I woke up on the floor of a dirty dark alley. When I got up my head was hurting like crazy. Then I remembered what happened. The Black Rose appeared and then there was that dragon. Then vines came and dragged me into a huge twister. But I specifically remembered what that spiky haired guy called me. Cathy. That was the same name Blister called the girl that disappeared more then 2 months ago? Do I have a connection with her? No it's not possible. I just woke up yesterday so I just couldn't.

I remember that I couldn't read the Black Rose's emotions. Was that because I couldn't see her eyes? Now that I think about I couldn't read Spiky's emotions either. I don't know if that's good or bad. It was nice to not be overwhelmed by someone else's grief or whatever. But it also left him more mysterious.

"Oh your awake." Wait a minute I know that voice. I turned around and saw the Black Rose at the back of the alley. But I knew who she was when I heard her.

"Akiza? Is that you?" I got up and walked towards her but she backed away.

"Please don't. I don't want to hurt you." I didn't need to see her eyes to know she was scared. I just smiled a calm smile and stood where I was still looking at the mask.

"Okay I won't get closer. Let's just talk and sit." I went to a wall and leaned on it. I slid down and sat on the floor. I saw her lean on the wall also and sit down with her knees to her chest. She was maybe 5 ft away from me. I smiled and looked up and saw the moon even though there was only a little sun light from the sunset.

"You know I believe that there is a moon spirit that watches over us when we sleep." She turned her head to me but still didn't speak. "I think that when we are asleep she makes sure we're all safe. And if you can't sleep because you are troubled by something then she'll shine her light on you and you'll be calm to sleep."

"What makes you say that?" Akiza said while looking at the moon too. I smiled even bigger.

"Because she spoke to me." She quickly turned to face me and I knew she was probably questioning my sanity. I probably would too.

"What did she say?" Well that wasn't the words I thought she was gonna say. I looked at her and smiled even bigger! If that was even possible!

"She said that I was special and full of power." I pulled out my medalian and showed Akiza. "She also said that this pendant was given to me by someone close to me and in time I will see them again. I hope so." I didn't realize it but she had actually moved closer to me.

"Who gave it to you?" I dropped it back in my clothes. My smile turned into a sad one as I went back to staring at the moon.

"I don't know. You see I woke up yesterday without remembering a single thing. Not even my name. I technically still don't." I looked to the ground because it hurt so much. Not knowing who you were. I know I had all these "memories" in my head that Sayer showed me, but the felt so hollow and fake.

"You said your name was Cat Simmons."

"That's what Sayer said my name was. It feels so fake though. Like it's not my name at all! I feel so empty and like before yesterday I never existed! I want to know if I have a family or a life before the Arcadia Movement! Is that too much to ask?! Why do I have to not remember?! All I want is to remember?! Give me something!!!!" I had tears cascading down my face and sobs shook my body. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up to see Akiza had taken off her mask and was looking into my eyes. Even in her eyes I could see tears, but when I looked into them deeper I saw her pain as well. Mistreated and unaccepted by almost everyone. I can't feel sorry for myself when there's already someone worse then me.

"You okay?" I smiled and nodded. I can't let her worry. I have to be there for her and not worry about myself. My troubles come last.

"Yeah. Don't worry. I'm fine. Thanks." She had a small smile but it vanished. I need to get her to open up. "Hey Akiza. Let's be friends." She was utterly surprised to say the least. I could tell she was debating.

"I don't know. Sayer is the only one I know I can trust." Great! Mister Swoops! Why am I not surprised? But I can't give up yet.

"Akiza it's not wrong to trust more than one person. I know there's always going to be one person that you trust the most. But it's not wrong to have more friends. And I'm pretty sure you can trust me, after all I have no idea who I am!"

After maybe 2 minuets she nodded, I was super happy! I looked at the dumpster that was in front of us and saw all these long ribbons around for some reason. I crawled to them and saw there were seven each were a different color. Red, white, green, blue, orange, pink, and purple. I grabbed them and crawled back to Akiza.

I held them out to her and smiled. I grabbed the green one and put the others down. Then I grabbed Akiza's right hand and tied it around her wrist with the bow in front. She looked utterly confused I could tell. I smiled and said, "they are a symbol of our friendship! If we have them on then we can trust each other!" She looked at it then at the rest. She picked up the purple one and then my right hand also. She did the same thing I did and when she was done she had another small smile on. But her heart was still closed off. She doesn't trust me fully yet, but there is a spark.

"Friends?"

"Forever." We looked at each other and smiled. Suddenly there was a slow clapping sound coming from behind me. I turned and saw a guy standing at the entrance. He was short and sort of reminded me of a clown. He had green eyes and purple spiky hair, of course he did. He wore a red coat with gold trimming and a white shirt with gloves, and black and gold boots.

"Well wasn't that touching?" He said while still clapping.

"What do you want, clown boy?" I stood up trying to block Akiza.

"It's Lazar. And I suggest you don't upset me." He said with a little tick mark. He was loyal but untrustworthy. He was also hiding something. Something big.

"Or else what, clown boy?" Now I was just calling him that for fun.

"Because I am the assistant to Director Goodwin himself. And I came to give an invitation for you." He pulled out an envelope that was the same one Spiky had in his hands. Wait didn't Leo mention something about it being an invitation to some tournament. "The Director would like to invite you to the Fortune Cup."

"And if I refuse, clown boy." I didn't like the idea at all. I mean this Goodwin guy wants to invite me, a girl who can remember nothing, to a tournament? That doesn't sound right. Clown boy handed me the envelope then turned around and started walking out of the alley, but before he left he said something that was just the thing to get me mad.

"If you do there will be consequences, Cat Simmons. If that is your name." And that was all before he left. I looked down at the invitation and knew what I had to do. Spiky was going to be in the tournament and there I can ask him about this Cathy girl and what does she have to do with me.

"Your going to do it, aren't you?" Oh yeah Akiza was right behind me! I turned around and smiled at her.

"Yup! This Goodwin guy may know who I am and why I'm in this tournament. But don't worry I'll be fine!" She looked at me and I felt her being hesitant.

"I was invited also."

"What?! That's so awesome!!!!! That means we will get to face each other!"

"But what will you tell Sayer? He barely let me go?"

"Oh that'll be easy!" I said trying to reassure her.

Okay that was harder than I thought! If I didn't already hate this guy with a passion this was what took the cake! After I told him I got an invitation to the Fortune Cup he said no! He was saying that it would be bad for 2 psychic duelist to be at the the tournament! I told him that I wasn't a psychic duelist so there's nothing to worry about. Then he said that with my uniform on I would be definitely be labeled a psychic duelist. I literally had to plea and beg for him to let me go! Now that makes me sound like I was a little girl asking her dad to by a doll yet in the end he agreed, but only with a few conditions. Which are ridiculous!

1) I have to remain unknown for as long as I can.

2) I have to wear my cloak at all times.

3) I tell no one my name.

4) If I have to face Akiza, then I must surrender immediately.

5) I have to... Well I kinda stopped listening after Rule #4.

But they were so stupid! What was he thinking?! Oh I know, absolutely nothing!!!I just want to take a pair of scissor, cut off his stupidSWOOPY bangs, AND SMACK HIM WITH IT!!!!!!!

Anyway right now I'm in the limo with Akiza going to the stadium. I had my cloak on but my hood down. Akiza was wearing the outfit I first met her in and now the ribbon. I had mine on too and the others in my backpack. Yeah I brought a backpack with my duel disk, water, food, and my deck. Now that I think about I haven't heard my deck talk to me in awhile. Is that good or bad? Oh well.

When we arrived at the stadium we got out of the limo and walked through the entranced for competitors. I told Akiza I was gonna have a look around and I'll see her later. When I looked around I put my hood up so no one could see my eyes. When I kept walking I heard voices talking around the corner. They sounded really familiar.

I looked around the corner and I saw all the people that I saw 2 days ago! Well not exactly. There was a girl that looked like Leo but with pigtails and a pink shirt underneath her white jacket. Oh and a whole lot of makeup! Wait a minuet! When I looked into "her" eyes. I knew immediately that the "girl" was Leo!!!! Uh ok... I'm not gonna judge. I saw another person the same height as Leo. I could tell that was girl. Maybe that was who Leo was dressed up as.

(If words are italicized that means it's the MC talking through the microphone or a duel monster card.)

"Will all contestants please get ready." I ran away as fast as I could to the arena. When I got their I showed them the invitation and was told where to stand. There were 2 plat forms with 8 spots on each. I stood where I was supposed to and saw Akiza on the other platform. She saw me and I smiled nodded to her. Then the other contestants came. Here what the order to me was from left to right.

On my platform it was a girl with glasses and short blue hair. She had a school uniform on. Then there was another girl with brown hair with a big bow. She was wearing a short white dress. Then there was a big guy with dark green hair. Next was a small teenage boy with snowy blond hair. He wore a winter outfit. Next it was me. Next to me was Leo or girl Leo. I don't know I'm still trying to process him like this. Then Spiky. And next to him was a guy wearing a cloak also. That's my thing buddy!!!

On the other platform was Akiza. An old guy with a suit of armor on. Some guy that looked like a professor. Another guy with dark green hair and a gray suit. Then a guy in a ninja outfit. Next to him was a guy who looked like a magician. Then a guy who had a wild beast look. Last was a girl with purple hair and a kimono on. Suddenly the platforms were rising with us.

"And now it's time to introduce our contestants!" The MC said. "First is the lovely, Akiza Izinski! Then the strong, Sir Randsborg!" Guy in armor. "The Professor!" The well professor. "The analysts, Commander Koda!" Gray suit dude. "The sneaky, Lee Shang!" Ninja. "The mystical, Hypnosis Jones!" Magician. "The wild, Inu Howl!" Wolf boy. "The graceful, Sakura Hamada!" Kimono. Next was my platform.

"The bright, Amy Spears!" Schoolgirl. "The melodious, Melody Rocks!" Bow head. "The powerful, Greiger!" Buff guy. "The cold, Yukine!" Teenage boy. "The mysterious, Shira!" Other guy in cloak. "The beautiful, Luna!" Which was actually Leo. And he was not playing the girl part well. At all. "The brave, Yusei Fudo!" Suddenly the whole crowd became silent, and there were mumbles and whispers all over about his mark.

"So your names Yusei?" I heard Leo ask Yusei. That name is so familiar! It's on the tip of my tongue! "Jeez what's wrong with these people?!" I could tell Leo was mad and he was going to blow. I know I am.

"It's okay. Leave it alone." Was all Yusei said. How could he say that?! These people were literally down grading him because of his appearance!!!! Suddenly all the people were booing him and telling him to get of the stage! Then suddenly I could feel all the negative emotions everyone in the stands were letting out. It was so choking I couldn't help but want it to stop. And that was what I was going to do!

I walked off the platform and I knew that the other contestants were watching me. I walked to the MC and grabbed his microphone. He was stunned to say the least. I walked up to the band that was on a separate platform. I put the microphone to the lead guitarist's guitar. Then I blared the keys that went through the speakers all over the stadium and shook it. Everyone covered their ears. It was kind of funny. After that I decided to give these people a piece of my mind!

"Everyone, Well that worked. But now everyone's gonna know I'm a girl. Oh and Swoopy hair might be mad too, eh oh well. I continued speaking. "I want all of you to listen and listen good! You know what I see when I look at these 15 people?! Duelist! Duelist who were selected under the same conditions as me!!!" I point at Yusei who was looking up at me with wide eyes. I also saw the blond dude on top of the big platform, Jack I think, with the same expression. "It doesn't matter if you have a marker or not! Or even if your different from those around you! If you have a gosh darn deck your a duelist!!!! Got it?!?! And if any of you are going to go up to Yusei, or any of us for that matter, with all your hateful comments! Keep them to your self! Or else..."

I knew what I was going to do was going to have Señor Swoop on my but for awhile. But I don't care! I grabbed my hood and pulled it down. I glared at the camera as if I was glaring at the audience themselves. I could hear gasp all around the stadium. I heard whispers about my eyes and hair. Guess they've never seen a girl with blond hair and magenta streaks with piercing bright orange eyes before. I continued with my speech.

"YOU'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME!!!!!! As long as I have a deck and so do these contestants, I will stand up for them! GOT IT!?!?!?I have no idea where that anger or energy came from, but it felt good to let it go. I got off the stage and tossed the MC his microphone back. When I walked past the other competitors I looked at each of them in the eyes and either felt shock, gratitude, respect, or fear. Actually I felt that all over the whole stadium. When I got back to my spot, Leo was looking at me with an expression a kid makes when he sees his idol for the first time. Oh and he was crying which was totally adorable! I then looked at Yusei and smiled. His face was the funniest thing I've ever seen!

When I looked at the screens all over I realized my eyes were of course orange but had flecks of black and gold in them. Huh that's why people were gasping. I closed my eyes and tried to calm down. When I reopened them they were back to normal.

"Um well um th-thank you. Uh Miss... Miss... Wait we don't have a name for her?" The MC said. Now that's surprising! Sayer said he would tell them something to call me! "Uh you do have an invitation don't you?" I nodded and showed the envelope to them.

"Her name is Cat Simmons. If I am not mistaken?" I looked and saw a guy with long grey hair and green eyes. He wore a dark grey suit with a bird symbol on his chest. He was smiling at me and went up to me. I looked up at him and looked straight into his eyes. I also couldn't get a read on him. Great. "That is your name isn't it?"

"Yes. My name is Cat Simmons. Well that's what people have told me." I said while keeping my glare at him. I didn't know why, but there was something that didn't sit right with me.

"Well Ms. Simmons, that was a great speech. You are correct that we shouldn't judge people on their looks and past, but on who they are and what they may do for the future. I now hope you will give an especially fiery duel." I was shock. What's with this guy?! He literally turned my rant into one sentence! I kept staring into his eyes trying to see what he was hiding. He held out his hand and waiting for me to shake it. The crowd held their breaths wondering what I was gonna do. I smirked and grabbed his hand then we shook. The crowd literally went wild.

"With pleasure." He walked away and then the MC started talking again.

"Okay, now it's time to start the first round!!!!! Let's see who'll be up first to kick off this tournament!" On the screens appeared what was my face with Leo's! Or Luna's? I don't know! "Oh my! The cute, adorable, sweet, innocent Luna is facing off against the fiery, hot headed, bad mouth, girl with no filter-"

"Hey who you calling fiery, hot headed, bad mouth, girl with no filter?!?!?!" Jeez this guy was getting on my nerves!

"Uh yeah. Sorry. It will be Luna vs Cat!!! This match will happen in 10 minuets so don't go anywhere!" I walked away and was going to get something to drink. I saw a drinking fountain and got water from that. Man I can't believe that really happened. Why would I stick up for someone I don't know? But it felt so right. I wanted to be there for him and help him. Maybe I'm starting to crush on him? I mean he is sorta cute. Tall, dark, handsome, and not to mention oh so mysterious.

Woah hold on Cat! You can't feel like that for a guy you just met 2 days ago!!! I mean sure he seems familiar and if anything were to happen to me I can always know that he was going to help. And not to mention that his beautiful eyes remind me of my gem in the middle of my pendant. Or his dark black hair that is as black as the night. Or the yellow lightning streaks in the spikiness of his hair. It's just so... So... AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I splashed my head with the water and literally slapped my self when a familiar voice yelled my name. "Hey your Cat!" I looked and saw Leo running towards me. Or should I say Luna? Ugh I'm just gonna say Leo. Behind him was Yusei. Great just what I need!

"Hi Leo." He stopped immediately and looked at me with wide eyes. Oh yeah, he doesn't know that I know it's him.

"What are you talking about?!" He said while trying to act girly. Yeah not working.

"I know your not a girl. But don't worry, I won't tell anyone." I said while smirking. He wasn't sure at first but he smiled. I had to literally resist the urge to hug him to death! He was just too gosh darn adorable!!!! Even if he's a boy in girly clothes.
