Puss in his human form confronts Mest and demands to know his true identity.

Wendy: "Stop it! What's gotten into you guys?"

Puss: *pointing his rapier at Mest* "Tell me who you really are?!"

Mest: "Uh, what do you mean!"

Puss: "I have this gut feeling that the magic you use enables you to manipulate people's memories. If my feeling is anything to go by, you have been using it to act as member of Fairy Tail since before the trial. Too many things don't add up such as you being Mystogan's pupil, no one has any real impression of you besides you being in the previous year's trial, neither you are mentioned in the guild records but most importantly. You didn't knew the meaning of the signal flare. So there's no way you can talk out of this one"

Suddenly, Mest disappears from Puss's grasp and appears in front of Wendy.

Puss: "Teleportation magic, Wendy!"

Wendy: "What's wrong with him!"

Panther Lily is about to shift into his Battle Mode just as Mest grabs Wendy and jumps to the side just as someone attacks the group. Panther Lily protects Carla and Puss jumps out of the blast zone.

More explosions occur and Mest protect Wendy,

Carla: "He protected her? But why?"

Mest: "Who are you?! Show yourself?!"

The group sees a figure emerging from a tree,

??: "I am from Grimoire Heart, name's Azuma. I am one of of the Seven Kin of Purgatory"

Wendy: "Grimoire Heart?"

Puss: *wide-eyed* "The Seven Kin!"

Mest: "So that's what the flare was, someone must have run into more of these freaks"

Azuma: "A bit too late to be worrying about your friends"

Panther Lily: "How dare you! What's going on here?!"

Mest: "I thought if I was going to find any dirt on the Fairy Tail guild, the most logical place to find would be here it's sacred ground but to find Zeref and Grimoire Heart as well. Talk about hitting the jackpot, must be my lucky day"

Mest: *smirking* "Come on isn't it obvious, I work for the magic council. I infiltrated your ranks to get intel that will bring you down, once and for all"

I even have the council's custody enforcement unit's battleships on standby. Once the dark guild makes landfall it will be game over for them. Mest's hopes are dampened by Azuma who makes all the ships outside suddenly explode.

Azuma extends his hand forward, and the area directly in front of the user is engulfed in an explosion. However Puss is unscathed and comes out,

Puss performs a circular swing that launches the air into a compressed projectile spiraling towards the Azuma which not only disperses his explosion but even manages to knock back Azuma, surprising everyone including Azuma.

Panther Lily: "Puss can use spells like that?!"

Wendy: "I forgot about Puss's sword skills, he's so cool"

Mest: "That cat can do stuff like this?!"

Carla: "Puss..."

However as he is knocked back small sparks around Puss causes a huge explosion that blows Wendy, Carla, Panther Lily and Mest away.

Puss: "This is bad, Lily is good but without his sword his brute strength won't be of much help"

Panther Lily: "If only I had a sword"

Wendy: *gets up* "Don't you worry, you're not in this alone" *starts enchanting* "

A magic circle appears below both Puss and Panther Lily,

As Panther Lily and Azuma battle,

Wendy: "Mest I know how to take this guy down but I will need your help to do"

Panther Lily performs a downward flying kick whereas Puss does an upward slash with his sword which Azuma barely manages to avoid.

Mest: "No weren't you listening before, I am not your ally I'm with the council"

Wendy: "Do you think who you work for matters to me! All I care about is protecting Fairy Tail, please help me do that"

Mest: "I only came to this island so I could destroy Fairy Tail and further my career"

As Panther Lily and Puss dodge another one of Azuma's attacks,

Carla: "Puss! Lily! Go up!"

Azuma extends both arms out to his sides, creating an enormous tower of explosive flames in their immediate vicinity defeating the group.

The group is thrown far off from the cliff side each of them clearly injured both Panther Lily and Puss transform back into their smaller respective Exceed forms,

Puss: "Are you kidding me?"

Mest: "I never imagined The Seven Kin of Purgatory would possess such power"

Azuma: "This guild, are cats and children it's only defense"

Mest: "There are six more of these guys! We are doomed, Fairy Tail doesn't stand a chance"

The airship of Grimoire Heart continues to approach the island.

Zancrow: *looking at Ultear* "Nice outfit. Gets me fired up and ready to cut loose"

Caprico: "Zancrow, you should be taking this battle seriously"

Makarov: *noticing Caprico fly* "Run if you like but there is no escape!" * stance* "I'm going to give you till the count of three to get out of my sight, otherwise you and your comrades will see the other side of oblivion"

Hades: "The ultimate magic spell that vanquishes everyone whom the caster deems to be a foe"

After Azuma leaves, Natsu and Happy, having heard the explosion of Azuma's arrive and go to the side of their defeated comrades,

The members also include the rest of Seven Kin who are now scattered across the island.

Makarov: "And that's three!"

As Makarov is about to activate , Hades appears on top of the airship,

Hades: "Don't be so hasty"
