《Fairy Tail's Demon God》Chapter 16: Welcome to the Underworld

It was a calm morning; the sun was shining, birds chirping, and Ryuga was still sleeping. Well, that was before a metal pan hit him in the head. He woke up from the sound of glass shattering and metal clanging. When he opened his eyes, he saw something he never thought he'd see... Lillian cooking human food. Less like cooking, more like struggling to cook.
He watched her throw ingredients on the floor and light them ablaze, before grabbing another pan and throwing it across the room. This time Ryuga jumped out of bed and caught the pan, not wanting his home to get destroyed even more so.
Ryuga: "Aunt Lillian, what exactly are you doing to my poor spinach?"
He was referring to the black dust currently occupying the floor. He heard Lillian give a demonic growl before turning around. When his eyes met hers, she broke down crying like a small child and sat on the floor. Her tears formed into a puddle near her. She spoke through her crying, all the while giving Ryuga an adorable pouting face.
Lillian: "I-I was t-trying to make breakfast for you when you woke up, but I-I-I-I can't figure o-out how to use the tools and human food!"
She started crying harder, and Ryuga heard a knock on his door. He quickly opened it to find Lucy with bags in her eyes.
Ryuga: "Lucy? Is there something you need?"
Lucy: "Your Aunt has been making noises for two hours." She grabbed his hand with both of hers. "Please... I beg of you, make her quiet."
Ryuga: "Ah, yeah, sorry. I'll take care of it right away."
Lucy went back into her room, and Ryuga closed the door. He walked towards Lillian with a gentle smile on his face and open arms. Once she saw him getting closer, she stopped crying but kept sniffling, and she opened her arms out, akin to a baby who wants to be carried. He slowly picked her up and sat down on the couch, placing her beside him.
Lillian, the mother, wrapped her arms around Ryuga, the son, and continued to slightly cry into his chest. Ryuga started to wonder who the real mother looked like in this position, as he started to pat Lillian's back.
Lillian: "I messed it all up. I was j-just trying to brighten your day."
Ryuga: "Don't fret, dear Aunt. Would you like me to teach you?"
Lillian looked up with stars in her eyes, as her frown disappeared and was replaced by a smile.
Lillian: "Yeah! Teach me! Teach me!"
That is how that morning went. Ryuga taught Lillian all of the basics on how to use his utensils and ingredients. Before an hour was even up, Lillian was cooking eggs and sausage by herself. A giant smile was evident on her face while Ryuga watched from the comfort of his couch.
Once they ate breakfast, they headed to the guild to gather everyone up for the wedding. Once everyone was ready to go, they gathered in a backroom of the guildhall. Lillian's index finger glowed red as she started tapping each of the humans' foreheads.
Gray: "What's this?"
Lillian: "It's a permanent spell that allows for you humans to function in the underworld."
Wendy: "W-What does that mean?"
Lillian: "The underworld is very different from this realm. It has a much lighter sense of gravity and the air there is not made up of the same components as it is here."

Gray: "And what does that mean?"
Ryuga: "Basically, without this spell, your lungs would burn up as you float away into nothingness."
Elfman: "What a manly spell!"
Erza: "So how do we get there though? Is there some sort of flaming chariot or maybe a giant gate that opens up?"
Lillian: "Eh? How'd you know?" Erza made a hopeful look.
Erza: "Wait, really?"
Ryuga: "Yeah actually. The first one is used widely, but the second one is only used for royalty."
Mirajane: "I sometimes forget that you're royalty. No offense, but you don't really act like a prince."
Ryuga: "Hmm, you think so?"
He said this as his clothes started to change, morphing into a long, black robe with silver, fiery flowers imprinted onto it. The silver flowers, along with the fire that resided in them, were spread around the entire robe, all the way from the sleeves to the bottommost parts. The robe was opened a bit in the middle, allowing eye candy for the females, and, of course, the outfit came with no shoes. In his left hand, was a pure white, formal fan.
Ryuga looked at Mirajane with a smug grin. She laughed a little, trying hard not to blush from the luxurious and beautiful apparel. Ryuga looked to his left to find Lillian changing into her Royal Attire.
Her Royal Attire was the female version of Ryuga's, but the exact opposite in color. Her robe was snow-white with black, fiery roses, instead of silver. She had no fan, and her hair was put up into a bun, held in place by black hairpins. She also wore no shoes. She put her elbow on Ryuga's shoulder.
Lillian: "Do we look like royalty now?"
Erza: "Definitely, but I must ask, is there something symbolic about the colors of the robes?"
Ryuga: "Yes, actually. Only the ruler and his successor are allowed to wear this black, formal attire. However, the ruler wears golden etchings while the successor wears the silver, as you see. The successor also carries a pure white fan, and the ruler carries a black fan with golden etchings of clouds, representing the past Demon Gods and Rulers of the Underworld. Aunt Lillian's attire is worn by those who are royalty, but not one of the other two I just mentioned. The fiery flowers on our robes represent the nature of us demons."
Lillian: "Which is, 'The Flower who brings Peace and the Flame who brings War.' It symbolizes the appropriate time for both peace and war, and it shows that we are not afraid of starting both."
Mirajane: "That is very fascinating. I feel so happy to learn more about you two." Lillian chuckled as she raised her hand.
Lillian: "You ain't seen nothing yet! "
A dark black gate with golden wings rose up from the ground in a ball of blood-red fire. Once it was fully erected, the gate swung open. They all looked inside to see a purple liquid moving around in the gate.
Wendy: "It almost looks like a portal."
Ryuga: "That's exactly what it is. Let's go."
He walked in first, with the rest following, and Lillian last. After they walked through the portal, they appeared in a world with red sky and overcast clouds. A pathway to a large palace was evident, with fifty demon guards on each side of the path, spears in hands. Once they saw Ryuga, they all got onto one knee, holding their spears with their left hand.

Guards: "Welcome back to the underworld, Your Royal Highness." Once Lillian stepped out of the gate, they repeated something similar. "Welcome back to the underworld, Mistress Lillian."
Ryuga opened his fan and brought it over his face.
Ryuga: "You may rise."
The guards all did so, back to their original stance. He started walking towards the palace, with his friends in tow. They looked at many of the guards, some old, some young, some men, some women, but one thing was for sure, these guards were all strong and powerful. Once the group was at the palace doors, two maids, who looked as if they were standing there, waiting the whole time, opened the doors. Their eyes never met Ryuga's, but they were certainly fixated on him and Lillian.
Maids: "Please enter, Lord Zephyn, Mistress Lillian."
They all walked into a gorgeous room, with marble floors, golden chandeliers, and paintings filling the ceiling. In front of them stood a ravishing maid with blue hair and eyes, bowing in front of them. This was Sylvia, the head maid of the Demon God's palace. Unlike all of the other maids and guards that they had seen, this was the first maid that the group noticed to have her wings and horns out. Two black horns protruded from her head as two-midnight wings were evident on her middle-back.
She kept bowing, whether or not she was intentionally showing off cleavage was something no one knew. She finally spoke after she noticed that the doors were closed.
Sylvia: "Welcome, Lord Zephyn, Mistress Lillian. We have been expecting you."
She finally stood up straight, and, also for the first time, she was one who looked into Ryuga's eyes.
Ryuga: "Greetings, Sylvia."
Mirajane couldn't hold back her curiosity anymore, as she blurted out a question she had been thinking of.
Mirajane: "Who's Lord Zephyn?" Ryuga chuckled and looked back at her, with his fan covering his face.
Ryuga: "That's my Demon Name, Zephyn. When I went to the human realm, I used a different name to blend in easier."
Erza: "Then what should we call you?"
Ryuga: "Ryuga is fine."
Sylvia: "Lord Zephyn, we have made accommodations for your guests. Five bedrooms."
Ryuga: "Well done, Sylvia."
Sylvia: "I am not worthy of praise."
She bowed again, although this one was much quicker.
Ryuga: "Nonsense, you are the Royal Family's most prized maid."
A blush of adoration quickly spread across her cheeks as she could no longer maintain eye contact with Ryuga. Laughing was heard as a large figure walked down one of the two staircases, which were overlayed with gold. This man looked like a much older Ryuga with an eyepatch and beard, and he wore the Ruler's robe.
Ziminiar: "Welcome home, my son. Oh! I see you've brought friends!"
Ryuga closed his fan and hugged his father, who was smiling the entire time. Once they ended it, Ziminiar looked to Lillian.
Ziminiar: "And hello to you, my sister."
Lillian: "Hey again."
Ziminiar then turned back to Ryuga.
Ziminiar: "So? Are you going to introduce me?"
Ryuga: "Of course." He first pointed to Erza. "Erza Scarlet, a woman with great strength and a greater heart. A human who's most mystifying." Then he pointed to Elfman. "Eflman Strauss, a man of dignity, bravery, and undying love for Fairy Tail." Then Wendy. "Wendy Marvell, the sky dragon slayer, and a new recruit to Fairy Tail." Then Gray. "Gray Fullbuster. A stripper." Finally, Mirajane. "Mirajane Strauss. Sister of Elfman, and a woman who's beauty and soul are greater than wonders."
Ziminiar: "They all sound lovely. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Ziminiar, Demon God, and the current Ruler of the Underworld. It is an honor to have my sons' esteemed friends in my palace."
Erza: "It is us who have the honor, Your Majesty."
The group of humans bowed, as Ziminiar laughed.
Ziminiar: "Haha, son, your friends are very well mannered. Wonderful humans indeed! Feast and rest today, for tomorrow is the wedding, and we plan to give you all a tour through our history. With this, I take my leave. Duty calls."
He walked back up the stairs, as the group was starting to get hungry again.
Ryuga: "The underworld is different from the human realm. Your bodies will need more sustenance more frequently here, and the time flows differently also. It is currently nighttime, shall we eat supper and then head to rest? Tomorrow is a big day."
Gray: "I could eat a cow right now." Everyone nodded, and Ryuga turned to Sylvia.
Ryuga: "Sylvia, is the feast ready?"
Sylvia: "Yes, Lord Zephyn. Please follow me."
They followed her into a large dining hall with a huge table of all kinds of exotic food on it. Gray, Elfman, and, surprisingly, Lillian started immediately digging into their food. Ryuga pulled the chairs out for each of the other ladies, and they responded with a "thank you." They all began to start eating the delicious meal.
After supper was over, Sylvia showed each of the guests to their bedrooms. They were largely taken aback by how large the beds were, and some loved it more than others. Once Ryuga entered his bedroom, he took off his robe and put on loose pants. He walked over onto his patio and gazed across the land. He smiled as he saw people walking in and out of marketplaces, homes, restaurants, and more.
Ryuga: "My people. They're all safe and sound, enjoying life. Everyone is at peace now... It's beautiful." He chuckled. "I'm really starting to act like father now."
He closed the windows to the patio and jumped onto his bed, glad that he could relax in his favorite mattress. His attention soon turned to the door as he heard a knock on it. He sat up and straightened himself on his bed, with one foot flat on the bed and the other extended. Ryuga figured it was a maid or someone asking if he needed anything before bed.
Ryuga: "Enter."
In walked Mirajane, in her nightgown, with a blush on her face. She closed the door and quickly apologized for intruding.
Mirajane: "Sorry Ryuga, but I can't really fall asleep in that huge bed. I'm just not used to it."
Ryuga: "Oh, don't worry about it. Do you want to sleep in mine, with me?"
Mirajane: "Can I?"
Ryuga: "Of course. It would help me sleep better also."
She climbed under the covers and put her head on his chest, smiling up at him. Ryuga smiled back and rubbed his hand through her hair. He then had an uncertain face as he felt himself heating up.
Ryuga: "I know you just got here and all... But..." Mirajane chuckled as she started slipping off her nightgown.
Mirajane: "You want to do it?"
Ryuga: "If you're okay with it."
Mirajane: "Honestly, I feel the same way, I was just too embarrassed to ask." She then kissed his neck and whispered into his ear. "I'm sure our second time will be more exhilarating, huh?"
Ryuga smiled and leaned into her.
The night went on, as the two lovers had their fun. Once they were satisfied, they slept peacefully, awaiting the wedding the next day.
