You always tease me about that. About 'dramatic bedside confessions and grand gestures'. It's an oft-told story, dramatized and played up. You love it. It took a while for me to appreciate as much as you do, to rewrite it as a love story and forget all the pain and time it took for us to get there.

You always say that with the two of us, there's no other way it would have ended up.

I don't know if I believe in fate, or destiny, but on good days, I believe you. On good days, I believe that the universe was guiding us together, that I was always going to be able to wake up with you in my bed and my life.

That it was always going to be you, heart too big, brain too quick for the rest of us to keep up with. That I love you, and miraculously, you love me back.

And that's not just enough. That's everything.
