Joe did his best to take care of his parents house and stay healthy. He was the only one of the four family members not chosen. The societal upheaval made by the announcement made the inflation and purges of the 20's seem pleasant by comparison but he keeps his head down and survives. Once the next message arrives 11 months later about the contest starting, even that society broke down into city states around large population centers. Joe tightened his belt and looked forward to the day that his family returned. Two years later burning red letters once again filled his vision. Humanity, the last of your competitors have been eliminated. Your determined caste level is 13 of 13. As such your planet has been claimed and will be repurposed for ideal resource production. Rifts will be seeded across the planet to increase resources and mana density. Your orbit will be corrected to ideal Hegemon standard. Do not interfere with any Hegemon activity, as the bottom caste you have no rights. Rejoice that all castes receive at least the basic Hegemon Growth System. Better luck next century. Joe didn't comprehend any of it. His family was dead. Everything he cared about was gone.

Bloodlines
Bloodlines is the first major story set in the far larger and immensely connected universe known as Infinitum. A group of renegades and misfits take into the sky in their fancy skyship to fulfill the prophecy they don't care about and defeat the Empire they care even less about. In the process, they learn things (they would rather not) of the fucked up Universe, dead gods, and the future that holds no mercy. Bloodlines draws inspiration from One Piece. But in the bigger picture, Bloodlines is one of many stories set in Cosmere-like universe where plots stretch beyond planets and star systems and stakes are higher than godhood (like in Malazan chronicles). Currently, I am planning to finish the first arc [Bandit Arc], add 10k words interlude with some revelations, then publish a story happening elsewhere. Then I will be back to write the second arc. For now, the Fifth Region has 8 arcs planned. Officially, there are 5 regions. The Fifth Region is not the shortest but is far from the longest regions. - PS. Pay attention to flavor text. July 2022 update! After months of deliberation, I've decided to continue with this cast of characters in the next books instead. The loose ends in this story have been keeping me up all night. I've gotten started on 2 sequels to this; Rebirth of Destiny II based on the good ending and the alternative ending. After I get a good backlog built up they'll be published once a week.
