《Fairy Tail's Demon God》Chapter 11: Birth, or Creation?

A younger Ziminiar was sitting next to a younger Lillian, gazing at the sky of the underworld. He took a heavy sigh, and Lillian looked over at him, guessing what he was thinking.
Lillian: "Still worried about being unable to have children?"
Ziminiar: "OI! Don't say it out loud!"
Lillian: "It's no secret, you know."
Ziminiar: *sighs* "What am I going to do? I want a son to rule this place when I eventually die."
Lillian: "Don't write yourself off as dead so soon. You're a Demon God; there's no telling how many thousands of years you'll live."
Ziminiar: "But without a son, what's the point?"
Lillian: "You really want a son huh?"
Ziminiar: "Isn't it the same for you?"
Lillian: "Well.. I do feel like something's missing."
As soon as she said that, Ziminiar jumped up and grabbed her hands.
Ziminiar: "Oh, I know! Let's make a child together!"
Lillian's face morphed into one of anger and she slapped Ziminiar across the face. Steam started to rise up off the handprint that was residing on his face.
Lillian: "Don't be stupid! We're siblings! And you can't even make a child in the first place!"
Ziminiar: "Ow, that's not what I meant!"
Lillian: "Huh?"
Ziminiar: "Let's use our magic to create one!"
Lillian: "You can't be serious right? That's never been tested before."
Ziminiar: "We can be the first to test it then!"
Lillian sighed as she gripped her head.
Lillian: "Seriously, you always have the most reckless ideas. What would the people think if we suddenly show up with a son?"
Ziminiar: "Hmm. Good point..." There was a short pause whilst he was thinking. "Oh, I know! We can just call it my son, and you can be his aunt, like normal!"

Lillian: "I don't know, little Zimi. If we mess up, the baby could die."
Ziminiar blushed at his older sister calling him that, but he had a serious face nonetheless.
Ziminiar: "Lillian... I think it could work. Don't you also want to have someone like a son?"
Lillian: *sighs* "Fine, whatever! We'll try it."
Ziminiar and Lillian were standing together in a dark room, with sweat dripping off their foreheads. Lillian chuckled slightly as she looked at her younger brother.
Lillian: "Don't tell me, you're getting scared now?"
Ziminiar: "Of course not... I'm just thinking of what to name it."
Lillian lightly smiled and put a hand on his back.
Lillian: "We can think of that once the spell works."
Ziminiar smiled and they both steeled their nerves. They put arms together, making a cradle shape, and chanted a spell.
Ziminiar/Lillian: "River and mountain, flower and wind, angels of the north and demons of the south, the cycle of life and death begins again... SUMMON!"
Lightning and fire poured out of their hands, as thunder resonated throughout the room. A blinding light started to emanate out of the middle, and once it died down, their arms felt slightly heavy. Within their arms... laid a small, naked child. It had four horns, four wings, and a tiny, little tail poking out of it's back. The two demon royalty gazed in amazement at the sight before them. Ziminiar started crying; he finally had someone to call "son". Lillian also grew tears in her eyes as she stared at the innocent child.
Lillian: "He's so cute and.. perfect... my first son."
Ziminiar quickly grabbed the baby out of her arms and held him close to his chest.
Ziminiar: "No way! We agreed that he would be my son!"
Lillian: "But after looking at him, I can't help but want him to be mine."

Ziminiar: "No, no, no, no! He's mine! He's your nephew, just like we agreed!"
Lillian smiled and put her hands on her heart.
Lillian: "Fine... But he'll forever be my precious nephew. I can tell already, I'll never have someone that could replace him."
Ziminiar: "Don't be ridiculous, you can still have children." Lillian walked over and kissed the young child's head.
Lillian: "No.. This, is enough."
Ziminiar: "Geez, sis, I never thought I'd see you cry."
He was referring to the tears currently dropping from Lillian's eyes, as she smiled and gazed at her nephew.
Lillian: "Shut up, let me enjoy this."
Ziminiar: "Still though, what the hell is with this child? The amount of magic force in him is crazy."
Lillian: "Yeah, I guess he absorbed both of our essence and become one living being with both our powers."
Ziminiar: "That's seriously crazy. He might just be the strongest demon we've yet seen."
Lillian: "Yeah, but he'll always be ours."
Ziminiar: "But.. we'll have to tell him eventually. You know, how he was created."
Lillian: "I don't want him to know... I want him to be happy with a father and an aunt that he knows love him. I don't want him to feel betrayed."
Ziminiar: "Well, we can worry about that later. For now, let's just celebrate the birth of a new Demon God!"
They went on to have a celebratory feast, in which the people rejoiced to a new member of royalty.
A young Ryuga was sitting next to his father, fishing for bitter-poison carp. They were in the malevolent fishery, in the underworld. As his father threw out another line, Ryuga spoke out to him.
Ryuga: "Father."
Ziminiar jumped a little in surprise of his son's serious tone.
Ziminiar: "Yes, son?"
Ryuga: "Where's my mother gone off to?"
Ziminiar: "Ah... you see. Your mother left very soon after you were born. The trauma from it caused me to.. well you know. Unable to have kids."
Ryuga: "Did she die... painfully?"
Ziminiar: "You shouldn't talk about your mother like that."
Ryuga: "But, how could she just leave her child like that? What kind of mother would do tha-"
He was cut off by a hand touching his shoulder. He looked behind him to find Lillian smiling at him. She bent down to his eye level and hugged him.
Lillian: "You have me, isn't that enough?"
Ryuga hugged her back.
Ryuga: "That's not what I meant, Auntie Lillian."
Lillian quickly ended the hug and smiled brightly.
Lillian: "Having you call me that with such a cute face made my fatigue disappear instantly! I love you... my nephew." Ryuga smiled innocently.
Ryuga: "I love you too, Auntie!"
Ryuga was staring at Lillian, with a small smile on his face. She was currently talking to Wendy and didn't notice him looking.
Ryuga's mind: "Did they think that I'd never figure it out? Well, oh well. It's not that important anyway... I love you.. mom."
Lillian quickly looked at Ryuga, to find a couple of tears dropping from his face. She quickly wiped them off and kissed his forehead, like she used to do when he was young.
Lillian: "Are you all right, my dear nephew?"
Ryuga: "Yeah, I'm fine, Aunt Lillian. I was just remembering some memories."
Lillian: "All good things, I hope?"
Ryuga: "Yeah, all good things."
Erza, after breaking up an argument between Gray and Natsu, looked over at the two family members and smiled. That smile soon turned to disgust as Ichiya ran up to them.
Ichiya: "All right ladies and gentlemen... I have returned, men~"
Once again, his fingers took an odd stance, but Ryuga looked at him curiously, as if he was staring at a different person than Ichiya.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

Sengoku Demon Chronicles
Sengoku-era Japan was already batshit crazy. Now it’s got demons. ~~~ Japan 1541-2. Miho, a young village guy [with a female name], is on the trail of his mysterious lost love when he unwittingly saves the life of Akira, a cynical ashigaru [low-level samurai]. By doing so, he incurs the wrath of a box demon who is way too petty to just let it go. After that, it’s mostly downhill. ~~~ Includes: purple mist demons, portals, Yuki Onna, other demons, warlords, ashigaru, a try-hard mage, an eight-tailed fox and an endless litany of pathological liars. Historically, it’s about as accurate as most Hollywood productions. Hopefully, a little better. ~~~ Note: due to having fewer followers than a no-touch, no-look sex cult, I'm taking a break from this for August/September. Will be back in October to finish off Volume 1 and start off Volume 2.
