《Fairy Tail's Demon God》Chapter 10: The Allied Forces

As the sun crawled through the blinds, into the small apartment, Ryuga woke to find Lillian sleeping soundly, next to him. He pushed her leg off from him and rolled out of bed. Once he was standing on the floor, he went to take a shower, and eventually, fix breakfast. As he walked out of the shower, he saw his aunt waking up from her slumber. Her silver hair was a mess, and her clothes started to slip off her shoulders. She looked at him with drowsy eyes, but he talked for her.
Ryuga: "Get showered and dressed. I'll have breakfast ready before you finish up."
She nodded and slowly walked past him, to the shower. Whilst she was taking her shower, Ryuga looked at his ingredients to find out what he should make for breakfast. Since he found out that he didn't have anything that could be cooked readily, he put on slightly better clothes and walked out the door. He walked down a normal path for him until he ended up in front of a pastry shop. When he opened the door, a small chyme sounded, and an older lady greeted him.
???: "Welcom- Oh, Ryuga! You're here? On a Thursday?"
Ryuga: "Well, Ms. May, I needed to get a quick breakfast for my aunt and I, since I didn't have any ready ingredients."
Ms. May: "Oh, oh, I see. What does your aunt like?"
Ryuga: "Anything sour. I'll take the usual."
Ms. May: "Okay honey, wait a couple minutes."
Ryuga: "Sure thing."
He sat down at one of the tables, near the window. As he looked outside, he saw the happy residents of Magnolia. There were children holding hands with their mothers, lovers kissing, and families eating breakfast together. All in all, he was glad that the city was still intact after the incident with the Harvest Festival. Before long, Ms. May's son, John, walked over to Ryuga, with a box in his hands.
John: "Here's your breakfast. Two plum pastries for your aunt, and a Rose-fire pastry, with extra toppings for yourself. 400 J."
Ryuga: "No problem."
Ryuga took the small box from John's hands and gave him the money. Ryuga, still holding the box, talked to John.
Ryuga: "How's your studies?"
John: "They're going pretty good. I feel like I'm close to finally breaking through the research to find quantum magic!"
Ryuga: "That's awesome, I don't know any other magic scientists as skilled as you." John blushed a little and rubbed the back of his head.
John: "Oh please, I'm only the son of a humble pastry shop owner."

Ryuga: "Yes, but that pastry shop owner is the Witch of Wonder herself." He winked at Ms. May, who was standing behind the counter.
Ms. May: "Haha, no one knows that name anymore. It's old news."
Ryuga: "Us oldies still hold you in the highest regard. I'm glad you've taken to a humble life though."
Ms. May: "Yes, I've never been happier, and who knew my son would be this smart!"
Ryuga: "He's indeed a treasure. Well then, I should be going, my aunt is probably waiting for me."
John: "All right, see you."
Ms. May: "Have a nice day honey."
After waving goodbye, he quickly walked back to his apartment. Once he stepped in, Lillian was sitting on the couch, with wet hair, waiting for him.
Lillian: "You're back?"
Ryuga: "Yeah, sorry, I had to go get breakfast. No ingredients."
Lillian: "That's fine, where'd you go."
Ryuga: "A pastry shop."
Lillian: "Aw, you know I don't like sweets."
She pouted, cutely, but Ryuga took the two plum pastries out and set them on a plate. He then moved the plate near Lillian's face, as the smell drifted into her nose. Her eyes shot open as her mouth leaked drool.
Ryuga: "See? Not sweet."
She snatched the plate out of his hand and rushed to the table, to eat. He chuckled and sat down with her, eating his own pastry. Once they were finished, Ryuga cleaned up and got ready to leave. Before he could walk out the door, however, Lillian stopped him.
Lillian: "Wait, let me get dressed."
Ryuga: "Hm?"
Lillian: "I'm going with you."
Ryuga: "Uh."
He took one look at her face before nodding, with a sigh. She snapped her fingers and a purple mist surrounded her, before revealing herself to be in a similar dress to yesterday. She smiled and did a small spin.
Lillian: "How do I look?"
Ryuga: "Acceptable."
Lillian: "You could've gone into more detail." She pouted a little, but Ryuga grabbed her hand.
Ryuga: "Let's go, I have to talk to the master."
Lillian: "Okay!"
Ryuga: "I see, so you want me to oversee the operation."
Makarov: "Correct. We both know how dangerous dark guilds can be. I don't want my youngsters getting hurt."
Ryuga: "Well, that's something we both agree on. All right, I'll do it, but Aunt Lillian wants to come along."
Makarov and Ryuga were sitting across from each other, in Makarov's office. They just finished talking about the Allied Forces mission to take down Oracion Seis. Ryuga pointed to his aunt, who was sitting next to him, smiling the entire time. Makarov looked at her a little before relenting and nodding his head.

Makarov: "All right, that's fine. Just make sure she doesn't get too reckless and offset the balance of life and death, or something."
Lillian: "Don't worry, I'm not that powerful anyway. Only a small number of gods could offset the balance of life and death."
Makarov looked at Ryuga, worriedly. Ryuga put a single finger over his mouth and winked at the master, causing Makarov to go pale. It was as if they had a small conversation in each other's head.
Ryuga: "Can you send me the location of the meeting place? I'll take the others there."
Makarov: "Sure."
After they were finished with their talk, Ryuga and Lillian walked out of Makarov's office. They walked into the guildhall, where Mirajane was explaining dark guilds and the Balam Alliance to Lucy. Ryuga clapped his hands, gaining everyone's attention.
Ryuga: "Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Lucy, on me. We're leaving for the Allied Forces meeting place immediately."
Erza: "Wait, you're leading the operation?"
Ryuga: "Yeah, last-minute decision."
Mirajane: "Aw, I wish I was going now."
Ryuga: "We need you to hold down the fort here, while we're gone. If anything happens, I expect to be notified immediately."
Mirajane: "You got it."
She smiled, and Ryuga picked Happy up from the ground. The team started walking out the guildhall, towards the train.
Once they opened the door to the meeting place, they were greeted by the Trimens. In reality, however, the Trimens only greeted the women of the group, while ignoring the men. Gray and Ryuga sighed as Natsu started yelling at them. This went on for a while before Lyon Vastia walked in and froze Ichiya's head. Sherry Blendy walked behind Lyon, and Gray had a staredown with them.
Lyon: "Ugh, so you're here."
Gray: "Huh?! You got a problem, bastard?!"
Before they could do anything, a deep voice called out to them, and a large man walked into the room.
Jura: "Calm down Lyon. Sorry about that, Gray."
Gray: "Jura.. Neekis?"
Jura: "That's right."
Lucy: "No way, one of the Ten Wizard Saints?"
Jura: "Only in name."
Once he saw Ryuga, he walked over to him and extended a hand.
Jura: "Violet Demon, correct? I've heard many stories about you."
Ryuga: "All good things, I hope."
He took Jura's hand and shook it.
Jura: "... Something like that."
He had a worried laugh before noticing the woman standing next to Ryuga.
Jura: "And you? I've never seen you in Fairy Tail before."
Lillian: "Oh, I'm Ryuga's aunt. The name's Lillian, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Jura: "Likewise, ma'am." He turned back to Ryuga. "I heard you're overseeing the mission."
Ryuga: "If that's okay with you."
Jura: "That's fine, I'd rather have it like that."
Lyon: "Yeah yeah, whatever, when is the last person getting here?"
Ichiya: "He's right, I heard that Cait Shelter only sent one mage."
Lucy: "Really? They must be super powerful then."
Wendy: "Umm. I'm Wendy Marvell, and I was sent by Cait Shelter." A cute voice called out from behind them.
Ryuga/Lillian: "AH!"
Ryuga and Lillian both lept into each other's arms. They looked at the person who surprised them to find a short, blue-haired girl cutely grabbing the ends of her dress and blushing from embarrassment. They eventually let go of each other and cleared their throat. Jura introduced himself, kindly, to Wendy, as did the members of Fairy Tail. While they were introducing themselves, Ryuga pulled Lillian over to the side and whispered to her.
Ryuga: "Did you feel her presence before she announced herself?"
Lillian: "No. I had no clue, that's why she scared me so much."
Ryuga: "Same here. I couldn't even smell her... That's scary."
Lillian: "Now that she's noticeable, she's a dragon slayer. A sky dragon slayer at that."
Ryuga: "Yeah. I'm not sure if she's trying or not, but she conceals her presence incredibly well."
Lillian: "Agreed, I haven't had someone sneak up on me in forever."
Ryuga: "Same here. Better keep an eye on her." He took another look at her. "Although I doubt she's a threat to anyone."
They both walked back over to the group, who were surprised that Wendy also had a cat, much like Natsu's.
Wendy: "I'm not good at fighting, but I can use some supportive magic!"
Ryuga: "That's fine, Wendy. You can stay next to Aunt Lillian's side then. She also specializes in support magic. Oh, my name's Ryuga Shinsokai, nice to meet you, Wendy Marvell."
Wendy's eyes lit up as her cat rolled her own. She made a cute gasping sound as she grabbed Ryuga's hand.
Wendy: "The Violet Demon!? I'm a huge fan!"
Ryuga: "Oh? I didn't know I had fans."
Wendy: "Of course! You're famous all over the world!"
Ryuga: "Haha, thanks." He scratched his cheek in embarrassment.
Wendy: "I never thought I'd get to meet you in person. You're less scary than the stories say."
Ryuga: "Right.. Anyway, now that everyone's here, I think we should get started on the mission soon."
Natsu: "Yeah! Let's hurry up and beat the crap outta them!"
Ichiya: "WAIT!" Everyone looked at him with confusion. "I gotta use the restroom... men."
His fingers took an odd stance as he rushed towards the restroom.

NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe.
