《Myungjin - I Fell For You~》[Chapter 4 - I Wouldn't Forget]

It was the next day and sunlight filled Myungjun's room. His previously set alarm rung at exactly 8 am causing him to squint due to the brightness. Half asleep he attempted to turn off the alarm, only succeeding after the third try.
Myungjun remembered that he was supposed to call the number on the business card that Jinwoo had given him yesterday. He slowly got up from the bed and then went to freshen up.
After having shaved and showered, he pulled out a box of cereal and a carton of milk. As he lazily ate a spoonful, he decided to ring up the number from the business card and patiently waited for someone to receive it.
"Good Morning, this is Crystal Corporation's front desk, Sunie Speaking. How may I help you?"
"Hello, this is Kim Myungjun. I'm calling in regards to your company interested in hiring a new Graphic Designer. I received your business card from a man named Jinwoo. He said to mention that Mr. Park has permitted my attendance at that hiring."
"Oh one second Sir. I will just be confirming that. Please hold."
Myungjun ate another spoonful of cereal as he heard overplayed elevator jazz music.
-----------------------------------------------------------
It was 8:49 am when Jinwoo's work phone rang. The screen monitor showed that the company's front desk was calling. He picked up on the fourth ring to hear a woman's voice on the line. It was Sunie, the front desk lady.
"Good Morning Sir. It's Sunie from the front desk and I'm calling in regards to a man named Kim Myungjun. He says that you have permitted his attendance at the Graphic Designer hiring. I'm calling to see if you are able to confirm this information."
"Good Morning Sunie, and yes I have permitted Mr. Kim's attendance. I have asked him to bring his Resume and proof of Identity on that day."
"Thank you Sir for the confirmation. I will let Mr. Kim know about the requirements for the hiring. Thank you for your time."
"No problem."
Jinwoo hung up the phone and looked at the time to see it was 8:55 am. Secretary Lee should be coming to his office door to inform him about today's agendas. He leaned back in his expensive leather chair and took out his personal phone.
He flicked through his saved contacts to see Myungjun's name appear. He slightly smiled until it immediately faded as Secretary Lee walked into his office.

Myungjun managed to gulp down another spoonful of cereal before the lady returned to the line.
"Mr. Kim?"
"Yes?"
"Mr. Kim, I have contacted Mr. Park and yes your attendance will be recorded for the hiring. You are required to come tomorrow at 11 am sharp with your Resume, your proof of identity and a USB containing your best works that you will be presenting to our staff. On the day, please come to the front desk to sign in and receive your visitor's pass. I or the other front desk staff will be able to guide you regarding further instructions."
"Ah thank you. So I'll be arriving tomorrow and coming to the front desk for further instructions?"
"Yes. Was there anything else Sir?"
"No, that will be all. Thank you for your time."
"You are welcome. Have a nice day Sir."
"Same to you", Myungjun said as he hung up the call.
After finishing his bowl of cereal and drinking a glass of orange juice, Myungjun headed over to his work desk to see piles of paper and stationery all over. He scrounged through his drawers until he found the file that had his Resume all neatly placed.
Myungjun decided to message Jinwoo to tell him that he had called the company.
Myungjun set his phone down on a table and decided to pick what to wear tomorrow. Since it's an important hiring where he will be interviewed, Myungjun chose to wear a simple black suit with a blue tie. He set aside his wristwatch to compliment his outfit and took out a leather briefcase, big enough to put his resume and documents that will be needed for the day.
-----------------------------------------------------------
It was finally the day of the hiring and Myungjun had made sure he woke up at 8 am so he could get ready in time. He ate breakfast and then wore his outfit. While Myungjun put on his watch, he saw the time as 10:02 am. Once he had packed everything that was required, he locked the apartment door, got in his car and made his way to 'Crystal Corporation' with the help of his navigation system.
As he entered the expensive building, he saw people being busy with their own duties. Myungjun made his way to the front desk where he saw a familiar face. It was Miss Sunie who greeted him with a smile.
"Good Morning Mr. Kim."
"Ah Good Morning. Where do I sign in for my visitor's pass?"

"Oh let me show you."
Miss Sunie showed Myungjun the table where the visitor passes were.
"Let me know if you need any help. Once you've filled in your pass, make your way over to the front desk so I could give you a briefing on what the interview is going to be like."
"Thank you."
"You are welcome."
After filling his visitor's pass and getting some information about the interview from the front desk lady, Myungjun sat down at an available seat in the office lounge as he waited for his name to be called. He looked around to see if Jinwoo was there by chance as he had said he would meet him beforehand. Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be seen.
Myungjun put his briefcase aside and took out his phone. He was contemplating whether he should call Jinwoo or not. He decided not to and just opened and re-read the messages that were sent between them yesterday.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Jinwoo was in his office, repeatedly taking glances as his digital wall clock. Secretary Lee was occupied in stating the agendas for the day until Jinwoo cut off Mr. Lee saying
"Why don't we make our way to our first agenda?"
Secretary watched Jinwoo get up from his chair and grab his coat.
"Alright Sir."
Both men made their way out of the office and headed into the elevator. Secretary Lee pressed the ground floor button as their first agenda was to attend the hiring.
Once they exited the elevator, Jinwoo's eyes searched the lobby for a specific figure.
"Mr. Lee, I'll be over at the hiring in a few minutes. Why don't you make your way over there? I won't be long."
Saying that Jinwoo made his way over to the front desk leaving Secretary Lee a little puzzled yet he made his way to the interviewing room.
"Good Morning Mr. Park. What a nice surprise to see you here at the front desk."
"Good Morning Sunie. Do you by any chance know if Myungj-. I mean if Mr. Kim has arrived yet?"
"Ah yes. He came just in time and is sitting over in the lounge to get his name called."
"Great! Thank you Sunie."
"Anytime Sir. Have a nice day."
Jinwoo walked over to the lounge where he saw a man sitting down with a leather briefcase next to him. He was focused on his phone with a saddened expression.
"Is it okay if I sit here?", Jinwoo said with a smile.
Myungjun looked up as he heard the familiar voice of the man. A smile formed on his face as he moved his briefcase to the other side of him to allow Jinwoo to sit down.
"I was worried you would forget to meet me before the interview", Myungjun said with a laugh.
"I wouldn't forget", Jinwoo replied.
For the next 7 odd minutes, Jinwoo briefly gave Myungjun some tips for the interview until it was time for the hiring to start.
Myungjun was the fourth person to be interviewed so he had some time to rehearse lines in his head about his introduction.
Jinwoo looked at his watch to see it was already 10:58 am.
"Best of luck for your interview. Let me know how it went after okay? Message me when you're done and I'll see if I can make time to meet you. I have to go to a meeting now but see you later."
"Oh okay. Thanks again and see you soon."
Jinwoo made his way to the interview room to be greeted by the staff who were carrying out the meeting.
The first interviewee was average, the second one seemed way too nervous and kept making mistakes and the third one was very impressive and had worked with multiple well-known brands.
It was interesting to see their work and styles and Jinwoo was glad he decided to attend.
It was finally time for Myungjun's turn. Just before he entered, Jinwoo excused himself from the room and left.
Myungjun made his way to the chair that was for the interviewees and sat down with his briefcase. He saw the staff who were going to interview him and tried to calm himself from his heart rapidly beating due to his nervousness.
He needed this job desperately. Myungjun was confident in his work and just hoped he was good enough to be hired.
While the staff had begun to interview Myungjun, Jinwoo stood outside the interviewing room, with a worried expression on his face.
