Marinette had gone to Gotham to escape. To escape the constant fear of Akuma's, even though she'd defeated Hawkmoth with Chat. Chat...... Chat had given his life for her, restoring her breath at the cost of his own, making her promise to keep on living, to keep on being herself even without him... Marinette couldn't bear all the memories of her beloved, he was gone, yet anytime she walked by a place they'd hung out, she could almost see and hear him there.
So she left, to save her sanity...
And that, that is why she was in Gotham. Why had she chosen Gotham? Well, to be honest Master Fu had vaguely mentioned an ally in Gotham, by the name of Alfred Pennyworth, although she wasn't able to get Master Fu to tell her anymore, so she was basically blind here-
"Excuse me Miss, might I trouble you to answer a riddle for me?" Marinette glanced up, noticing for the first time the Riddler, who happened to be standing in front of her.
"Well that depends...? If I answer your riddle correctly, will you listen to a rant-?" she asked, playing her cards so that she could thoroughly chew him out for his awful choice of outfit.
"Alright fine, but if your answer is incorrect, you die." The Riddler said pressing a gun against Marinette's head, causing her to stiffen up, the Riddler grinned before continuing to speak,
"The riddle is: The more you take, the more you leave behind, what are they?" Marinette laughed, and responded with,
"Footsteps! I thought you'd have a hard riddle!" Marinette pulled away from the gun, turning to face The Riddler, "I can deal with the riddles, even the killing people, but what, WHAT possessed you to make that outfit?! [insert ranting about his outfit- ]"

With that, Marinette turned tail, and walked off.
"Excuse me, Ma'am, we'd like to talk with you about that just happened." Nightwing stated from behind Marinette, who sighed and turned.
"I'll cooperate on one condition; after we're done, you help me find Alfred Pennyworth, or what's left of him if he's dead." Nightwings eyes widened, and Marinette considered. Either he knows, knew, or IS Alfred Pennyworth.... no, he's not Alfred, Alfred is older,
"What do you want with Alf- Mr. Pennyworth?" Nightwing asked, snapping Marinette out of her thoughts. Marinette noticed his slip up, so Alfred was alive-? And Nightwing knew him.
Marinette chuckled, "He was the friend of my Mentor, who passed, I wish to inform him of the events the lead to my mentor's demise." she stated, choosing her words carefully.
Nightwing, forgetting about the Riddler jumped down from the lamp ole he'd been balanced on, and hugged the girl.
"I'm sure your mentor is proud of you. I'm not able to take you to Al- Mr. Pennyworth, but I can give you directions to Wayne Manor. He works and lives there." Marinette smiled and thanked Nightwing, before heading off to meet Alfred.

Marinette knocked lightly on the door of the Manor, for it to be opened up by a young adult with a white streak in his hair. Marinette smiled at him.
"Hello, I'm looking for one Alfred Pennyworth. Do you know where I might find him?" The mans eyes widened, obviously people didn't usually come to see their butler, he blinked a couple of times before saying,
"Yeah, um, he's inside. if you'll follow me." And walked off, Marinette chuckled and followed Jason to a living room of sorts, where the entire family was situated.
"Hey guys, have you seen Alfred?" Jason asked, and was greeted by a round of "no"s and then, Alfred walked in, only to pause.

"Marinette?" He asked, for Wang had sent him a great many letters about her and her partner, "What happened?! Is Wang alright?! Did you defeat Hawkmoth??? Is Chat ok?!"
Marinette turned to him.
"Alfred? Master Fu mentioned you a few times... that's why I came. What's the last thing you heard from Master Fu?" Alfred paused, thinking.
"Chloe had just been Akumatized, with the Bee... the letter appeared to be unfinished and rushed...." Marinette sighed.
"Miracle Queen. Well, Chat and I defeated them, at the cost of Master Fu's Guardianship. He transferred it to me... Oh geez, I was probably 12, but that's besides the point... Chat and I... defeated Hawkmoth, I was going to die, the Butterfly and Peacock miraculous attacked me, and I died... Chat... wished me back to life.... At the cost of his own life..."
Alfred gasped, pulling Marinette into a hug,
"Oh dear. Wang lost his memory and you had to fight without ANY guidance at 12?! And when you won you lost your love... I'm sorry child. I wish I could've helped you..."
The Batman sat in stunned silence... one thought running through all of their heads, "What just happened?!"

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat, 10am Central/ 3pm GMT. ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.

Forgotten Dungeon
Death comes quickly and without warning. Even for such little personage as him. It's quite hard to start as a dungeon core. Quite harder when divine bureaucracy simply dumps you in the a** end of nowhere because of their incompetence and because of your agent status as a Fallen Angel. Yet Uno (temporary name) is used to working with subpar materials and making the best of circumstances. It doesn't help that his personality was cut down to size, but he tries to overcome the system with ingenuity and a healthy dose of duct tape. Or the local equivalent of such. *** An audiobook of the Forgotten Dungeon story has been made by Agro Squerrils and is available on YouTube, under this link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcfzFNUhrNS3Z7DfjN5pMWn-CI1uKg3s2 He has my permission and full support for doing so, so don't be shy and check it out! *** Hello people! It's a story about a dungeon. Or maybe the dungeon? Who knows. Dumped in a hostile world, working hard to overcome circumstances. There is an RPG system in place, but I'll try to make it not number-heavy. I would be more focused on skills - at least from the perspective of the sentient races. Dungeons will have their own little playground. I'll try to make MC not overpowered - it always irks me how the stories tend to go from zero to hero in a few minutes. I hope y'all will enjoy the ride! *** Also, a Discord server has been made recently: https://discord.gg/sK2pam3 Join and share your opinions, if interested! :)

A Broken World [Rewrite]
In a world of floating islands of stone in the sky, where rivers flow through the air and defy gravity from one island to another, and ancient ruins can be found containing wonders beyond what can be produced by the lands current inhabitants- a millenia long war rages. In the distant past, beyond recorded history, when the crown of humanity's glory, the city of Uri, had stood whole against the enroaching demon swarms- even as hope seemed lost, a band of heroes, against all odds, managed to steal powerful magical knowledge from the demons. With the demon's forbidden knowledge, in the heart of Uri a new ritual was made. Called, "The Millenial Summoning," the ritual had the power to call a being from another world that would have the power to change the world forever. The first being summoned became known as "The Speaker," and he brought the power of the Gods to the world. With the blessings and power of the new priests, the unstoppable demon hordes were finally halted. A thousand years later, the ritual was used again and "The First Sorceress" was brought to the world. She brought the knowledge of advanced magics, and techniques to find and refine magical talent. With the magic power now added to the battlefield, the stalemate was broken. And for the first time, the demons were pushed back. Another thousand years later, and all of humanites hope for a final victory were dashed. Traitors slew the ritual's participants and took their places, and humanity quaked as The Demon King stepped into the world. His name, his nature, where he came from none of these are known, but what is known is his overwhelming power and his brilliant strategic leadership of the formerly formless hordes. Still, despite their position being even more dire than it has ever been since history has been recorded, humanity held on for another thousand years. Aided, thankfully, by The Demon King not taking the field after the first few years and battles. Now, the ritual is being cast again and a new hero is being summoned. In our world, after nearly three decades of study and hard work, Lucas Jaeger is making his dreams come true. With a double doctorate in both genetics and microbiology, as well as an associates degree in accounting, he has finally, after nearly driving himself mad from stress and sick from overwork, been able to put to together a presentation and ask for a business loan. His long time dream, earned by his own blood and sweat, to start his own commercial genetic company is finally coming to fruition. Lucas's car never left the banks parking lot and Lucas was never seen again in our world. This is a rewrite of "A Broken World." It is basically the same story, just a thousand times better and with decent length chapters!
