i'm at the location
I see you
You kept your promise, coming alone
told you
•
•
•
"hello, cloudy."
you turned around, meeting a skinny figure dressed in all black. hands were covering his body as if they they were trying to grab him; drag him somewhere.
you sucked a breath in. "hi, shigaraki."
you could feel his smile from where you were standing. "come with me. you can meet the others. no calling the heroes though, eh? we wouldn't want anything to happen to you."
you nodded. "powering my phone off now, just in case you're worried."
it was still on.
he grinned. "good."
•

an evil lair. something with dried blood everywhere and test tubes with weird specimens in them. machines to gouge out their victims with. thats what you were expecting.
not an abandoned bar.
maybe society's rules and expectations have caught up to you.
shigaraki scratched his neck. "welcome to our lair."
you were immediately greeted by someone jumping at you. they knocked you over and you landed on your back.
"hee~hee! hi cloudy!!!!"
toga straddled you hips, grinning widely. "i've been longing to see you since you accepted our invitation~!" she sang, swaying on top of you.
you softly smiled back, resting your weight on your elbows. "same here, toga."
she giggled, placing her hand to her mouth. "you're much cuter in person~!"
you nodded, thanking her. "may i stand up?"
she nodded, getting off of you. you stood up, dusting off any dirt on your dark jeans.
the place was made out of wood. there was a spot where they had patched it up, presumably from when all might had busted through to rescue bakugou. a bar was placed in the back where a man made of mist was cleaning a bottle.
the other members were spread around the place; eyes on you. you were fresh meat. a foreign person in their secret base. yet, they didn't look at you like you were a threat.
they all stared at you like you were a potential.
you were their hope.
you spotted hawks standing in a corner, sluggishly leaning against the wall. the two of you made contact, causing you to gulp.
that's right, the plan.
fake it until you make it.
you smiled warmly. "hi everyone."
an assortment of "hello's" greeted back to you. dabi stayed silent, his icy stare burning more holes into you. he was leaning against a wall, opposite side from hawks.
toga linked arms with you. "come here cloudy! you have to meet kurogiri!"
she pulled you away from shigaraki and towards the bar. there stood a man of purple mist, cleaning the same bottle as earlier. he turned his head towards you, nodding.
"hello, i am kurogiri. i've heard some things about you, cloudy," he introduced, his golden eyes flashing in your direction.
"it's nice to meet you, kurogiri. i hope those things were all good." he chuckled, placing the bottle behind him. "why, of course."

toga grinned, bearing her fangs to you. "c'mon! the grouch is over here."
she pulled you away from kurogiri and to dabi. he glared at toga, his eyes shining in the light. "go away toga."
she giggled. "c'mon dabi! it's cloudy! she kept her promise!"
his eyes moved from her to you. he stared into you, face unmoving. his skin was charred and pale; burnt apart.
you wanted to ask who hurt him. you wanted to ask who hurt all of them. they didn't deserve this treatment.
was it bad that you sympathized for them?
"they're okay."
you snapped out of your trance, blinking. toga giddily hugged you, squeezing the life out of you.
"huh? what'd i do?" you asked, trying to breathe.
"you're dabi approved! that's more to say than hawks!" she cheered.
you chuckled nervously, looking at hawks. he blinked twice, signaling that he sent the others the signal.
phase one was complete.
"i don't see a reason not to trust her! i mean, look at her! i just know her blood tastes amazing~" toga giggled, releasing you from the hug.
shigaraki scratched his neck. "they have no reason to not be trusted either. they have no friends to tell. they shut off their phone to show me that they won't call for the heroes. she's homeschooled too."
"she's a quirkless kid."
you turned to look at the bird who spoke up. you quirked an eyebrow at him as he got up from his wall.
"okay and? what's that have to do with anything?" you retorted, rolling your eyes.
"i mean, what's a quirkless kid gonna do to help the greatest villain gang here in musutafu?" he scoffed, walking towards you.
you glared at him. "did i ever state i was joining them? no i didn't. i did say that i was going to meet them, though. maybe those feathers are reaching your brain."
dabi snickered, quickly coughing to cover it up. toga giggled, releasing your arm.
"you think you're funny, kid. i'm not having this while they're here." he spat, venom lacing his words.
'kid, they're here.'
phase two complete.
"why not hawks? scared of a quirkless girl?" you dared, stepping closer to the blond.
hawks glared at you. "i'm tired of this. i'm leaving."
with that, he strolled by you, swiftly sliding something in your pocket. he slammed the door behind him.
you sighed. "being number 2 must be so difficult for him."
shigaraki let out something that sounded like a laugh. "i hate heroes like him."
you nodded. they weren't bad people. they have this family they created; because they couldn't find comfort in others.
you sat down at the bar, digging your hand into your pocket to find the ring tracker hawks placed in their for you. you put it on your middle finger, admiring it.
it really did look like a ring.
"oooooo what's that?" toga asked, appearing behind you.
you placed your hands in your lap, covering the ring with your other hand. you turned around, facing toga. "it's a ring that i forgot i had in my pocket."

"was it a gift?" she asked, her eyes staring intently into yours.
you nodded. "it's from my older brother who died many years ago. he died in a villain accident."
the room went silent.
dabi stared at you. "and you still don't loath villains?"
you shook your head. "i mean, why should i? it wasn't you guys who did it. you're too young to have done it."
they all nodded, nervously looking at each other from across the room.
the mood had shifted; everyone could feel it. toga still smiled. dabi sat at one of the stools near you. shigaraki sat on top of the counter, scratching his neck. spinner and twice were in a corner, staring. kurogiri was still washing the bottles, placing them behind him on the shelves.
it was too quiet.
shigaraki cleared his throat. "so, cloudy. why not join us? to prove hawks wrong."
you turned to face shigaraki. "so sudden, don't you think?"
he shook his head. "it's never too sudden, dear cloudy."
"and what if i refuse?" you asked, tilting your head.
they got closer. their eyes were all on you.
shigaraki was taken aback. "why would you refuse? you accepted us for who we are. you, despite knowing who we are, came here and met all of us. why won't you join?!"
your eyebrows furrowed. "maybe i just want to be friends, shigaraki."
he scratched his neck harder. "how can we trust you?!"
you chuckled. "that's your own decision to make."
he went quiet, still continuously scratching. you stared at him, like the others who stared at you.
you spoke up. "just let me tell you something. i've known who you all were since the beginning. it was a little too obvious. yet, i still came here. i haven't flinched. i haven't done anything to upset you guys. so what is there to not trust about me?"
they stared. their beady little eyes stared into you, like you were the mona lisa. as if you were a frightened cat.
as if you were a hero.
shigaraki clapped. he was clapping.
"you play a good game, cloudy. do you really think you can fool us?" he stated, ceasing his clapping.
you quirked an eyebrow. "care to explain, shigaraki?"
he took off the hand from his face, revealing his ruby eyes and deteriorated skin. he carried a smile on his face. except, not the happy a smile.
a smile meaning he figured you out.
"you can't fool me, cloudy."
your heart thumped. this was it.
"you're wearing jeans from years ago. they're not in style. the only thing we can't trust about you is your fashion sense," he laughed, pointing at you.
everyone erupted in laughter. you gawked at him.
"you can't say anything shigaraki! you're wearing hands all over you!" spinner howled, doubling over in laughter. twice slapped his back, also dying from laughter.
you blinked.
once. twice.
then you started to laugh along with them.
you thought they figured you out. maybe you're that good of a liar. too good of one.
"that was a good one shigaraki!" toga cheered, high-fouring him.
"you guys really made me think i did something wrong," you chuckled, resting your arm on the bar counter.
dabi continued to stare, but not at your face. at your lap.
you gave him an eyebrow. "what's so interesting about my lap, dabi?" you asked, causing him to snap out of his trance.
he looked up, leaning forward. "it's just, that ring looks a little too shiny, don't 'cha think?"
you recoiled, hiding your hand. "my ring. shoo, thief," you joked, using your other hand to shoo him away.
he grabbed your hand, leaning in closer. "wouldn't it be a shame if i, burned it?"
you blinked. "no?? its from my dead brother, creep."
you tried release your arm from his grip, but it wouldn't budge. "toga, the pedo is on me!" you screeched.
toga stood up, giggling. she pushed dabi off of you, releasing his grip.
he glared at the two of you. "fuck you. i just wanted a closer look at it. you said it was from your older brother, was it not?"
you nodded, rubbing your wrist. "yeah i did. what's it to you, weirdo?"
he smirked. "it reminds me of something. almost like a tracker?"
you squinted your eyebrows. "a tracker? why would my brother place a tracker in a ring?"
he shrugged. "you said he died, correct?"
you nodded. "yes he did."
"huh. then why did hawks graze a hand on your pocket?"
you froze. how'd he notice? he's too observant.
"i didn't feel a single thing? you could be imaging things, dabi," you shot at him. you weren't about to loose now.
"don't try to gaslight me now-"
a loud slam came from the front door. you stared at it, pretend confusion forming on your features.
"aggressive," you mumbled, standing up.
the place was dead silent.
a voice echoed from the other side of the door.
"hello? did someone order sushi?"
you held back a grin. it was mirko.
dabi turned to stare at you, his gaze not once leaving you. his icy eyes pierced into you. he couldn't let you out of his sight.
"hellooooooo? anyone there? the lights are on," she called, knocking once more. "it's the good kind of sushi too."
all eyes were on you. you held up your hands in defense. "my phone is powered off."
"whatever. i guess no ones here." she called out, signaling the others.
you and dabi didn't stop staring at one another, not daring to move again. he was a predator, and you were about to be his prey.
"NOT!" she screamed, kicking the door down.
wood flew everywhere. mirko quickly pounced onto kurogiri, capturing him.
dabi looked away, rushing to attack mirko.
you quickly shot your clouds at him, pining down his wrists against the wall. he glared so harshly that you thought his eyes would fall off.
everyone's eyes were on you.
"i'm sorry."
