《y/n fujioka ||haruhi fujioka's sister||》||51||

Haruhi stood behind the group of seven males, sweat dropping as her shoulders slouched. "I really don't think we should be spying on them."
"Shh!" Ranka hushed and pushed his sunglasses up the bridge of his nose. "I'm here because your sister decided not to tell me about this date and I'm her father, I should have the right to know. Does Y/n not trust me?"
The Host Club and Ranka were positioned at the back of a utility pole, across the street from the café Y/n and Minato were in, staring through the window from afar.
"Why didn't Y/n-Chan want to tell us?" Honey questioned as he held his pink stuffed bunny, Usa-Chan, making Mori let out a hum as to say that he didn't understand why either.
Hikaru crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't know, but the boss isn't handling it very well." He pointed his thumb over his shoulder at the blond haired male who was crouching down in front of a shop, a glum aura surrounding him.
Haruhi exhaled heavily, her back becoming hunched while her arms laid limply by her sides, reviewing the previous eight minutes before she was dragged to surveillance Y/n's date.
It has been approximately five minutes since Y/n left the apartment for her date with Minato. Haruhi was currently doing laundry so she could keep herself busy.
Suddenly there was a knock on the front door, making Haruhi raise an eyebrow and leave behind the laundry she was doing as she walked towards the entrance to her accommodation. She opened the door, revealing six familiar male high schoolers.
"Hi, Haruhi!" Tamaki greeted with a wide smile, the rest of the Host Club standing behind him as Honey and the twins grinned.
"Uh, hey?" Haruhi uttered halfheartedly. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you guys doing here?"
"Haruhi, who's at the door?" Ranka departed from his bedroom and advanced to where his daughter stood, catching sight of the Host Club. "Oh. Hello, boys." He displayed a closed eyed smile. "What are you guys doing here?"
"We're here because we want to spend some time with Haru-Chan and Y/n-Chan!" Honey smiled brightly.
"No, thanks." Haruhi declined, making Tamaki, the twins, and Honey flinch at her quick reply. "I have laundry to do and Y/n isn't even here."
"Huh? She isn't?" Ranka glanced down at his daughter, finally realizing that his other child was nowhere to be seen. "Where did she go?"
Haruhi looked up at her father as she answered his question with the rehearsed sentence. "She went to help someone from school study."
"Mhm. Are you certain about that, Haruhi?" Kyoya challenged smoothly, adjusting his glasses that lounged on his nose.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" Haruhi quizzed, beginning to feel nervous as she waited for her upperclassman's justification.
Nothing could get passed Kyoya Ootori. Absolutely nothing.
"Well, correct me if I'm mistaken, I thought Y/n scheduled a date with a young man that was supposed to be taking place today." Kyoya concluded with his hands in his pockets.
"What?!" Ranka, Tamaki, and the twins exclaimed.
The father of two spun his head to look at Haruhi. "Is this true?!"
"Uuhh..." Haruhi trailed off, sweat forming on her forehead as all eyes went to her. "No."
A small condescending smirk materialized on Kyoya's lips as he pulled out his black notebook and opened it. "Souta Minato, he's in class 2-A. He has dark brown hair and green eyes. After a young woman rejects him, he immediately offers another girl to accompany him somewhere for a date--however, his feelings of adoration for the women he has asked out are thoroughly authentic. He tends to focus on many females, even if he's in a relationship with someone." He closed his notebook with the hand he was holding it with after reading the description. "I believe that he asked Y/n out on a date, am I right?"

Haruhi's brown eyes widened in slight disbelief. 'How did he find out?' She thought in alarm.
"What?! My little girl is on a date with a women-hopper right now?!" The maroon haired man placed his hands on his cheeks in dread. "Haruhi, why didn't you tell me that your sister is on a date?!" He demanded, steam practically gusting out of his ears.
Haruhi sweat dropped and directed her attention to the raven haired male who wore spectacles. "How did you know about Y/n's date, Kyoya-Senpai?"
"I was aware of it ever since Minato asked her." Kyoya acknowledged coolly, one of his hands resting on his hips while his other one remained in the pocket of his pants.
"Eh?!" Tamaki and the twins shouted, glaring daggers at the dark haired second year. "Why didn't you tell us?!"
Kyoya showed a miniature, closed eyed smile. "What would be the fun in that? I wanted to wait and see how this would turn out."
Ranka swiftly grabbed a pair of sunglasses that were on the kitchen counter and slipped them on over his brown eyes, afterwards putting on his footwear. "Haruhi, put on your shoes and take us to where Y/n is."
Haruhi's eyebrow faintly twitched at her and Y/n's defeat--although, Y/n has yet to discover her loss. 'I still can't believe Kyoya-Senpai knew about this the entire time. Yet again, he does somehow know everything...'
"Look! She's on the move!" The twins briskly pointed their index finger to the café window, making everyone's gaze turn to the wavy haired female, who was getting up from her chair.
Y/n caught the attention of Minato as they made eye contact with each other. "I'll be right back. I'm just going to the restroom for a moment."
"Okay." Minato nodded with a small smile.
Y/n walked away from the table and approached the ladies restroom. She pushed open the door and entered the clean bathroom. The brown haired girl stopped in front of the counter that held three sinks, behind her were two toilet stalls. She looked at her reflection that was exhibited in the horizontal, rectangular mirror that was attached to the wall.
She sighed and turned on the sink that was in the middle of the countertop and began to wash her hands. 'I just want this date to end. Minato-Senpai is basically drooling over our waitress. I don't think a date is supposed to be like this.'
She turned off the sink, making the water stop flowing out of the faucet. She gathered a couple of paper towels that were in the paper towel dispenser and dried her hands off, soon tossing them in the bin-basket. She pulled the bathroom door open and left, proceeding towards her table, noticing that their two orders were laying upon the wooden surface.
Y/n sat down on the chair she was previously sitting on. 'Aki must've brought our food when I was in the bathroom.' She presumed, taking a sip of her vanilla latte.
She glanced at the young man in front of her and witnessed his emerald-green eyes staring off at something that was a couple of feet away from them. She followed his gaze and her brown eyes landed on a young woman who was seated at a table drinking coffee with a book in her hand.
For the second time that day, her eyebrow jerked as annoyance consumed her veins. 'Oh my god! What is up with this guy?! Unbelievable.'
Meanwhile, across the street from the café, Mori grasped onto Tamaki and the twins as Haruhi tried to keep her father in place.

"He's not even paying attention to my daughter!" Ranka roared angrily. "What kind of punk asks a girl out and doesn't pay any attention to her?!"
"Calm down, dad!" Haruhi urged, her arms were wrapped around Ranka's left arm. Even though she was attempting to compose her father, she, too, was rather displeased about the scene in the café.
"No, he's right, Haruhi." Tamaki began in exasperation. "When a man asks a woman out on a date, the man should never concentrate on another woman that isn't the one he was accompanied with!" He as well as the twins struggled in Mori's firm hold.
Y/n looked down at her half eaten eclair as awkward silence organized between her and Minato. Nevertheless, Minato did ask Y/n some questions that were appropriate for a first date.
"Are you having a good time on our date?" He inquired, completely unmindful of the female's disposition.
"Yeah, this date is...fantastic." Y/n lied through her toothy grin.
"That's good to hear." He smiled in relief. "So, what do you want to do after you graduate from high school?"
"Oh, um..." Y/n began, looking down at her lap before staring back at him. "I would like to go to medical school and study to become a doctor."
"That's a great career path." Minato commented. "I'm the next in line to take over my family's business."
"What's your family's business?" Y/n questioned.
"We're a successful water company."
Y/n chuckled halfheartedly. "That's...refreshing."
"Yeah, it is." Minato laughed and once again silence engrossed the two teenagers.
Aki walked up to their table with a kindhearted smile, breaking the soundless atmosphere. "Are you guys doing okay? Would you like anything else?"
Minato looked at Y/n, but she just shook her head. "No. We would just like the check, please."
"Okay!" Aki smiled and walked away to get the bill, making Y/n pull out her wallet from the left front pocket of her jeans, catching the attention of the young man seated in front of her.
"What are you doing?" He quizzed.
"Taking my wallet out so I can pay for what I ordered." Y/n answered with a simple shrug.
"No, it's okay. I'm paying." Minato insisted, slightly lifting his hand in dismissal.
"It's fine, Minato-Senpai." Y/n smiled politely. "I'll pay for my stuff and you can pay for your order."
Aki advanced back to the table with the bill in her hand, placing it down on the surface. "It was nice serving you two. Enjoy the rest of your day!" She bowed respectfully and walked away with a smile.
Y/n examined the cost of her eclair and vanilla latte, taking out the amount of money she needed from her wallet. She placed the money in the checkbook, Minato doing the same thing with his money.
"We should probably leave now." Kyoya spoke, making Ranka, Tamaki, and the twins cease their rambling.
"Why, Kyo-Chan?" Honey asked, looking up at the raven haired male curiously.
His brownish-grey eyes were closed as he directed his finger to the coffee shop. "Because Y/n and her date are about to exit the café."
They all gazed over at the café window and noticed that Y/n and Minato finished paying for their orders and was about to get up from their chairs.
The Host Club and Ranka rushed away to the black limousine that was parked on the end of the street, making the driver take a shortcut back to the Fujioka residence and wait for the wavy haired girls arrival.
Y/n and Minato exited Latte Café and approached the limousine that was patiently waiting for them in front of the coffee shop.
Minato opened the back door for Y/n, making her express gratitude as she entered the vehicle.
Once Minato was seated in the limousine, the middle aged man began to drive towards Y/n's apartment complex.
Y/n swiftly texted Haruhi that she was on her way back home and that she will discuss the date to her.
It was a quick and quiet seven minute drive, the chauffeur made the vehicle come to a stop in front of Y/n's apartment building, allowing Minato and Y/n to exit the limousine.
"Thanks for taking me out today, Minato-Senpai." Y/n said with a small bow.
"It was my pleasure. Maybe we could go out again some other time?" Minato suggested with a hopeful smile, scratching the back of his neck.
"Um, Minato-Senpai... I think we should become and stay as friends." Y/n finally shared. "I'm sorry. You're a really nice guy, but...I just feel that it's right if we don't go any further than friends."
Minato's smile faltered a bit, his arm lowering back down to his side. "Oh... I-it's okay, Fujioka. I understand, and I'm okay with just being friends."
Y/n showed a tight lipped smile. "Thanks for understanding, Minato-Senpai. I'll see you around at school."
Minato nodded with a small smile, soon getting back into his black limousine and journeying away, Y/n waving her hand as the vehicle distanced itself from her neighborhood.
Y/n released a sigh of relief and walked up the stairs to the second floor of the apartment complex. Once she stood in front of her apartment unit door, she took out her house key and put it into the keyhole, about to unlock the door.
She scrunched her face in minimal confusion. 'It's unlocked? I thought Haruhi locked it after I left?' She pondered and pulled out the key from the keyhole.
She turned the doorknob and gently pushed it open, entering her apartment before closing the door, not even realizing a group of people staring at her due to her brown eyes aiming down at the doorways flooring.
She took off her shoes and stepped onto the wooden floor. "I'm-" She paused her announcement once she looked up, her eyes moderately widening. "...home."
Standing at least five feet away from Y/n was Ranka with his arms crossed over him chest. Behind him was the Host Club and off to the side was a sweat dropping Haruhi.
"Y/n..." Ranka growled.
"Hi, dad!" Y/n smiled widely, wanting her smile and kind demeanor to somehow distract him or make the lecture less intense. She directed her gaze to the six high schoolers that were behind her father. "Hey guys. It's awesome seeing you all here."
"Where were you?" Ranka asked sternly, already knowing where she was since he arrived home from the same destination.
"Studying with a-"
"They know, Y/n." Haruhi placed a hand on her forehead, interrupting her sister. "And before you say anything, no. I did not tell them. Kyoya-Senpai knew ever since that guy asked you out."
Y/n stared at the said male with widened eyes. The dark haired, second year student just pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, his hand covering his smirk that was on his lips.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Ranka's angered expression was replaced with a dejected one as his brown eyes became moist. "Do you not trust me?!"
"What about us, Y/n?!" Tamaki cried, moving closer to the shoulder length, brown haired girl.
"Do you not care about us?!" The twins added on.
"Y/n-Chan, please tell us that you trust us!" Honey begged, tears filling his big eyes. He jumped on Y/n and wrapped his arms around her neck, making the female balance her stance. "Please say it!"
She was well aware that this situation would happen if she didn't tell them, but she didn't expect for them to find out. If she did inform them about her date with Minato they would've followed her and watched her date from afar, like what they already accomplished.
"Guys, please calm down." Y/n began and gently placed Honey down on the floor.
"Why didn't you tell your loving father about your plans today?" Ranka sniffled.
"Because I knew that you would follow me and spy on me." Y/n answered with a sigh. "I didn't want you guys to look after me. Dad, last night you were working 'til midnight, almost one o'clock in the morning. You needed your rest. I didn't want you wasting your day off with watching me on a harmless date."
Ranka placed one of his hands on Y/n's shoulder as the other one traveled to the back of her head, carefully bringing her head to his chest. "How many times do I have to say this? Stop worrying about me. I'm your father and it is my job to worry about you and your sister."
Y/n smiled softly, delicately inhaling the comfortable scent of her father. "I know, but I just can't help it. I feel selfish when I don't worry about the people I care about. I just want you to know that I didn't tell you about the date for a reason. You needed your rest today."
Ranka brought his arms to his sides and displayed a small smile.
"What about us?" Hikaru bluntly asked.
"Why didn't you tell us, Y/n?" Kaoru examined.
"She probably didn't tell us for the same reason she didn't tell her father." Tamaki smiled in admiration, his index finger and thumb were below his chin.
"Oh, I didn't tell you because I didn't want you guys to annoy me with questions." Y/n claimed indifferently.
Tamaki's smile vanished and he was instantly crouched down in a corner. "We're...annoying?"
Y/n approached the blond haired male and placed her hand on his shoulder, a miniature smile on her lips as she faintly sweat dropped at his reaction. "Sorry, Tamaki-Senpai. I didn't really mean it."
"Yeah, I think she just meant that you're annoying, boss." The twins remarked with a mocking smirk.
Tamaki shot up from his squatting position and glared at the twins, clenching his hands into tight fists. "Shut up, you perverted twins!"
"Hey, who're you calling perverted?" The twins argued with one of their hands on their hips as their other one was formed into a fist and was raised up above their head.
Y/n slowly shook her head with a small smile as the twins and Tamaki continued to throw insults at each other. She turned her attention to the brownish-grey eyed male and guided herself to stand beside him.
"So you knew about Minato-Senpai asking me out on a date, huh?" Y/n asked with her hands behind her back.
"I always find things out one way or another." Kyoya confirmed with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Did you know that the date was today?"
"Yes." He glanced down at Y/n with faint, questionable eyes. "Why are you asking questions?"
Y/n shrugged with a small smile. "I'm just trying to piece together something."
"And what would that be?"

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
