《Steven Universe: The Return [FanFiction English]》16- Backfire

Hope you're ready to get your butt kicked by those Gems you used to call FRIENDS! *laughs*
Tch. *turns to Jasper* I'll bring back the memories of my friends, or at least I'll try. But do you think you alone can handle the rest of the Gems?
How can you question it, my Diamond? Of course I can! It'll be very easy, in fact. All these Gems are just wimps compared to me.
My, my, looks like someone's ego is sky high. *chuckles* Don't get cocky, will you? In case you haven't noticed, you're just a run-of-the-mill Quartz too.
Ha! You obviously don't know anything about me, otherwise you'd know who I am and that I'm NOT just a run-of-the-mill Quartz.
*rolls her eyes* Yeah, yeah, whatever you say.
I must admit, rejuvenating these Gems was a pretty good move. You practically have an entire army molded to your liking; however, that's also a double-edged sword.
What are you talking about?
It's something simple, just look at it this way - when you rejuvenate a Gem, you not only wipe her memories, but also all her previous training and fighting experiences.
Jasper, that's a good point, I don't understand how I hadn't figured that out! The time Spinel hit me with the rejuvenator, I lost all my hard-earned powers and went back to being just as weak as when I was a kid! Something similar applies to them then!
Don't take this the wrong way, but you're a little slow on the uptake sometimes, my Diamond.
Huh?
Unless they are poweful Gem prodigies like me, or were made with great power and never needed to train like Lapis, rejuvenation would only reduce the efficiency of your soldiers, meaning you'd be weakening your military power!
So you figured it all out, huh? Pretty impressive for a Quartz, I'll give you that. No use knowing that, though - You're outnumbered!

You think that scares me? I used to fight whole armies in the Gem War! And I don't think an army of pure rookie Gems is a big deal, it might even backfire on you. I wouldn't be surprised at all, I only see a bunch of puny Gems here.
Tch. You may be right, but... *shouting* You don't have limitless stamina, you'll get tired eventually!! Everybody, get 'em!!!
(Back to back, Steven and Jasper take on a fighting stance as the enemy Gems rush at them.)
*excited* Hahaha! This is gonna be so much fun!
Jasper, don't hurt them! Just try to stop them!
You got nothin' to worry about, I won't hurt them... too much.
(Jasper charges up a spin-dash and rolls straight into the bunch of Gems, crashing into them like bowling pins and knocking them over.)
[Meanwhile.]
(Steven tries to talk to his friends.)
*dodging Garnet's punches* I don't want to fight you! Just remember who you are, Garnet! Remember that fusion is the manifestation of the love that Ruby and Sapphire have for each othe- *gets punched in the cheek by Garnet* Gah!!
Don't waste your time! I was warned you'd try to fill my head with lies!
*groans in pain as he rubs his cheek* B-But I'm telling you the truth!
No, you're not! What you said about fusing is a total lie! Even though Gems of different types are now allowed to fuse, I'm ashamed to be one.
*astonished* Wh-what did you say?!
Fusion is just a cheap tactic to make weak Gems stronger.
*shouts from the background* Make up your own dialogues!!!
...
Unfortunately, I can only increase my strength through that aberrant tactic. It's a humiliation, but in the end, all that really matters is POWER!
*tears up* Garnet, what have they done to you?

*laughs* Well said! Power is all that matters in our new empire!
*enraged* Grrr, you-!!
(Suddenly, Steven gets wrapped by Amethyst's whip.)
What the-!?
I've got him! *turns to Garnet* Now punch him with all your might!
Actually, I have a better idea. *to Spinel* You have a rejuvenator, don't you?
Huh? What do you want the rejuvenator for? Are you thinking of rejuvenating him?
Well, duh.
But why?! Wouldn't it be better to kill him?! He's responsible for Pink Diamond's death and for ruining the other Diamonds!
You're right, but it's better to have someone as powerful as him on our side.
If you say so. *pulls out a rejuvenator from her gem*
Wait, wait, wait, wait! Don't even think about that! You'll only make me lose my powers!!
*activates the rejuvenator* All set!
Good. Do it then, rejuvenate him!
Don't!! Stop!!
Too late!
(Spinel pounces on Steven as she laughs maniacally.)
*groans loudly* I SAID- *a pink glow envelops his body* ‐STOP!!!
(Steven lets out a furious shout that pushes Garnet, Amethyst and Spinel back, slamming them into the walls, and also breaks the Amethyst's whip holding him.)
v *distressed by what he did* No, no, no, no! What have I done? I'm so sorry, guys! I didn't mean to!

Jalan Suram : The 100 Fire Holders
"Why us?" Still staring at the unusually stationary fire of the candle he was holding, Agung voiced the questions in our mind. "Out of 2 million people living in this city, why are we the chosen ones?" As if on cue, the eerie laughter of children could be heard above us. Holding our own candle tightly, we resolved to ignore them and continued our discussion. It was a matter of life or death after all. More than half of the initial participants had fallen and the building became more crowded as the result. There were now more ghosts than the living and each step was filled with danger from the unknown. Either we solved all the questions now or we would become another addition to the ghost camp. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was one thing Novita found out after she accepted an invitation to a suspicious event from a seemingly legal company. Crowded didn't exactly mean safe. As more and more variables were added to the dangerous ritual, the higher the risk of death. At the same time, the higher the risk was, the better the rewards for it. But in the end, was it worth it? Note : This series was posted on scribblehub.com under the same name.
