"of course baby!" y/n replied
"go put your dishes in the sink, i'll clean them before we leave for church." y/n told her kids
they all raced with their dishes to the sink and ran to the living room
auggie almost fell when he was running cuz he has socks on
"auggie bro be careful! you ok?" gus asked
"ya thanks! let's go!" auggie said running with gus to the living room
"they always like the presents part don't they?"vinnie asked
y/n smiled "yes yes they do! i think that and eating is their favorite part.." y/n said walking to the living room
they walked into the kids sitting at the tree with their presents ready to open
here's what i'm talking about:
"who wants to go first?" y/n asked her eager children
"layla can go first!" auggie blurted out, knowing she's the youngest
the kids nodded their heads in agreement
layla ripped the paper of off the box, vinnie and y/n sat down on the couch watching layla open up her present
layla screamed "finally! i was going to save up for one! now i don't have to!!" she screamed getting up to give her parents a hug
"thank you!" layla said "your welcome baby, place it next to you ok?" vinnie said
layla's present:
"ok kyndra next!" layla said to the shyest kid
kyndra ripped the paper of the box ever so gently
she saw small holes in the box, she looked back at her parents
she went back to open up the box and screamed
"oh my God, i've never heard her scream!" gus said covering up his ears
kyndra pulled out a small cage and other small ideas for the pet lizard

"thank you so much!" kyndra said happily
"your welcome! how about you put your lizard on the table.." y/n said to child
"auggie!" layla said
"i asked for a girlfriend so...." auggie said jokingly making his parents laugh
auggie ripped the paper off and opened up the box
"a paper?" he said pulling it out of the box
"read it auggie" y/n said laughing
"oh, i knew that.." auggie said then reading the paper
"wait really!?" the boy said, gus smacked the back of his head "what does it say??" gus asked
"oh sorry! im moving rooms! so i can have a bigger room!" auggie said happy
"good! your room is like a dumpster in the back of mcdonald's.." gus teased
"shut up...your right! and it's your turn!"
auggie said
"oh ya!" gus said grabbing a random present, he ripped the paper off of the box and opened the box up
"thanks mom and dad!" gus said grabbing the new skate board out of the box
gus's present:
after a hour everyone finished opening up their presents, all the kids thanked their parents
y/n told her kids to get ready for church
"aww you guys look so cute!" vinnie said as y/n finished filling up the dogs food dishes
"yes you guys do!" she said "where's your nose piercing?" y/n asked layla
"i took it out, grandma doesn't like it.." layla said looking down
vinnie walked over to his daughter and lifted her chin up knowing his mom yelled at layla for having it and called her a 's!ut' for having it
"go upstairs and put it back in, who cares what grandma thinks.." vinnie said to his daughter
she ran upstairs and put it back in then ran downstairs and outside to get in the car

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
