"So do you girl want to do brunch first, or shopping?" Harper asked as she sat in the drivers seat.

"Food" Sky whined.

We laughed. "I'm going to have to agree with you there, girly." I said and ruffled her hair. She pushed my hand away but smiled at me.

"I'm agreeing too" Remi said.

"Yeah same" Kenzie chimed in.

Harper shrugged. "Looks like it's unanimous, brunch it is. I know this cute restaurant in the next town over."

We all nodded in agreement. Girls day was much needed after I came back and before school started. Skylar was so excited for her first year of school. She's gonna be in kindergarten. Kenzie was gonna be in eighth grade and Remi and I were seniors. Harper told us she'd take the four of us out for brunch and shopping.

We drove out of our small town to another town close by. We listened to Disney music, which all of us loved despite being teenagers. The four of us sang along and Harper even sang some verses to the songs she knew.

We finally pulled up to a little place called The Farmhouse. It was really cute on the outside. It had white brick exterior and black and white lettering for the sign.

Harper parked her car in the parking lot and we piled out. I helped Sky our of her carseat and carried her into the restaurant. Thankfully it didn't look too busy.

We got seated almost immediately and they took our drink orders. Rémi ans Harper got coffee. Kenzie got orange juice. I got apple juice and Sky got chocolate milk.

The waitress came back with our drinks only a few minutes after we ordered. She didn't write anything down and got it all right.

"Do you guys need a few more minute to decide what to eat?" She asked sweetly.

"Yes please, thank you" Harper answered.

We looked through the menu and found what we wanted. There were small conversations going on but nothing major.

"Are y'all ready?" The waitress asked.

Harper nodded and ordered hers and Sky's food.

"I'll have the pancakes please, and can I get extra whipped cream on the top, thank you" I said as I handed her my menu.

"Sausage or bacon?"

"Bacon please and thank you"

She smiled at me and face Remi. "Got it, and for you?" Remi got French toast with strawberries and Kenzie got the same with blueberries.

The waitress smiled and told us that they'll be out as soon as possible. She didn't write down a single thing. I don't know how'll she'll remember it all.

"So, how's the love lives for you girls? Kenzie do you have a boyfriend, or a crush?" Harper asked excitedly.

"I have a boyfriend. His name is Grayson. It's been about a year since we started dating." She nodded and a blush formed on her face. It always happened when we talked about Gray.

"So cute and Remi you're dating Carter right?" Harper asked.

Remi nodded. "Yes we started dating this summer. Actually tomorrow is our two month."

Harper smiled. "Happy two month anniversary then." She smiled.

"Looks like everyone has a boyfriend except me" Sky pouted.

"It's okay Sky boys are yucky anyway" I said.

She nodded in agreement.

We talked about life and girl things until our food came out. I was caught up in all the drama that happened while I was gone. Apparently Lena and Con almost broke up but made out and made up twice.

Our food came out and the pancakes were as big as my head. The french toast looked pretty good to me and Harper's home style breakfast looked so good. Again the waitress didn't miss a beat. She got everything right without writing it down.

We ate and got ready to go shopping. Harper insisted that she pay for breakfast. We told her we brought our own money, but she wouldn't let it go. So she ended up paying for everything. We tipped generously because the waitress really did deserve it.

"Okay shopping is next, do you want to stay in the town? I think there's a shopping center or mall around here somewhere. Or we could go back home and shop there" Harper asked as we all buckled into our seat belts.

We all shrugged again. "Either is fine" I said.

"Yeah but we've been there already. Let's stay here" Kenz suggested.

"Yeah it'll be new and exciting" Remi agreed.

Harper nodded. "Here it is"

We found out where we were going and Harper drove us there. It was a shopping g mall and it looked a little busy. Sugarside Mall.

"Sky, you yay with me or one of the girls at all times. Do not let go of anyones hand, okay?" Harper explained to her five year old as we walked up to the mall.

Sky nodded. "Yes mommy" she said cutely.

"Let's go girls" Harper said and we walked into the main entrance. It wasn't a big mall by any means but it was cute and had a ton of different stores, way more than back home.

We went into the first store we saw which was H&M. they had cute clothes, just nothing that I really wanted or needed. The girls thought the same thing and we left the store empty handed.

Harpers phone rang as we were about to go into Forever 21.

"You girls go and shop. I'm gonna take this, it's your dad Cora"

I nodded. "Okay, come on Sky" I reached out my hand for her and she took it. We way into the store as Harper answered the call.

Sky found these necklaces with a simple heart on each one. They were really cute and simple. It made them the perfect candidate for everyday use.

"We should get matching ones" Kenzie suggested.

"Yeah yeah yeah" Sky jumped up and down. She loved the idea of us all matching.

"Okay you got it dude" Remi said to the enthusiastic five year old.

We walked through the store for a few minutes. Again it was a bust. I guess we weren't having the best of luck.

Harper met up with us as we were in line.

"That was your dad. He wants to go on a date but my sister is busy and I can't get a babysitter on such short notice" Harper explained with a hint of desperation in her voice.

"I got her" I said. "You two need a date night. I got her for a night. It's really no big deal Harper"

"Are you sure?" She asked.

I nodded. "Of course I love this little nugget. Besides I didn't have plans anyway"

Harper let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much, Cora. That means so much to me."

"You're welcome Harper" I hugged her.

"Next please" the lady called from the register.

"I got these" I told the girls and they looked at me like I had a third eyeball. "I'm paying for them. Give them to me." I opened and closed my palm.

They sighed and handed them over. They knew they weren't going to win this conversation.

I went and paid for all four necklaces. I put Sky's on first and then mine as the girls put on theirs.

"You got her a necklace?" Harper asked.

I nodded. "Yeah we're all matching" I said and showed her our matching necklaces.

"Y'all didn't have to do that"

We waved her off. "Don't worry Harper we wanted to." Remi said and Kenzie agreed.

"Thank you guys so much, really"

"It's nothing" Kenz chimed in.

With that we went to the rest of the stores. We found some stuff at Buckle and Tilly's. It was in all a pretty successful trip to the mall. Harper got something for her date tonight.

"Bye Dad, bye Harper. You two have fun tonight. I got Sky"

"Are you sure you'll be okay? She has to be in bed by eight thirty. She might need help brushing her teeth and going potty before bed. Oh and-" she got cut off by Dad wrapping his arms around her waist.

His kissed her cheek. "Come on Harp, Cora and Sky will be fine. Cora is perfectly capable of babysitting Sky. She has our numbers if anything goes wrong."

She nodded and let Dad drag her out. "She has asthma, don't run around so much"

"We'll be fine Harper. I promise. Sky say bye to mom" I said as I waved her and Dad off.

"Bye mommy" she waved. Harper waved back at her five year old in my arms.

Once they were in the car. I shut the door and locked it. "Okay nugget, what do you want to do first?"

She shrugged.

"We could play board games?" I suggested. She shook her head no. "Color?" Head shake. "I could paint your nails and watch movies in my room?" Her face lit up and she nodded.

I walked to the kitchen to get some snacks and drinks while she climbed up the stairs to my room. Bandit followed close behind her to make sure she's safe. He loves Sky.

After I got everything I went up to my room. Skylar was already on my bed petting Bandit's belly. I set the food down on the bed and put the drinks on the nightstand.

"Are you ready to paint some nails?" I asked.

Sky smiled and jumped up and down clapping.

"I'll take that as a yes. What movie do you want to watch?"

"Tangled! Tangled!" She cheered.

I grabbed the remote and turned on Tangled for her. I had her pick a color and I started on her nails.

We sang along to all the songs as I painted her nails. Bandit was having fun barking and dancing around. Towards the end of the movie towards the end of the movie I could sense Skylar getting tired. Her blinks were slow and heavy and she got a lot less energetic.

"Let's go potty and brush your teeth, Sky, want to?" I said quietly.

She nodded slowly and reached out her hands for me to pick her up. I did and lead her to the bathroom. She went potty first and she didn't need help with that. I picked her up and helped her brush her teeth, she was struggling in that department.

I took her back to my room and wrapped her in her blanket. I got all the snacks off my bed and started to clean up a little bit.

"Coco, can you sleep with me?" She asked groggily.

I looked at her sweet little face. I smiled and nodded as I laid next to her. Bandit laid on her other side. I played with her hair until I heard the soft snores. I carefully got up as not to wake her.

I picked up all our trash from our movies and mani-pedis. I threw it away and put up everything where I needed to be. Thankfully, we didn't spill anything.

It wasn't long after that Dad and Harper came in.

"Hey Coco, how was it?" Dad asked quietly as they walked in.

"It was good, we painted nails and watched movies. Nothing too extreme. She was so sweet and fell asleep a little over an hour ago" I explained.

Harper put her hand over her heart. "I'm so glad she was good for you. Thank you again Cora. I know you have you're own life and you didn't have to do this"

I placed my hand on her arm. "Stop, Harper, I love Sky and I would've done this no matter what. She's a part of my life now, you're a part of my life now."

She looked like she had tears in her eyes. She wrapped her arms around me.

"I love you Cora"

"I love you too Harper."

Dad grabbed Harper by the arm. "Let's go honey," he kissed her neck. "Bed time" Harper smacked him lightly.

Dad kissed my head. "Good night Coco, sleep tight"

I smiled at him. "Night Dad. Night Harper"

"Night sweetie" she smiled as Dad dragged her out of my room.

I laid back down and plugged my phone in. Before I knew it I was falling asleep.
