《SECOND TRIAL | tk | ✓》14. CONTRAST

either this was a dream or its just another way of life giving him what he wanted only to take it away later.
the reunion of the two friends was nothing but emotional, their sobs had the usually loud police station sound so quiet with everyone taking glances their way.
"i-its been three m-months, tae. i was-- so worried" jimin had wailed like a baby clutching onto taehyung for his dear life.
3 months? taehyung was lost between feeling if time went by too fast or too slow.
"i-i'm sorry-" taehyung had all but sobbed into jimins shoulders, too lost for words.
sorry, for dragging you into this too. sorry, for being a horrible friend, were the unsaid words.
the police officer accompanied them stood by awkwardly watching the exchange.
then, there were official formalities through which taehyung remained mute- still trembling, still hiccuping, too lost in reality.
so the officers saw them out- asking jimin to bring by taehyung in two days and after jimin requested, they agreed an officer to be stationed outside their apartment for protection.
almost drowned in his outfit, taehyung was still shaking so bad, jimin was worried,
"i think we should visit a hospital, tae" jimins composed yet concerned voice spoke up.
"No-- dont. to home please-" taehyung eyes held so much fear, jimin nodded his head, shaken, and passed the address to the uber driver,
and within a short ride they were back in their apartment.
now to be walking outside, in the nive weather that contrasted against taehyungs inner turmoil, he wasn't one bit happy, an emotion too foreign to his these days. rather he was scared.
taehyungs unfocused eyes were everywhere, looking around the world like a newborn and taehyungs tensed shoulders sagged as he took a step inside their shitty apartment, their home.
his eyes welled up again, even the same obnoxious yellow couch looked comfy and when oreo had came jumping off of it with a questioning "mreow" which had turned more aggressive, taehyung had broke into tears hugging the small cat to his chest.
"tae--" jimins teary voice brought him back to the reality.
"what had happened?" the same watery voice inquired as he too crouched down on the floor.
how is he ever going to explain the things that happened? taehyung thinks he himself cant go through that memory lane again.
"y-you shouldn't have, chim-- now t-they will come for you too--" taehyung was bare infront of jimin, the friend who has been with him all the time, the friend to whom he had lied to.

"who? Your husband?" jimin scowled.
"you d-dont understand-" taehyung doesn't know how to explain and the fear in the others voice was making jimin anxious too.
then there was a resonating knock on the door and both friends flinched away.
"mr. park? i'm from seoul police station--" the calm voice said from other side and jimin heaved out a breath.
"just wanted to let you know i will be outside"
"-thankyou" jimin had said loud enough for the person outside to hear, before he turned to taehyung again with a relieved sigh.
then jimin had stood up helping a sniffling taehyung to the couch as he went to the kitchen and made tea passing it to the other hoping it will make him calm.
"i had tried everything to talk to you, tae--" jimin explained his numerous attempts to meet the ceo and about the mysterious min yoongi at the name of which taehyung tensed.
"i had got a tip yesterday-- a letter outside the apartment door-- it had asked me to file a complaint to the police station" jimin stuttered through the words, he himself wondering how weird all of this is.
a tip?
who would do that?
taehyung thoughts ran for possibilities and all of them had ended unpleasantly.
"i d-dont know, tae. just tell me what all this is" jimins voice was a plead.
so taehyung did.
"they're dangerous--"
taehyung first started about how he had lied to jimin about his parents. he explained about his father, the mafia, his husband, the contract- saying out loud all of it made him realize how twisted his life has become, how deep he is stuck in all of this.
and by the end of it jimin was pale on his face.
"y-you-- i cant believe all this-" jimins voice was small, heart hammering in his chest.
"how will we escape this, tae? what will we do--" jimins voice broke mid sentence, palm cupping his mouth as he still disbelievingly looked at his friend.
Oh taehyung wish he knew the answer to that.
he wonders if an escape is even possible.
and when jimin leaned in close, taehyung hugged him suppressing his own tears.
"they will drag you back. they will destroy everything you love. they will destroy you--" taehyungs mind kept on reminding him.
then through the silence of the apartment, another loud series of knocks resonated, this time they were frantic.
"mr. park? mr. kim?" it was a voice much deeper yet gentle.
jimin had stood up rubbing at his eyes as he took tentative steps before opening the door just enough for him to peak.

when he saw the familiar police uniform, he let the door open freely with a sigh.
the officer was tall, had his cap on and black mat of hair shadowing his eyes and his whole demeanor looked tense.
"we have to leave now" the officer had urgently said.
"w-why?" jimins eyes widened, along with taehyung stiffening behind him.
"i got information that its not-- safe here" the officers eyes darted back and forth the corridor,
"hurry-" and with that both friends were out, jimin taking oreo as they left her with their neighbors before jolting after the officer as they got in the police car.
"w-what happened?" taehyungs voice spoke up as the car engine started but their was no response except for the shiver along the officers hand and unpleasant alpha scents.
taehyung feels something is very wrong.
taehyung tried himself to be not paranoid, telling himself that this is a police officer after all, and he made sure to give a comforting squeeze to jimins palm held on his own.
but soon the view outside were turning less and less buildings, no more sky scrapers, no more people and they were taking unknown routes.
"--officer, where are we going?" jimin asked uneasily, his breathing coming out harsh with the anxiousness.
the officer didn't utter a word.
"stop the car." taehyungs this time screamed out and the officer rumbled, frustrated.
the car only picked up the speed then, driving away from the city, with everything locked and no way to escape.
angry and scared, taehyung had lunged forward with his hands tight around the officers neck and there was a growl before the car skidded and abruptly came to a stop.
both taehyung and jimin backed away when the officer got out of the driver's seat and sauntered towards them, before pulling both the omegas out from the back seat of the car.
then only they had noticed a building of some sort to their front, a shabby looking warehouse among the desert-like bare terrain.
"let go-" jimin protested, trying to break away the hold, but namjoons hand only tightened around both of them as he pulled the omegas towards the warehouse, their steps staggering behind.
"--im sorry" was all the officer said, taehyung noticing the pained look on the alpha before the officer was kicking open the warehouse door and getting in.
both taehyung and jimin were then unceremoniously thrown onto the floor, them landing on their knees, hands hitting the dirty hay on the floor with jimin wincing when his palm scraped on the uneven surface.
their eyes took a moment to adjust to the darkness as they frantically looked around.
taehyung could feel his own heartbeat in his ear, his neck feeling hot, palm sweaty and scent souring like anything as he saw multiple silhouettes clad in suits and guns around them.
then his eyes got stuck on the form tied onto a chair, a girl, and taehyung had gasped out when he recognized her,
-the doctor?
when there was a thud close by taehyung had flinched only to see the officer on his knees now, head drooping and shaking all over.
"--please let her go hyungnim-- p-please dont hurt nayeon-" the officer begged, his shoulders shaking with the sobs the alpha let out.
the omega sucked in a breath, a whimper tearing out of him as he saw a form strolling towards the said alpha.
seokjin- his suit a bit wrinkled than he is used to see, hair a mess yet perfect and his face, it was scary, like a maniac, almost murderous.
"did everything i told you to do--such a good alpha, aren't you, joonie?" seokjin cooed, fingers pulling at a handful of the officers hairs whose face was red with anger and humiliation.
taehyungs throat was dry, his hands were shaking along with the thundering of his heartbeat and with tear brimmed eyes, he looked around-
because if seokjin is here, then...
like a constant shadow chasing after him, fear trudged through his bones when his eyes met those sharp ones- those eyes to which he had accustomed to for the past three months.
and all those eyes held were promises of more pain.

:
as much as i would love to write taekook fluff, with this book that wont happen any time soon.
and just make them fall in love with each other in a day or so is not my writing style.
i'm seriously not trying to portray taehyungs character as weak. he has emotions and feelings, and what he's experiencing is totally valid. its in no way a weakness.
i'm telling again, please dont continue to read if this book makes you uncomfortable, coz thats the last thing i ever want to do to my readers. ty ily

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
