《The Other Man | Jungkook X Reader》10: Darkness.

It's been a while since Jungkook started driving. I finally gathered up enough courage to turn to him and ask where we were heading to but, just like always, he read my mind.
"We'll be there in 2mins, I just want to show you something. Don't worry, you're the last person I would want to kidnap right now.", a small smile sneaked out of my mouth listening to his nonsense which I probably needed. That was the first time when the incident had slipped off of my mind, but it didn't last long.
We reached an unknown hilltop, not too away from the main city. Until we stepped out of the car, I hadn't realised how dark it was.
I hid myself behind Jungkook, holding the hem of his black hoodie. I was afraid. And he noticed it. He held my hand and gestured me to sit beside him on the unlevelled ground with the most beautiful view that I could only imagine.
"My second hideout.", he said breaking the silence which again, was not awkward. "It always calms me when I come here to take a break."
Break?
He slipped his hand around my shoulders, gently pulling me towards him. I could feel his gaze on me, but I couldn't face him. I knew I would break down, and I didn't want anyone to see my vulnerable side. "It's okay to cry, y/n." He said, his palms rubbing the side of the top of my hand as I flinched with pain. "A-ah.. it- it hurts.."
He looked at me worriedly, and then took a glance at my shoulder. It was red with the guy's handprints. In no moment, his face turned red with anger. "It probably happened when-", there. I flinched again. The whole incident was haunting me. He cupped my face, making me look towards him. The deep galaxy buried in his eyes was somehow helping me calm down. In no moment, tears were already rolling down my cheeks as I held onto his shirt, burying myself in his chest and sobbing my whole heart out. He wrapped his arms around me, trying his best to make me feel as comfortable as he could.

"I'm right here with you princess"
After a while, I pulled back slowly when I somehow managed to calm myself down a bit. Sniffing, I look at Jungkook, whose hands still lingered on my shoulder and eyes never leaving mine.
I realise that we are surrounded in the dark. "I.. dont like it when its dark.", I said, which might've offended Jungkook but he replied to me calmly.
"I feel safe around darkness.", he replied. His words came to me as a shock. "It.. kinda makes me feel warm. Like it's important." "Important?" He nodded his head slowly, gazing at the stars shining brightly.
"These stars, they need the darkness, to show itself. To show how beautiful they are. The dark swallows itself just to allow the stars to shine bright in the night sky. Would they be able to do it if it wasn't dark? Plus.. it also serves as a reminder that it isn't gonna last long. Eventually the darkest time, which is before sunrise, is eaten away by the warm rays of the bright sun."
After listening to what he just said, for the first time, I wasn't scared of the dark.
"It isn't just the stars who is shining brightly.." I said, looking at Jungkook whose face was seen under the moonlight, making him look as if he was glowing.. in the dark. The cold breeze messing up his hair, while his eyes reciprocated the reflection of the stars, creating it's own galaxy in the comfort of his beautiful doe eyes and the view of the city. It melted your heart.
"You get what I'm talking about princess?" Honestly I do. "What I mean is that, the pain will be there, it might increase with time, but you have to remember that one day it's all gonna go away and you will have the sun shining bright in your life."

I smiled at him, pulling him into a big warm hug mumbling, "thank you for staying when I always needed someone Jungkook.."
He smiled and hugged me back. We stayed like that for a long time, gazing the stars, the moon, the silent city lights and the cold breeze hitting us in each other's embrace under the magical celestial bodies.
"Aren't you cold?", he said, breaking the most romantic moment I've ever had but honestly? practically speaking, I was cold to the point where I started shivering.
