Chapter 19- The Bus Ride.
AMYRAH
After breakfast, we stood at the bus stop, waiting for another bus to come.
I had missed these things alot, honestly.
When I was schooling, buses used to pick us up after school and drop us to the bus stand, a place with lots of buses, and from there we would catch another bus and go home. It was always fun, the bus rides. Especially when you have all your friends.
Oh how I miss my group of friends!
"Here it is!!" squealed Kulthum, almost jumping around.
Guess what? The Zaeef's have NEVER been on a bus before. Like really? Rich life much? LOL.
We boarded the bus, one by one and I realized it had majority teens.
I took my seat and turned to Kulthum, who was beside me in the 3's.
"You will absolutely love this ride!" I told her and she laughed.
"I hope so too"
The bus began moving and slowly the music went up, making the backseat crew go wild with the cheers. The song was one of the Island mixes, I could tell and it had the 'dance' beat to it. The people at the back began yelling and doing the 'ayyy's and 'You go' and the 'GO' one.
I looked at Kulthum and we turned to the back.
There were a few guys, dancing to the beat. It was more of a 'move your hand and feet' kinda dance but it was fun.
I saw Kayan, taking their video. He clearly was enjoying this.
As if he knew I was staring, he turned to me with the phone pointing to me. I looked away because well........ it was..... weird.
He laughed and turned to them.
They were still dancing, this time on 'Thats what I like' of Bruno Mars. Boy, they were good! They did their heads and hands to the beat and I was hooked!

Soon they had to sit down because of the bumps and what not.
We began our chatters and commenting on the places we were passing when we heard yells and laughter again.
We turned to the back and this time, it was not just the teens dancing, the boys happened to join them.
Like literally!
Some song came up, an Island mix I assumed because it repeatedly said 'Iko Iko Anae' which is a Pacific word.
The beats were catchy and I put on my shades before looking at the one guy who had epic moves. Kayan Zaeef.
Who knew the uptight and almost scrowly Kayan could dance so well?
He threw his hands up in the air, a large grin on his face as he moved his hips to the beat. And with the moving bus, his moves were pretty smooth!
Finally they decided to sit down with a final loud cheer.
I shook my head and smiled.
This guy!
He took his seat beside Kulthum, pushing me to the side and I stiffled a laugh.
He could not sit still. He kept moving and at one point, Kulthum scold him.
"Bhai, please sit straight! Why are you hyper anyway?" she asked him and he chuckled, poking her cheeks.
Sahl turned from the front seat and so did Yazdan. When did they transfer to the seat infront of me?
"I think he thinks she thinks he is thinking she is thinking hes hyper which is why she thinks he thinks she is crazy" said Sahl and we all turned to him.
Say what brother?
"Dude thats so on point!" said Kayan and Yaz nodded, patting his back.
Kulthum rolled her eyes and I took off my shades and stared at them as if they were crazy.
"We understand each other well" said Kayan and I nodded in understanding, even though I got nothing.

Meh.
The ride went on and on until we were almost near the city. At some point, we could see the vast ocean infront of us and it was so pretty, Masha Allah!!
Finally we came to the city and got off the bus.
Kulthum stuck to Yazdan, Sahl and Safwah were twinning (as usual), Karman was with Umair, Urwa stuck to Farhaan and the couple of the moment, Aaiyla and Ehaan.
I guess that left Kayan with me.
Great.
"Lets go look around this place and then say if we don't find anything interesting, we go to Nadi Town?" said Aaiyla and we nodded.
I stared at my wallet in my hand and then turned to Urwa who actually had a small cute bag with her.
"Urwa, can you keep my wallet please?" I asked her and she nodded, taking it from me and putting it in her bag.
"Lets go to that mall" said Kulthum, pointing to a towering building.
As usual, this place has changed.
Alot.
"Okay"
We walked towards the mall in pairs because the place was busy.
Lucky for me, I was wearing a dress that reached my knees, black leggings and gray hijab that looked almost black, with black and white converse.
My dress was a flare from the chest kinda dress. It was so pretty! Yes I am obsessed with my own old clothes.
"Heyooh" he said, stepping on beside me and I nodded at him before looked around.
We walked past the alley into the mall.
"TAPPOO's!!" yelled Kulthum and soon she was dragging Yazdan with her there.
I guess she loves that place.
"She wants more clothes" said Kayan, as we stepped onto the elevator to go to the clothes floor.
Once we entered the floor, Kulthum literally ran towards the shop with dresses on window display.
I strolled about, until I saw a bookstore, a floor down.
"Guys, i will be back" I called to them and started my way to the stairs.
"Bookstore?"
I turned my head to see Kayan, smiling at me.
I stumbled abit on the step and he, almost reflectively held out his hand in case.
Yeah right!
"I am fine" I muttered, squaring my shoulders and standing straight.
"Its cool" he grinned, as we began walking down the steps.
I entered the bookstore and immediately smiled because of the aroma of books. That smell of books is always intoxicating.
"Bula madam! What can I do for you?" A native lady, with a wide smile asked me.
"Hello! No, I am just browsing around. If I am buying something, I will let you know" I replied and she nodded, walking away.
"This place is creepy" muttered Kayan behind me.
"Its called a place full of books" I said, rolling my eyes.
"Haha funny" he replied and I chuckled lowly.
"Thank you" with that, I began browsing the books.
There were not much good books here, like Crime or Thriller with some romance, because frankly speaking, the only romance I like is Korean Drama romance!
Finally after a long search, Kayan found me a book, The Criminal's Inception. It was more of a book about a mafia, how he became one and why he did what he did, and of course with a leading lady in the picture as his doctor. It was a good one.
I purchased it and Aaiyla texted me to come up to the food court because they were having food.
I turned to Kayan and he grinned again.
"Food it is" with that he walked to the elevators and we got in.
He pressed the food court button, and the elevator began moving.
We stood in silence before he broke it.
"So destiny huh" he said and I looked away.
Destiny.
"It was all Allah's plan. Guess my prayers got answered" he said, looking at me as I stared at his blurry reflection in the steel walls.
"You prayed for me" I said and he chuckled.
"You don't want someone in your life so much until you begin praying for them each day"

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
