''What the bloody hell is she doing here?''
''I'm trying to help'' She tried justifying herself.
''Help!" Rebekah said raising her voice disbelief coating her features. ''You're the reason we're in this bloody mess. Why aren't we unlinked with this witch already, Elijah.?'' The blonde questioned.
''Rebekah, let her do what she can.''
''I may know a way to slow down the fever, but I'm gonna need some special herbs. I'll text you a list.'' Sophie looked at Rebekah.
''Fine. Happy to play the fetch girl.'' She walked out of the room shoving the damp rag that she used on Hayley into Elijah's chest.
Seeing as Hayley wasn't cooling down, Sophie suggested taking Hayley outside near the pool.
''She's burning up'' Elijah said as he took off his jacket. ''We need to do this now.'' He ran towards Hayley who was sitting at the edge of the pool with a blanket wrapped around her shivering body.
''Get her in the water!'' Sophie yelled making Elijah jump in the pool with helping Hayley in as well.
Looking at Sophie, Rebekah said ''I don't see how a midnight swim is supposed to help''

''It's simple.'' Maya shrugged her shoulders. "Her temperature is sky high, and the water with the help of the herbs should cool her down.'' Maya casually watched as Sophie hurriedly walked into the pool with a cup that she handed to Hayley that contained the herbs. Maya was a little bit worried for the baby but she wouldn't let that show. She wanted the baby to be safe. She felt like she had some sort of unknown connection to it.
''Drink this.'' Sophie gave the cup to Hayley as she gasped in pain. ''You're going to have to get her heart rate down.'' She told Elijah.
''How do you suggest I do that?'' He asked.
''Hold her. It's a natural human remedy to slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure.''
With her arms crossed Rebekah said ''This is never gonna work''
''Davina will break that link'' Elijah said as he picked Hayley up in his arms. ''We just need time.''
''Great. We're trusting Sabrina the teenage witch to save the baby.'' Maya mumbled under her breath.
''I can't breathe'' Hayley clawed at her throat as she gasped for air. Then don't. Maya quietly laughed at herself.
''Okay. Take long, deep breaths. Hayley, look at me. Long, deep breaths.'' Hayley averted her eyes from the distance and looked at Elijah her breathing only calming in the slightest. ''Just focus on the sound of my voice. You'll be okay. You'll be okay.
Out of nowhere, Hayley held onto her stomach yelling in agony making Maya wince at the sudden loud noise. Sophie gasped before saying ''I just felt it lift.'' Maya secretly sighed in relief that the baby was okay.
Sophie took out her earring and used it to stab herself in the middle of her hand as Hayley got out of Elijah's arms. He took her hand from under the water to check if she had the same wound as Sophie and to his relief she didn't. The two of them held eye contact and Maya smirked slowly clapping her hands. ''How romantic'' She said snapping them out of their trance.
''Come on. Let's go.'' He led her to the edge of the pool as Sophie made her way to them.
''Elijah. As soon as your brother finds out that the link is broken, he'll kill Agnes. I know you don't owe me anything. but please don't let him kill her.'' Sophie said the hope was clear in her eyes but he simply vamps speed out of the pool grabbing his belongings. ''Elijah, she's our only access to the power we need to survive.'' She yelled. ''Promise me that you'll stop him.'' The Deveraux witch pleaded.
Elijah dialled a number on his phone that Maya could only assume was Klaus. ''It's me. Where are you?'' He questioned. ''Don't hurt her. I'll be there shortly.'' He looked at Sophie hanging up the phone. ''I'll make you one last promise. I won't let my brother kill Agnes.'' Maya tilted her head at Elijah as he walked out of the house trought the backyard. Elijah never said anything about him killing Agnes.
As Sophie was about to walk out of the pool Hayley grabbed her arm and said ''I know you were just using me to save your people but try it again, I'll kill you.'' Maya raised her eyebrows in shock but couldn't help but be impressed at her words.
*****
Rebekah and Maya walked into the study where Elijah was fully dressed in dry clothes. ''The unlinking worked'' Rebekah said walking towards her brother hopefully. ''Maybe now we can make plans-
''Not now, Rebekah..'' Elijah dismissed her making Rebekah's hopeful smile drop as he walked passed her and Maya. ''Can we discuss this when I return?''
''We won't be here when you return'' Maya said making Elijah turn to face them. ''That sounds like a goodbye''
''I guess it is'' Rebekah said her voice wavering a little bit.
Maya had yet to tell Klaus and Hayley that she was leaving and she didn't plan on it. ''We only came to New Orleans to make sure you were safe. You are.'' Maya sadly said.
''We thought that maybe we could convince you to come with us, but here you are rushing off into whatever Klaus and Marcel have cooked up and I finally get it. You'll never leave this city. You'll never leave Klaus.'' Rebekah said with tears falling down her face.
Walking towards them Elijah said ''Then you should stay.'' Maya scoffed. ''This stupid thing that you, Klaus and Marcel have we want no part of it. How can you not understand that.'' Taking Rebekah's hand in hers she squeezed it in reassurance ''We just want to be free.''
''Well, then go'' He kissed both of their cheeks and said ''You are free.'' He then left leaving them both in the study with tears in their eyes.
*****
''I hope your night was better than mine'' Rebekah said when Maya got in the car.
''I wish'' She mumbled.
They just arrived at half past Louisiana when Elijah called Rebekah's phone. ''Goodbye means goodbye, Elijah.''
''Is she with you?'' Elijah asked.
''What the hell are you talking about?'' Rebekah asked furrowing her eyebrows.
''Hayley is gone. Where is she?''
Maya rolled her eyes and said ''How are we supposed to know we're out of town''
In the background, Maya could hear Klaus walk in and say ''Marcel was here''
''What'' Rebekah quietly mumbled confusedly making Maya glance her way. The last thing Maya wanted right now was to come back to New Orleans.

Binary Soul

Let's say she and her imaginary friend miraculously pass through the borders of reality into an alternate universe, crash landing into a world of swords and magic aboard a starship full of high-tech wonders. Contains yuri, mature themes and the author's personal views on several subjects. Explicit content is kept to a minimum.Does NOT contain slavery, rape, drugs or any other similarly heavy themes.
