Lucy and Cana are shocked that they have to fight two members of the Thunder Legion and Bickslow says that only the winning group can go through. Freed apologizes to Cana, says that is as far as she goes and that he will be the one to take Laxus' place. Cana gets her resolve together and says that they have their own reasons for becoming S-Class and tells Lucy that they are going to do this.

Freed: "Before we begin, would you ladies mind covering up a little"

Bickslow: "Come on man. It's better this way, what's the problem ?"

Bickslow's dolls: "Bouncy. Bouncy"

Freed: *flustered* "Its distracting now please cover up"

Cana: *takes out a card* "Oh. A little shy are we"

Cana takes advantage of the opportunity and throws her at Freed, girls in bikinis come out from them, which stop him and hold him down.

Cana: "That will make this super easy"

Freed: *flustered* "What sort of vulgar sorcery is this! Summoning bikini babes!"

"For some reason I'm suddenly jealous of Freed and feel like I'm missing something glorious"

Bickslow: "You have any idea how many men would kill for that power. Puss will literally kill anyone for this"

Lucy asks what is happening and Cana responds that Freed is weak towards women. Lucy summons Virgo in a bikini outfit, hoping to distract Bickslow, but Virgo defeated by his dolls. These dolls also work to attack Lucy and Cana and they narrowly dodge them. Lucy makes a comeback with Aries and disarms Bickslow, allowing her to attack with Lucy Kick. However, the effect of the wears off and Freed starts to get serious again, overpowering the two. Cana throws several cards at Freed but they miss. Cana uses to try to attack Freed, but she fails. Lucy realizes that she has found a water source and goes for it, but Cana tells her not to since it is dangerous to touch it. Lucy responds that it's alright, put one of her keys on the water, and summons Aquarius.

Freed: "ANOTHER BIKINI BABE!!!"

"What are these tears for ? Which glorious sight am I missing ?"

Aquarius attacks both Lucy and Cana.

Lucy: "That hurt. You got sponge for brains!" *points at Freed* "Look he's the enemy!"

Aquarius: "Every time I see you, you're wearing less and less. Hmph little Lucy thinks she can seduce a man huh ? Good luck with that scrawny bod"

Cana: *tickmarks on head* "You looking to get battered and deep fried!"

Aquarius: *tickmarks on head* "Huh!"

Lucy: *raising her hands* "I'm staying out of this"

Cana: *tickmarks on head* "CAN YOU NOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FRIENDS AND ENEMIES!!!"

Both of them start sharing a lightning spark from their eyes,

Aquarius leaves the scene. However, they manage to defeat Freed by caging him first into a huge wall of sexy ladies from the and then tricking him into stepping into a card trap that electrocutes him.

The passage opens and lets Cana and Lucy through, making them pass the first trial. A little later after both Lucy and Cana leave, Bickslow gets up.

Bickslow: "You sure this was for the best ? You lost S-Class"

Freed: *gets up* "I'm sure. If it had been anyone else I would have given the fight my all but I feel like I those two owe a debt of sorts. Giving them this victory seems like a fair way to pay it off"

Bickslow: "Whatever, we put on a killer show but to be honest I think you got the better end of the deal"

Freed: "Perhaps"

Bickslow: "I am surprised. I mean weren't you dead-set on following in Laxus's footsteps"

Freed: "I would like to but that's not what's most important to me" *faces Bickslow* "Being at Fairy Tail is all that matters. Besides I have no doubt that Laxus will return one day"

Bickslow: "I can't believe it. Those girls hit the jackpot, what are the odds they would run into us. I guess they're pretty lucky after all"

Meanwhile, Natsu treads on Path E, insisting that Erza should come out and fight him. Despite Happy saying that they can't know for sure it's Erza, Natsu keeps on yelling out her name. However, his conjecture was proven wrong when he runs into none other than Gildarts.

Natsu: *eyes popped out* "NO FREAKING WAY !!!"

Happy: *eyes popped out* "AHHHH !!!"

Gildarts: "Sorry. Dead end, luck just ain't on your side"

Happy: *crying* "We're dead"

Gildarts: *walks towards Natsu* "I should warn you. I've never been good at holding back in a fight. So this will be quick"

Gildarts stops as he sees Natsu engulfed in flames.

Happy: "Natsu ?"

Natsu: *snickering* "Oh yeah, I'm fired up now!"

Gildarts just smiles as he remembers not too long ago a dark gray haired boy had the same expression on his face at the trials.

In Route D, Juvia and Lisanna battle Erza. The two seem tired and battered but still try their best to overcome Erza's strength and advantage over Juvia because of her Sea Empress Armor.

"I feel like I'm missing another glorious site but this time the bro code is stopping me from being jealous. I wonder why ?"

However, Erza anticipates Juvia's sneak attacks and easily dodges Lisanna's tackles due to her having troubles with distance.

Erza: "I'm disappointed in you Juvia" *releases aura* "You've got to be more creative, attacking your opponent while fighting with your teammate is the most obvious two-on-one strategy you could have chosen. Not only that but as you've witnessed, it's easily thwarted. I expected much more. When we first met at the Tower Of Heaven you were full of determination and spirit. There was a fire in your eyes. Where is that fire now ? Tell me !" *attacks both Juvia and Lisanna*

Meanwhile, in Route A, Elfman and Evergreen,

Elfman: "Great we are so screwed"

Both of them are terrified at the prospect of facing Mirajane in her .

Natsu: *smacking his fist in palm* "Have some faith in me little buddy. If you really think about it Gildarts should be scared of me, I'm gonna kick his butt and I won't let up till I hear him say mercy"

Gildarts: *deadpan* "Fine mercy"

Natsu: *eyes popped out* "DON'T ACT LIKE (Y/n) I HAVEN'T EVEN LAID A HAND ON YOU !!!" *igniting fists* "I'm coming for you Gildarts ! I have gotten a heck of a lot more stronger in the past three years and I can't wait to show ya !" *runs towards Gildarts*

Gildarts: *holding his hand up* "Now wait one minute Natsu. Hey try to calm down would you ? I'm not ready to begin our fight just yet, stay back"

Happy: "You shouldn't rush at him like that Natsu ! He can pulverize his opponents !"

Natsu charges anyway and attacks with a that Gildarts manages to stop with his bare hands. Gildarts then attacks with his magic, causing Happy to think that Natsu has been blown to pieces. However, Natsu appears from above and, with his body covered in flames, attacks Gildarts but Gildarts manages to crush the ground, saving himself from Natsu's attack. Natsu doesn't give up and continues to attack Gildarts with his fists covered in flames. Gildarts manages to defend himself and attack Natsu at the same time. Natsu tries to retaliate but Gildarts is able to stop his attacks. Happy watches, seeing Natsu's face, serious yet smiling. Natsu then attacks with a that Gildarts manages to destroy with his . However, Gildarts accidentally used his magic on Natsu too and Natsu vanishes.

Happy: "Natsu ?"

Gildarts: "Crap! I overdid it"

Happy: *tears in eyes* "You jerk, I will never forgive you. This was just supposed to be a test, you killed him"

Gildarts: "Relax, I seriously doubt he's dead, wasn't that kind of magic. Look up"

Suddenly, multiple mini-Natsus fall from the sky.

Gildarts: "This assembly magic breaks it target down into little pieces"

Happy: *eyes popped out* "THERE'S A TON OF NATSUS !!!"

All of the mini-Natsus pile up near Happy who is panicking,

Gildarts: "Don't worry he will go back to normal in a bit. Unfortunately this means your test is over now Natsu. Sorry but I can't let you"

However, the mini-Natsus awaken, telling Gildarts that they have not given up and to not underestimate them. The mini-Natsus charge, thinking that Gildarts' Magic backfired on him. Gildarts is dumbfounded, since it is the first time that an opponent dares to fight him in that state. The mini-Natsus charge at Gildarts and Gildarts pulls out his cape and defeats multiple of them at the same time. However, the other mini-Natsus continue to attack,

Mini-Natsus attack him with their mini- simultaneously. Annoyed, Gildarts returns Natsu to normal and Natsu immediately attacks him with his , causing an explosion. As the smoke clears, Natsu is overjoyed when he saw that he was able to make Gildarts move from his original position.

Gildarts: "Wow this day is getting more nostalgic by the minute"

Gildarts remembers that this the second time a person had actually managed to make him move from an attack, with the first one being (Y/n).

Gildarts: "Very impressive work Natsu. This gave me a full view of your skill level. You may not have defeated me in battle but as your examiner I think you deserve to move onto the next round"

Gildarts then releases him magic power which can be felt throughout the island.

All of a sudden a vast amount of magic power is being released and after a long time I have gotten this feeling, the feeling of fear and being intimidated

This aura makes the ground crack and emanates an incredible amount of intimidating magic power. Natsu is surprised with Gildarts' actions and tries to attack him but begins to tremble even before he can land a punch.

Natsu drops to his knees and admits defeat while Happy watches him, his eyes sparkling with tears. Gildarts remembers himself being in Natsu's position many years back when facing Marquesa, (Y/n)'s mother.

Gildarts: "A wise choice, I applaud anyone who has the courage to stand up and face their enemies. However the wizards who are the most courageous are those exceptional few who know when to stand down. Remember Natsu there's nothing wrong with feeling fear after all how else would we come to know our own weaknesses. You need to know them in order to become a stronger and a gentler person. Meanwhile Panther Lily and Carla fly over to Tenrou Island as Carla is worried about Wendy Marvell's welfare. She tells him about last week, when Mest asked Wendy to be his partner in the trial. Carla found Mest weird and opposed their partnership, but since Mest told Wendy that he was Mystogan's disciple, Wendy decided to help him out in Mystogan's stead. Carla and Panther Lily went to Tenrou Island to watch over them since Carla has a bad feeling over the exam as a whole, while Panther Lily thinks there's something odd about what Mest said that he was Mystogan's disciple.

Gray and Loke manage to arrive at the island and choose a path, where they encounter Mest and Wendy.

Mest: "You two, I want to know do your skills warrant such cockiness"

Wendy: "Be careful here they come"

Loke attacks Mest with a -powered punch. Mest defends himself against the attack and detaches himself from Loke.

Loke: "I don't give a crap about Mest but I feel kinda bad kicking your butt Wendy"

Gray attacks Mest with an . The attack seems to have hit Mest, but Mest suddenly appears behind Gray and kicks him. Gray blocks the attack and engages Mest once more. Meanwhile, Wendy attacks Loke with a , but Loke counters by concentrating into a blast of magic power. Gray interrupts the fight by turning the floor into ice, causing Wendy to slip and fall. Mest goes to aid Wendy, attacking Gray. Loke attacks Mest with a but misses, hitting a boulder as Mest suddenly appears behind him. Loke sees Mest about to attack him and blinds him with . Gray then uses his to defeat Mest, causing him to fall unconscious.

With Mest defeated, Gray and Loke turn their attention to Wendy.
