《SECOND TRIAL | tk | ✓》34. TRAGIC

that ended up quite tragic.
tragic to yoongi considering the beta is firing at unknown people through his phone; jimin thinks he never seen anyone swear that much in a single breath.
tragic to hoseok, since the alpha has got a death grip on the steering wheel, his knuckles white and veins are prominent in his forearm.
and jimin.
now jimin doesn't know if it is tragic to him.
taking the familiar road back to the apartment from where he had departed hours ago, jimin isnt sad, there is no anguish, but he is angry.
one because he couldn't talk to his best friend, couldn't got to give him a hug and tell him that everything will be alright even if that was a false reassurance,
and secondly because of that one question revolving in his head; does hoseok and yoongi dont care one single bit? were they really that desperate to get rid of him?
and that makes him angry.
and thats exactly why when the car stops and they're back in the apartment and yoongi starts babbling a-
"look jimin- we had no idea they were leaving to japan too--- will book another flight soon-- sorry",
and jimin breaks.
"so thats it?" jimins voice had the other two stilling.
"you two are that desperate to get rid of me?" jimins scent was unpleasant, like a meadow after a hurricane, dull and aching for a chance to bloom again.
"jimin what are you-?" hoseoks brows furrow, confusion evident.
"You jack him off to my name and now you're acting clueless?" the omega nothing but screams, pointing an accusing finger.
hoseoks mouth hangs open like a fish in water and yoongi, the color vanishes off his face only for it to return, bright red.
"i-i can explain" surprisingly, yoongi was the one who found his voice.
"explain how?" jimin narrows, taking a step ahead, and honestly the two higher ranks were intimidated infront of the omega.
"its just-- your scent is so good with us own and-- and we kind of ended up --liking you-" yoongi stammers.

"min yoongi." jimin utters and the betas mouth snaps shut, cheeks still red contrasting against the mint of his hair and pale of his skin.
"kiss me"
as jimin uttered those words, hoseok made a strangled noise from somewhere back and yoongi just stood there looking at jimin as if he just grew two horns.
so the omega took things into his own hands and leaned in, their lips grazing in a feather light kiss before yoongi gained back his senses and deepened the kiss.
once they pulled apart, flushed and still in a state of disbelief, jimin coyly threw a side glance at hoseok.
"do i need to send you an invitation for you to come and kiss me, alpha?" with voice still borderline anger,
but when hoseoks fingers were in his orange roots and growl resonating against jimins lips, yoongis hands at the dip of his hips and mint strands tickling his neck, jimin felt belonged,
jimin felt home.

maybe it was the weather or maybe its the early morning fog, taehyung felt even his teeth start to clatter as they stepped out of the airplane into the japan air.
he pulled at the cardigan ends, enveloping it on his hands onto which he blew hot air from his mouth as jungkooks hand directed him through the not too busy airport, outside to where sleek black cars are parked.
tokyo was a simple beauty. there were all sorts of color in the streets, and it stretched beyond eyes like a cat in the warm sun; from bold advertisements to neon signs, chain restaurants to dens hiding things suspicious.
taehyung took all of it in; distracting the anxiety swirling inside him, instead presses his still aching cheeks into the welcoming coldness of the car windows as they start to move ahead.
the hotel infront of which they stop is as expected expensive; expensive in the sense it is by the side of a river, the decor woody, golden lights and chandliers, and it expanses out in hectares of lands.

as always there were people bowing at their service, them even greeting taehyung probably because they think he has the jeon on his fingertips with his pillow-talk.
jungkook only had to say a few words and a swipe of his black card later, they were being guided onto their suite. it was easily thrice their room back in korea, too extravagant but with a beautiful view of the lake,
but taehyung wanted to turn and run, because there is so much space, too much clutter.
everything felt so wrong and his omega wanted to demolish the whole thing and build up a nest from scratch, but he doesn't even have a single nesting blanket with him.
taehyungs nose twitched at the artificial scents causing him to bring his sleeves to his nose to breath in the lingering scents of him and jungkook, thats the only thing familiar.
the trip was short, but taehyung was tired and as their bags were delivered, jungkook freshened up and caught him with a hard look stating "behave", before leaving to god knows where.
and now taehyung was alone.
the feeling of abandonment that comes with it, alongwith jungkooks revelations before they took the trip- taehyungs omega was uneasy, it physically showing up in the form of clammy hands even in the cold weather and his own erratic heartbeat.
so without taking a tour or not even bothering to shower, he climbed to the bed, dusting away at the rose petals that the hotel staffs sprinkled onto the bed, before getting under the duvet and slipping into a fitful sleep.
minutes, or maybe hours later when taehyung was surfacing from sleep, there where still remnants of the nightmares behind his eyes; sand and water.
"god, you're stinking up this room" the consious part of him heard the alphas voice, somewhere close and a hand on his middle.
"i'm drowning" taehyung whimpers. his eyes are moving behind his lids, a jittery-ness in his limbs as if its being stopped from flailing.
"i will pull you up, pup" taehyung hears jungkooks voice like a chuckle, very much real.
"you're the one drowning me" the omega murmurs.
"hm why?" there is a rustle beside him and jungkook is closer.
"so you can knock up another bitch"
jungkook laughs this time.
"jealous?" he asks.
"just disgusted" taehyung replys, sleep addled voice a monotone.
when jungkook moves in closer, he realizes the other is shirtless and it is bright outside, much warmer.
"you know-- i never thought anyone can be more cruel than my father-- but you" taehyung squirms when jungkooks hand snakes around him; how they always end up like this in bed? a mystery,
"you're just the worst alpha ever" he continues with a sleepy groan.
it might be true in taehyungs perspective considering kyungjae treated his mother well when she got pregnant and then provided for both of them the least. but jungkook here seems to have not a single kind bone in him.
"i know" jungkook agrees.
"why do you hate me so much?" taehyung asks, genuinely.
sure he is part kim. but jungkook sure knows by now that hurting him wont waver his father. then why?
"because thats easier" jungkook answer was a whisper that echoed in the silence.
its easier ; because jungkook can hurt taehyung all he wants and that is mutual hate.
hate is easy.
but things like these- like the feeling jungkook gets when he sees taehyung nest, or the round tummy filled with his pups,
whatever that feeling is, jungkook doesn't know how to handle it.
"how?" taehyung asks.
"its like mountain snow. there is no point if the path waits for breaking" jungkook says, raw.
maybe thats the first honest thing jungkook has ever shared and taehyung thinks he can understand it.
tragic. their destiny sure is.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.
