AN: Hey y'all Happy Late New Year!!! I know this is very late from New Years soooo HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
I really wanted to get this done on New Years but school decided to say, "no" and now this is done in February, go figure... hey maybe the fluff is actually perfect for thus time of the year!!
And there are some nice fluff moments, and I wanted those there because the next few chapters are gonna be utter PAIN!!! So enjoy this now lol!
Anywho!! Thank you all so much for reading this chapter and sticking with this story for so long!! Hope you all enjoy and remember, I don't own Yugioh 5Ds, just the OCs!! Thank you!!
Last time on Yugioh 5Ds Lost Memories!! After seeing what was happening in Satellite, the fog that surrounded the whole area and the people disappearing, of course you can only follow that up with sleeping! Well at least tried to sleep, Void had other plans though. We tried training me with my powers, cause I'm hoping that if I can control them even a little bit before the big battle with the Dark Signers, I won't have to worry about them using my abilities against my friends. It didn't go so well after some visions became too much, but it was enough to get Yusei's attention. We talked and it was a long night of me crying and then Yusei telling what happened with us and Kalin when we're the Enforcers. I was grateful he was open to telling me. After we finally got some sleep, it was time to head out towards Satellite. It's time to face these Dark Signers and end all this suffering they're causing!
The helicopter soared still over the ocean that was between Satellite and New Domino City. I kept looking out the window as the city was getting further and further, and the dark bubble fog was getting closer. Until we entered inside it. It was like everything turned to night when it was still morning.
Instantly as we got into the clouds, the whole scenery had changed. Lightning strikes all around us and the clouds close around everything! Yet Trudge was kind of a good pilot to be able to keep the copter steady through all this. There was still some turbulence but it was manageable thank goodness.
Everyone was still silent as we rode. Jack looked out the window behind him, Yusei was staring intensely at the floor of the copter with his arms crossed. I looked at him before looking at Akiza who was also watching him. We can only assume he was thinking intensely on all that Goodwin said to us, especially about Yusei's father building the original Ener-D reactor.
I looked back at my own window before closing my eyes, 'Void, do you know anything about the Ener-D reactor.'
Luckily the male voice in my head was online as he answered,
'I guess that makes sense. But it's nothing new that Goodwin already told us.'
"Mina, you seem to know a lot." Akiza began to break the silence. I opened my eyes to look at the two girl's sitting next to each other. "Do you know anything about this Ener-D reactor?"
Okay could they have read my mind, I just was wondering about that!
"Not much, but I know that when the incident happened 17 years ago, they called it 'Zero Reverse'." Mina began explaining as we all listened to her. "It was an Energy reactor built under Satellite when it was still attached to the city. It malfunctioned and released an overwhelming amount of energy that separated it from the mainland. The group that formed it was called Reactor Research Division, or R.R.D., and the head of the whole project was Professor Fudo."

"Yusei's father..." I muttered to myself glancing down, before looking at Yusei.
"So when the Zero Reverse Accident happened," Leo spoke cautiously, looking over to Yusei through me, "your dad, he..."
He didn't have the heart to finish it, and I don't blame him. That is how Yusei lost his father...
Even if Yusei doesn't remember him as he was so young, I'm sure he still cares and loves him like his family. But even though now knowing his father was head of the project that gave way to the Dark Signers and Earthbound Immortals coming back. It must be a hard pill to swallow...
Learning deeper about your family and it's possible history...
I squeeze my backpack close to me. Remembering also the family history I got recently, and the possible lineage I have. With my own birth certificate inside the bag I brought closer.
"Hold on a minute! Why on earth would someone who was born as a low life in Satellite, be allowed as the head of such an important project?" Eyebrows questioned so outspoken, and being his stinking prejudiced self!
I glared at him while Jack spoke first before I could, "Yusei and his father were born in the city."
Trudge looked like a bombshell went off as he looked back at Yusei, "wait so are you saying that this Satellite scum isn't actually Satellite scum?!"
Okay! That's it!
"Listen to the darn history lesson! Satellite was once a part of the city, meaning that anyone who was born before the reactor exploded and broke Satellite off was technically born in the darn city!!"
"And I was born in Satellite," Jack defended glaring like me. "So you got a problem with that?!"
"Now keep your eyes up front, or else I'm going to eject you out of this chopper and fly it myself! Understand?!"
The officer did as he told, looking at Jack and I wide eyed and nodded, "yes ma'am and sir! Copy!"
Groaning but taking deep breaths, I tried to calm the fire within me. I heard a small chuckle to my left though and looked over at Leo and Luna who watched me with small smiles. I smiled back at them as we kept flying.
"Uhh quick thing though," Trudge interrupted again, making me move my head towards him again not wanting to deal with him anymore. Yet when he looked back at us, there was very much worry and fear in his eyes. "This lightning is very much not normal, if any hit us, we're all done for. Shouldn't we head back?"
Mina shook her head, "no! Our main objective is getting to Satellite, we can't retreat."
He looked back ahead, yet still glanced at Mina. His fear was replaced with attraction and longing, yuck!
Yusei however got up from his seat and went right next to our pilot, pointing ahead. "Land over there. By that building and park."
I got up from my seat as well, standing next to Yusei and looking over his shoulder wondering where he was pointing at, before I saw it! It was Martha's place!
"Yeah, head to that building!" I agreed, hopeful that if we landed there we could make sure her and the others were okay!
"Say what?! Since when do you two give me orders-"
I glared intensely once more at the loud man, my eyes probably burning fiercely, making him shut up. I will make good on my promise of ejecting this man out of this helicopter!!
"Quick Officer Trudge, do as they say." Mina pleaded, and at least he listens to her. But not without huffing and grumbling, before he moved this bird over to the rundown childhood home of Jack, Yusei, and I.

'Please everyone, be okay...'
The copter began lowering before it finally landed down right in front of our home. I grinned when immediately from the front door emerged Martha, Blister, and a few of the kids. I could feel they were so confused and curious by the sudden copter landing in their front yard.
Grinning, I grabbed my backpack and went to the hatch that was opening with the others. We exited the chopper, as Yusei and I waved to them.
"Hey everybody," I called out to them while we stepped down. "You guys miss us?!"
Everyone smiled when they saw us, and Martha immediately ran over to greet us. Especially when she saw Jack come out next to me. "Jack! Your home!"
"Hi Martha." He greeted as she came up to him and patted his arm, speaking to him like a child.
"Oh look how much you've grown, and I can tell you've gotten stronger. Definitely been eating healthy while you were away, I can tell."
Jack looked to the side, almost ashamed, "well it has been quite some time since I left..."
'Yeah since he left, stealing Yusei's Stardust Dragon and tossing Rally into a boat in the raging ocean!'
"It has, but I'm sure you haven't changed too much. Do that little prince routine you used to do all the time." Martha lifted her hand like waiting for him to kiss it, and Jack's expression turned absolutely mortified!
I could even hear Yusei chuckle a little as I myself could not stop grinning, before it turned to a playful smirk, "oh what 'Prince Routine'? Now this I got to see~."
The blond man just glared daggers at me, before grumbling a little and doing as Martha said. He got down on one knee and bowed, before speaking oh so nobly, "greetings to the fairest of maidens. May this humble prince kiss your hand?"
He then took Martha's outstretched hand and kissed the back of it gently, shocking and making everyone dumbfounded. But I just began snickering like a little kid, covering my mouth with my own hand.
"Oh Jack you're still just as sweet and cute as the little prince you once were!" Martha laughed cheerfully before hugging him tightly, much to his more embarrassment.
"Martha, please..." He wheezed out, and I just lost it.
I began laughing so hard my sides began to hurt!! "Oh my gosh they should call you 'The Prince' instead of the 'King' back in New Domino City!!" I cracked up so hard.
"Would you leave me alone Cathy!" Jack groaned to me while I ignored him.
"Where was a camera when you need it?! That needed to be recorded!" I then slid to Jack innocently smiling, "would you mind doing that to me, oh little prince Jack? I believe I am also a fair maiden~."
I just kept wanting to tease him so much, but my ears began to hear Luna and Leo talk still by the helicopter. "I thought everyone in Satellite would be a lot scarier and gloomy." Leo spoke as I walked over to them.
Luna added, "yeah, but everyone seems so happy and nice."
"Oh come on you guys, I'm from Satellite and you know me. I'm not scary or gloomy."
"Please, did you forget what you did back in the Fortune Cup?" Trudge responded to me as I rolled my eyes at him. "Besides, everyone here is still a liar and thief."
"Well it's definitely a way to make a living, officer." Blister came over to us, and Trudge immediately seemed to recognize him.
I let them chat though, while watching the kids all excited to see Yusei, still talking to the twins. "You have to keep an open mind. Don't just assume someone's personality over the rumors you hear back at the city."
My advice to them, I could tell, made Luna and Leo think a little. I opened my mouth to say something else, that was until two specific children's voices called out from the entrance of the house. "Cathy?!"
I looked back to see Annie and Itsuki running from the front door, over to us when they saw that it was me. "Cathy! You're back!"
I beamed at seeing them again! They were safe and sound, the Dark Signers didn't get to them, "I promised I would come back soon!"
Running over to the siblings, I knelt down just as they hugged me. Hugging them back tightly. "We missed you so much though!" Annie whined.
Letting them go, I got back up, "I'm sorry. But were you both good for Martha and Blister?"
Itsuki answered, "yeah! Blister even showed me some cool new dueling tricks!"
"I see!" I chuckled, rubbing his hair on his head, messing with it, "you'd have to show me what you learned in a duel soon then!"
He laughed before an idea came to me, "oh right! There's some new kids I want you to meet."
Walking back over to Luna and Leo who were watching me and the Satellite kids close to me, I began to introduce my original self proclaimed adopted children to my city self proclaimed adopted children!
"Annie, Itsuki, this is Leo and Luna. I met them in the City and they are helping Yusei and I defeat the bad guys here in Satellite. Luna, Leo, these are the kids I was raising here in Satellite."
Leo gasped and stared up at me shocked, "you have kids?! Is Yusei the father?!"
I think my whole face turned as red as a volcano as to what the heck Leo just said!!!
Mentally screaming in my head, then grabbing Leo in a headlock! I began to noogie the top of his head!! "What the heck are you talking about?! I'm sixteen you brat!!!"
"But you and Yusei are so close, I thought, maybe joint custody!!" Leo laughed loudly trying to get more of a rise out of me!!
"Have you no shame?! We're just friends!!"
Annie, Itsuki and Luna were all just laughing at my dismay.
"I think it would be cool though to have the new Champion as a step father." Itsuki added on innocently, stuffing his hands in his shorts pockets.
"You are not helping!"
Letting go of Leo now, I tried to rub the red away from my cheeks. I would need to splash some water on them to cool them down. I took a quick glance though at Yusei who was still with the other kids. Our eyes met as he was watching what just happened, and that did not help with my face!!
I looked away groaning internally, 'someone please just end my suffering!!'
"So are you really helping with Cathy and Yusei?" Annie asked in her childlike innocent tone.
Itsuki got more excited and went over to Luna, "does that mean you guys are Signers too?"
Martha or Crow must've explained to him a little more of the situation going on. Leo went right back to being next to Luna and grinned at his twin sister, "I'm sadly not, even though I'm still a pretty awesome duelist. But my sister Luna here is a Signer! She's going to kick all those Dark Signers' butts!"
He cheered while Luna smiled at her brother, "thanks Leo." She said before rolling up her right sleeve to show the kid around their age and Annie her red Signer mark. They stared at the mark in awe until Itsuki looked at Luna grinning.
"That's so cool, you must be a super strong duelist! Maybe you can duel me some time?!"
Luna had a nervous but kind laugh, "I don't duel often but we can soon!"
This made Itsuki even more happy at the thought of dueling a Signer.
Leo chuckled, speaking once more, acting all proud, "I practically taught her everything she knows about dueling."
"No you didn't." Luna sighed, shaking her head making the other siblings laugh.
I smiled and hummed happily that they seemed to be getting along. I let the children talk to each other and looked around, spotting that even Trudge was conversing with one of the other orphaned kids, a dark teal haired kid who wore a yellow jacket over a red shirt and shorts. Taka I believe his name was.
His eyes were shining brightly with admiration looking up at the loud officer, yet even with Trudge's prejudice with Satellite residents, he was smiling and talking to the kid. He had pride and smugness in his emotions, which I can only imagine what they were talking about.
Looking back over to Yusei, the kids that were surrounding him earlier were now chatting with Jack. Yusei was talking to Martha, and I made it my business knowing what they were talking about.
Walking over to the two; I stood next to Yusei, standing not too close to him since I'm still not recovered from Leo's teasing! But overhearing Martha speak to him about something.
"Something happened here Yusei, something that I'm not sure what it was..." She sounded so worried and concerned, her eyes not hiding her fear either.
We all went inside, as Martha wanted to explain to us what happened yesterday inside the house so as to not spook the children.
Jack, Yusei, Akiza, Leo and Luna, with Blister, Trudge, Mina and I all sat at the dining table. Martha at the head and I at the foot of the table.
Seated in chairs, she began to explain the events. "Yesterday, a strange black fog appeared out of nowhere and covered Satellite almost completely. When it seemed to have finally cleared, anyone who was caught in the fog when it came down had just completely vanished..."
"What do you mean by vanished?" Yusei asked.
Martha's eyebrows stitched together as she stared down at her hands in front of her. "It was like they were just right there, then we blinked and they were just gone... I count our blessings that the fog luckily didn't reach us here, so we were all safe..."
"But we're not so sure about the others," Blister continued. "Rally, Blitz, Nervin, Tank, or even Crow haven't returned at all."
I had to hold in my shock, as I just rubbed my chin with my hand... While Yusei and Jack conveyed their thoughts.
"Are you sure?"
"It's sadly true, Yusei... I fear something terrible has happened to them, even if I want it to not be true." Martha sorrowfully answered.
'They must've been taken by the Dark Signers, but how?! How does a dark fog just take people?' I thought carefully, gripping my hands tightly. 'These Dark Signers... They need to be taken out, and fast!'
"Are those people your guy's friends?" Leo asked, concerned looking at Yusei and I.
We both nodded sadly, making the boy look even more worried, as well as the others. It made sense, we just saw our old friends, I met them once more after forgetting who they were in the first place... And now they're just gone.
"Oh, are you perhaps Akiza Izinski? Congressman Hideo Izinski's daughter?" Martha suddenly questioned. When I looked up from staring at the table, Martha was looking over at Akiza.
She smiled back at the older woman and nodded, "yes ma'am. That's me."
This made Martha smile more, "you have made quite the impression on my dear Yusei and Cathy."
Grinning, now trying to lighten the mood, I scooted my chair closer to Akiza, linking my arm through her's. "You got that right! She now can't get rid of us, even if she wanted to!"
Jokingly resting my head on Akiza's shoulder, as I looked up at her innocently, Akiza looked at me chuckling lightly. But yeah she knows I'm right!
"I'm glad that they helped you, Akiza. Just be careful now, cause Cathy will make good use of that promise when you finally want to escape her." I scrunched my nose to Martha at her words. But I did let Akiza go yet stayed close to the psychic duelist. She spoke once more directly to Yusei who I caught smiling and watching us. "And how are you doing Yusei? Are you still afraid of facing off against Kalin?"
"I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a little fear in me still," Yusei spoke seriously once more, "his Earthbound Immortal is what still scares me. A card being that powerful, who wouldn't be? But I'm no longer afraid to face him just because he was once my friend. Now I have new friends who make me better and stronger."
I grinned at his optimism of this 'power of friendship'! Though Jack ruined the mood when he just bluntly stated with, "let's get something straight here Yusei, I am not your friend. I'm only here to get back at the Dark Signers."

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
