Chapter 25: The Trip.
The sound of 'Inferno' filled the bus as everyone eagerly watched what would happen next. The windows were opened and the AC was off as Yazdan drove out of the town of Nadi towards the deserted highways leading to Sigatoka. It was a beautiful travel but the movie was captivating.
Finally when interval hit, they realized they were in the middle of an almost deserted highway, a beach trailing beside them and sun shining down upon the washing waters.
"Guys, I think we should stop for a bit" suggested Aaiyla. Mainly because she felt like she would die any moment of hunger. (Ehaan might have eaten all her snacks)
"Agreed!" the rest yelled.
Amyrah was seated on the couch right beside Kayan who was asleep.
She smiled at him and stood up to go out. Before she could go, a hand pushed her back.
Kulthum grinned at her before whispering something in her ear and rushing away, out of Amyrah's reach.
Amyrah sighed and turned to Kayan who was sleeping very peacefully. She knew he must not have eaten much for breakfast for he was late in the morning and since they did not have lunch yet and it was almost 12 pm. Zuhr would be soon so he would eventually need to wake up.
She called out his name a few times but he did not respond. She poked him with a stick she found on the bus but it did not wake him either. She screamed his name out loud yet he slept soundly.
Amyrah let out a frustrated groan. Shaking her head, she got off the bus and walked towards the beach.
Taking off her shoes and folding up her jeans abit, she ran into the water where Aaiyla, Urwa, Ruha and Kulthum were. Raha was somewhere near the palm trees, avoiding water at all costs. The boys were picking shells and aimlessly talking.
The girls took photos of the water and their own. They were busy playing about to even notice the boys were in the water too. But unlike them, They were fully arms with cups to splash water. And before anyone could react, Ehaan threw water on Aaiyla and a water fight, in the water itself had began.
Fifteen minutes later, they all returned shivering. Kayan leaned on the tree and chuckled seeing them.
"Creating frozen 3, I see" he remarked, rolling his eyes at his siblings.
"Towels there" he then nodded towards the small shed where a heap of towels were placed.
Amyrah took a white one and dried herself up before rubbing her hands together to warm up. The weather became cloudy suddenly and even though the sun was shining, it was cold.
"Guys, I think it will rain soon so we should head up" said Sahl and everyone agreed.
Kayan swapped positions with Yazdan as the driver this time.
"Go sleep"
Sahl's words turned out to be right indeed. It started raining a few meters later, and even though it was just drizzling, it felt like it was a thunder storm.

"Arrgghh" muttered Raha causing everyone to turn to her.
"What is it?" questioned Kulthum.
"I hate rains!" replied Raha and the rest sighed in relief. They thought something had happened!
"Why? I think rain's are beautiful!" said Yazdan, sitting up on the couch.
Raha, at his statement, became flustered and pale.
"Uh you know- ahuh- I mean- I do- Love them but- but it- uh..... it makes me sick, yes it makes me sick!" she reasoned hesitantly and it did not take a genius to know she was covering up to look good for Yazdan. Oh if only she knew where his heart lied.
Kayan drove to the nearest hotel that turned out to be Warwick.
The lads got off and trotted inside, away from the rainy air.
"Its almost Zuhr, I think we should pray" said Kulthum and the girls agreed.
Amyrah walked to the receptionist, who looked up to her and smiled.
"Hello Ma'am. How may I help you?"
"Hello, Miss. We were hoping for two rooms, ensuites preferably that we could stay in until the rain calms down?" she asked the receptionist and the girl nodded back.
"Of course. For how many people?"
"Don't bother about that, Miss. Just two rooms would do" she replied.
"Meals included or no?"
"Included, please make sure that its all halal"
"Of course. All our meals are certified halal because of our diverse customers. Rest assured"
"Alright then, thank you!"
with that, Amyrah took the keys and walked back to the group. Kayan had returned though.
"Guys, go change and then we will have lunch by the pool? say after Zuhr?" asked Ehaan and everyone nodded.
Lunch by the pool was uneventful. Except that Yazdan had to leave in the middle of it because of an important phone call, which left Kayan and Sahl suspicious. Safwah found it interesting to talk about the weather on his snapchat story.
"Its raining yet we are by the pool. Weird huh?" he said, filming the entire thing, including the people. Soon comments began piling in and he got busy in that along with Amyrah.
"I think he looks weird"
"No, his hair is kinda pink"
"You don't insult Jin! Plus it's his old picture!"
"Wallahi, who's talking about jin's here?!?!!" shrieked Karmaan and they all turned to Amyrah and Safwah.
"What?"
"What what?"
"What what what?"
"What what what wha-?"
"GUYS! I think the rain is down, we can head on our way?" said Ehaan and the rest nodded.
Amyrah smirked at Karmaan before whispering JIN to him and sneakily running away.
Kayan saw this and chuckled lowly.
"Bhai, I have a feeling I won't get along with bhabhi that well" he muttered to Kayan who laughed and head butted his brother.
Ehaan took the dibs on driving from there on wards, giving time for Kayan to rest.
But as usual, he would not do so. He was busy thinking.

His phone vibrated indicating a message, and when he opened it, he realized it was the same old.
Deleting the message, he sighed and put his head in his hands.
"Whats wrong?" Amyrah questioned him, taking a seat beside him.
"Nothing"
"Yes and I am next in line to be Queen!" she sassed.
Kayan chuckled lowly.
"Maybe you are"
"Quit it Kayan, whats wrong?"
"I like it when you call me Kayan rather than MR. Kayan" he whispered in his hands but she heard him okay.
The colors of her cheeks shifted to faint pink and her hands felt warm. Thats new.
"Tell me, whats wrong?"
"I told you, its nothing to worry about!" he said, smiling and sitting up straight.
"Are you sure about it? I will tell Yaz about it" Amyrah challenged and he laughed.
"No, thats okay"
With that he put his head on the pillow at the other end of the couch, away from Amyrah and closed his eyes.
Amyrah let out a sigh before standing up and slowly and cautiously walking towards the front of the bus where everyone was playing around.
"Okay guys, so heres the rules!" Said Safwah and everyone set up straight.
"Rule 1: You can only comment on Hindi movies or drama's, please no Korean, Japanese or Chinese drama's!" he said the latter looking at Aaiyla, Amyrah and Kulthum.
Urwa let out a laugh.
"Okay. And, you have to be very fast in telling the names. You and your team will have maximum of 15 seconds to answer. After that, it will move to the next team. The team to answer for first attempt would be 5, since we have 5 teams, second will be 4 and so forth. Clear? and please no cheating!"
"What does the winner get?"
"Free food. If you win, the others team have to give you a treat"
"I AM IN!" yelled Amyrah and everyone looked at her as if she was crazy.
"What? I love food and if its free, well bingo!" she shrugged and the others shook their head.
"But whats this game called anyway?" asked Raha and now it was everyone's turn to stare at her as if she were crazy.
"Dumb Charades!" they yelled and she flinched.
"jeez"
"Okay so groups?"
"I am with Amyrah!" said Safwah. "Amyrah" said Sahl.
"Kulthum" said Ruha. "Kulthum" said Yazdan, desperately trying to dodge Raha.
"Farhaan" said Umair. "Farhaan" said Farhaan. "Farhaan" said Urwa and Karmaan together.
"Not fair, I said it first"
"Back off loser!"
"URWA! Thats rude!"
"Okay sorry, please back off loser"
"Arrghh! Fine!"
"So Raha, Karmaan and Aaiyla?" asked Safwah and the rest nodded.
"Lets start!"
Safwah set there staring at his group as if they were crazy.
Oh Allah, why!?!
He rolled his eyes and began again. He held his hands out slowly and leaned back abit.
"Thats an SRK pose!" said Amyrah and Safwah nodded.
He then put his hands over his mouth, indicating he cannot speak. Amyrah stared at him before letting out a frustrated sigh.
"He cannot speak" said Sahl, calculatingly and Safwah nodded.
"Which movie stared SRK and he could not speak?" he asked Amyrah.
Amyrah thought for a moment before yelling out 'Koyla' and Safwah grinned.
"This thing in Hindi is very hard! I mean so many gestures can be for one movie!" muttered Aaiyla and everyone agreed.
"How about we change the game alittle?"
"How?"
"The person, instead of doing dumb charades, says something related to the movie. But only one thing" suggested Urwa.
"Whats the point of it being called dumb charades?"
"Then its called something else!"
"Well the group members can cheat and give the easiest clue!"
"How about a member from the other group does it. Like one, two, three, four, five. For group one, a member from group 2 does it and so forth" suggested Amyrah and everyone grinned, already making evveeiill plans in their heads.
"Okay so we start" said Amyrah, smirking at Kulthum.
"Cool"
Amyrah messages Safwah something who looked up to her and grinned. She gave him a thumbs up and set back on her couch.
Kayan saw her doing this and smiled to himself.
Who knew the always-uptight-Miss.-Amyrah could so so cheeky?
Safwah stood up and cleared his throat.
"Okay ladies and gentlemen,-"
"Safwah, cut the intro, get to the point" said Yazdan, desperate to get this game over with.
"Argh fine! Okay: "Hoh sutty sutty tera pyar chahida, haan sutty sutty tera pyar cahida!'" Safwah did a little dance causing Kayan to laugh.
"Which movie huh?"
"Is that even from a movie?" questioned Kulthum.
"I don't know"
"Yes it is! Is it?" Safwah asked Amyrah who nodded.
"Ummm"
"Delhi Belly"
Everyone turned to Kayan and Amyrah growled.
"Its unfair! You can't help!!!"
And then a chaos broke out as they quarreled about whats fair and whats not. Kayan smirked at his instigation. He loved it when this happened.
Next stop was past the Sigatoka town towards Lami.
"Guys look!" Amyrah pointed to the people playing volleyball.
They were passing a village, with green trees and vegetation.
"I wanna play now!" she said and Kayan sighed, walking to Yazdan.
They stopped at the village and took a walk around, seeing how the people lived, outside of their virtual world. And this world was much happier than that one. The kids were playing a game of rugby with a bottle, surprising but true, and the old ladies were weaving mats by the play area. The men set there taking, in their native language with a little bit of english here and there. The youths played volleyball, yelling and shouting, some in happiness while others in frustration.
"Come on!" Amyrah walked over to the ladies weaving and took a photo.
"Good Evening ma'dam! May we have a look around?" she asked and the ladies grinned at her before nodding. The youths ceased playing along with the kids to look at the visitors.
"Hey guys!!!" Amyrah waved at them and they stared at her before waving back happily.
"May I join in?" she asked them.
"Us or the kids?" questioned one of the girls, who's hair was up in a bun.
"Volleyball!!" grinned Amyrah and they nodded.
"Come on!" Amyrah pulled her siblings with her and soon they were in the middle of a heated match, people yelling and laughing with each other.
It was a perfect view of multiculturalism. Different races, different cultures in harmony.
Thats Fiji.
