《Little Lockwood》1.12 Happy Death Day

Vicky had run off in through the woods while Damon followed Stefan and Linkin back to the latter's car.
"Adorable." Damon mocked looking over the old cracked paint and out dated interior.
"I don't see your car anywhere Damon." Link snarked.
"I don't need one." The vampire replied.
"Guys." Stefan said, over the constant bickering.
Link just walked to the trunk of his car where the remains of his tracking spell was.
Damon wisteled. "I haven't seen anything like this in a while. You must be good at your little witch magic." Damon snarked.
"It's warlock. An we wouldn't even be in this mess if you didn't kill Vicky." Linkin grumbled. He then held out a hand to Damon.
The vampire looked at it with slight disgust. "Yair, I don't swing that way twinky." Damon remarked.
Linkin just grabbed his hand and drained his body's magic, not bothering to do it painlessly like with Stefan before. Damon whole body was tensing in pain and Link smiled deviously letting him go.
Damon went to rush the boy but Stefan blocked his path. "I may have just saved your life but I can still kill you." He growld to his younger brother.
"You won't." Stefan told him.
Damon just scoffed. He looked behind his brother seeing Linkin start chanting as the sand moved across the map. He was starting to come up with theory about the kid now realising he isn't the every day run of the mill witch boy.
"She's at the school." Linkin said before picking up the map and rolling it up and pouring the sand back into its jar an grabbingthe hair brush. He popped the truck and threw in the contents before getting in the driver's seat.
"I'll see you two kiddos there." Damon said overly sweetly before zooming off.
"I'm going after him." Stefan said.
Before Linkin had the chance to argue the younger slavatore had zoomed off as well. "I'm so done with this crap." Linkin said starting the car and taking off on the dirt road an back into the road.
He had gotten a call from Stefan half way there that they got Vicky and she may or may not have tried to eat his brother. Linkin then did a one eighty, heading for the boarding house.
Linkin walked through the front door of the salvatore house and into the foyer. Damon was downstairs and Stefan was nowhere in sight. "Where is she?" He asked.
"Getting a room." Damon said staring at him.
"What now?" Linkin groaned rolling his eyes.
Damon's eyes went dark and popped his fangs jumping at Linkin across the room.
"Imoba lunair* Linkin chanted with a wave of his hand. Damon froze mid air, completely still.
Stefan hearing a ruckas zoomed to the bottom of the stairs. He looked up at his brother who was suspended in the air. "What happend?" He asked Link who was smiling.
"Nothing now." He said.
Stefan looked from the boy to his brother then back.
"Oh don't worry. It'll only last till the moon sets. He can still hear us, but he won't be going anywhere until around." Linkin checked his phone. "Eight thirty." He told Stefan.
"Okay." Stefan replied. Not actually sure how to respond.
"What's she doing?" Linkin asked.
"She's sleeping for now." Stefan sighed. He knew he was goanna be in for a long night.
"Well then I'll come back tomorrow. I might be able to gather a few things to help her." Link said.

"Alright then." Stefan said.
Link nodded his goodbye an left to his car to head home for some much needed rest.
...
"Caroline? What's up?" Linkin asked into his phone confused.
"I need your help. Get to the school, it's Bonnie!" She yelled into the phone before abruptly hanging up.
"What?!" He yelled shocked. He looked at his phone seeing Caroline had hung up before quickly running around his room to get dressed. In a spurt of speed he ran all through the lockwood mansion to the garage and opened it before diving into his car.
...
He had gotten to the school with most likely a few speeding fines. He saw all the cars in the parking lot but ignored them racing into the school. "Where's Caroline?." He asked urgently to the first person he saw and they pointed to the gym. Not thinking, he bolted to the room and barged through the gym doors.
Hearing the loud noise, everyone stopped to turn and look at him stopping making posters, jackle lanterns and hanging decorations.
Caroline and Bonnie where by the posters group checking it all out when they looked to the door and saw Link. Caroline had a victory smile on her face.
"What did you do to get him here?" Bonnie asked the blond.
"I may or may not have told him you were in trouble." She said coyly.
"Caroline Forbes!" Bonnie scolded.
"What. It worked didn't it. Maybe he likes you." Caroline chimed.
"Grose. That would be like with hooking up with my brother." Bonnie said looking disgusted.
Linkin hurridly walked up to the two girls after spotting them. "Are you okay? What's happened? Did you-"
"Link I'm okay. Really." Bonnie assured him.
"But?" Linkin stopped and tunred his gaze to Caroline.
"Oops." She said with a cheeky smile.
"Did you seriously lie to get me to school. All be it an hour early." Linkin sighed.
"Mabey." She said with a giggle.
Linkin gave her a half glair.
"Fine." The blonde girl groaned. "Bonnie's been a real bummer to be around and when I asked her why she said you were avoiding her. So to cheer her up I told you it was an emergency." Caroline told him an grabbed a paint brush. "Now you two short out whatever is going on between you by the time school starts or so help me god."
"Alright, alright." Linkin cut in shutting Caroline up who wore an evil smile. He took the paint brush out of her hands and moved to a poster board.
Caroline nudged Bonnie after him before she grabbed her check board for the halloween school party an strutted around the room to the pumpkin station.
They Bennett and Lockwood sat there in awkward silence for the first ten minutes and Linkin could feel the constant side glances from Caroline. She though she was behing subtle in her corner eye looks but he knew.
"Okay. Why have you been avoiding me." Bonnie said outright, over the silence. "Grams won't tell me and I'm worried." She told him.
"Bonnie I-"
The sound of the gym doors opened and Tyler walked in scoping out the room. He found his brother and walked up to his table.
"We need to talk" He said abruptly grabbing his brother by the wrist and dragging him out if the gymnasium. Tyler lead them around a corner and shoved his brother into the lockers making Links glasses fall to the ground. "I didn't pass my maths quiz." Tyler snarled in his brothers face.
"What?!" Linkin half shouted afraid.
"Your meant to be tutoring me." He growld. "I'm going to get kicked off the team."
We've only been at it for a week. If you actually-"
Tyler shoved him back into the wall of lockers. "This isn't my fault. It's yours." He spat. He raised his foot and slammed it down on his brothers glasses. "Good luck studying without your glasses." He growld letting go and storming off.
Linkin got to the floor feeling around for his glasses. He only received broken fragments of glass in his hand. It hurt and he could see the blurry red of the blood coming out of his hand. "I can never win can I." Linkin sighed.
"What the hell happened?" Bonnie asked coming around the coner. She went looking for him a little worried only to fund she was right to be so as she kneeled down next him.
She saw his glasses crushed on the floor and a large chunk of his lens in his hand. "Here." She said pulling out a pair of his old glasses and putting them on his face.
Linkin felt relived he could see again. "Where did you find those?" He asked Bonnie.
"There the ones you lost at Grams house like two months ago. The next time I saw you, you had a new set so I've been keeping them just incase." She told him.
He just looked to the girl gobsmacked.
"Now lets get you to the nurse's office." She said, gently helping him up and guiding them to the sick bay.
...
Bonnie had stuck with him after he got his hand patched up. As much a he tried to get away from her, she stuck to him like glue. Eventually they caught up with Caroline who had two bags of shopping in her hand.
"Good. You two are back to friends." She cheered. The blond then pushed a bag into each of their chests.
"Really." Bonnie said unimpressed pulling out a witch costume.
Linkin pulled the contents of his bag out to see he had a wizard outfit. He just sighed.
"What." Caroline groaned. "You two can match for tonight." She said smiling.
"And what are you going as?" Linkin asked.
"Myself." She answered like it was obvious.
"Of cource." Bonnie snorted.
"So your both coming?" Caroline asked.
Bonnie pulled out a pendant necklace with a large amber crystal. "What is this thing?" She asked.
Linkin could literally feel magic radiating off of it.
"It's some piece of junk Damon had so I stole it." Caroline told them.
"Then you should probably give it back." Linkin said. If this was Damon and it's filled with magic. Who ever had it wasn't safe.
"Screw Damon. That why I gave it to Bonnie. She can keep it, plus it also goes with the outfit." She said all smiles.
"Ah sure." Bonnie said unconvinced.
Linkin needed a way to get it away from her.
...
"Linkin!" Bonnie called after the boy who had been avoiding her again after Caroline's forced interaction. She was getting really fed up and wanted to know why he just up and stopped talking to her and Grams.
Linkin tried to blend into the cesspool of other kids but Bonnie was right on his tail.
But right as Bonnie was about to reach him Linkin seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye. Bonnie was standing in the hall majourly confused and very anoyed.
Linkin had whiplash when his body stopped moving. He was in an empty class room and his least favourite Salvatore brother standing infront of him. "Did you have to just up and run me right out of the halls Damon." Link groaned rubbing his sore neck.
"You looked like you needed help escaping the Bennett." The vampire chimed.
"What do you want Damon?" Linkin asked not in the mood.
"Well since you asked. I want you to get that necklace off you little friend and five it to me." Damon told him.
"What do you want with that old junk?" Link asked playing dumb. He knew there was a lot of magic in it.
"Oh, nothing at the moment." Damon said coyly.
"Then no." Linkin said simply. He went to open the classroom door but Damon sped infront of him an shut it.
"I wasn't asking." Damon said darkly, getting in Linkins face.
Linkin went to grab Damon by the throat but the vampire caught his wrist and squeezed hard. "Let go." Linkin said in a pained voice.
"Nope." Damon growld squeezing harder.
Link shot his other arm out to try an touch him but Damon just caught it and slammed him up against the wall. "Let me go Damon." He hissed.
"You, I've figured out your little trick. In order for you to actually do any magic, you need to take it from an outside source. Ergo, you don't have your own power." Damon wisperd menacingly as he leaned into Linkins face making the boy squirm back into the wall. "No do what I tell you an maybe I won't kill your little friend's." He said lowly.
Then in a blink of an eye Linkin dropped to the floor and Damon was gone. He was sitting on the floor trying to catch his breath. "I hate this town." Linkin sighed.
...
Linkin ended up just going home. He didn't want to go to the Halloween party at the school and his dad and Carol were out for the night.
"Let's try and learn another spell. Maybe there's something in here about magical objects." Linkin said to himself as he turned through the pages of the spell book Grams gave him. "Herbs, werewolf venom. Gem stones?" He wondered aloud. The page was in archaic latin and he could thankfully read it. "Some if not most gem stones can have the ability to hold magical energy or amplify a witches power. It was a common practice for witches to use these stones in jewelry." Linkins eyes widened. "Bonnie's necklace. It's a talisman!" He realised.
His phone started ringing and he saw it was Stefan. "Hello." Linkin said.
"Vicky ran off from the house and we think she's going to the Halloween party." Stefan said hurridly.
"I'll meet you at the school." Was all Link said before he hung up, got his keys and ran to the garage.
...
It took him longer than he'd like to get to school, even with the speeding. He moved through the crowds of students out the front and went in to an even bigger swarm of teenagers. Decorations where up everywhere and the lights where out an replaced with black light bulbs.
Kids where in darker corners making out while other danced around eachother to the music on the school speakers. He was about to start scouring the school to find Stefan when two people in black robes wearing ghost face masks grabbed him. Linkin kicked out and tried to shake himself free but the two who grabbed him had him in a tight hold as they dragged him through the halls. He tried yelling for help from everyone in hall but they all just watched laughing thinking it was apart of the party.
He was taken to the back of the school near the buses and he was thrown to the ground. When he tried to get up someone kicked him in the side making him roll onto his back with a pained yelp.
"This is what you get faggot." A voice said. Linkin knew who it was. As he opened his eyes he could see a whole group of six poeple in the same costumes that the two who grabbed him where wearing.
The one who spoke started kicking him and the others followed after and Linkin tried to curl up into himself and covered his head.
It went on for what seemed like an eternity, kick after kick from every one of them as they called him offensive slurs while some just laughed.
The sound of the door Link had been dragged through opening caused the group to stop and run so they didn't get caught.
Linkin laid there on the floor still curled up in unbelievable pain. His skin was red and already starting to bruise, he knew he definitely had a broken rib or two. One of them had tried to kicking him in the face and managed to get him in the eye which was throbbing.
"Vicky no!" He suddenly heard Elena yell out.
With all the effort he could muster Linkin managed to push himself onto his knees hissing and in pain that made his eyes water.
"Elena, Jeremy run!" He heard Stefan yell next.
"Vicky." Linkin realised. He couldn't let her hurt his friends. He wouldn't.
With a newfound determination, he hastily got to his feet and shakily stumbled over to the buses, using one of the yellow vehicles to lean on as he stumbled toward the sound of struggeling. As he appeared infront of the group he saw Vicky feeding off Elena infront of him.
He reached out and grabbed onto the the Donovan girl's shoulder and his hand glower orange causing the vampire immense pain as she pet go of Elena who watched shocked.
Vicky was quick to grab his hand and use her speed to pin Link to the front of a bus.
"Damon told me about your little trick." Vicky growled before reeling her head back and bitting down into his neck.
Stefan had come around the side of a bus pulling out a piece of wood from his leg but It was broken and still healing. "Vicky stop!" He yelled trying to get her attention but it didn't work.
Linkins eyes shot to the wood in Stefans leg and he raised a trembeling hand. "Motus" He chanted as the plank of split wood flew from Stefans leg and straight through Vicky's heart making her pull back.
"Vicky!" Jeremy screamed from the ground next to a pile of wooden pallets, his eyes wide with tears.
Vicky's body started to go grey as she stepped back looking from her chest with the word protruding from it and back to Link before she fell to the floor, veins black and bulging on her ashen skin.
Stefan's leg finally healed and he sped straight to Linkin. He saw the bumps and bruises on his skin as well as the black eye starting to form. "What happend?" He asked immediately realising that something happened.
Linkin was so spaced out he didn't even realise Stefan was infront of him or that he was crying. His eyes where on Vicky's corpse and unmoving. "I killed her." He murmured.
"It's not you fault." Stefan told him.
Jeremy had walked over to Vicky's body and leaned over her. "I... I don't understand." He sobbed.
Linkin's heart was crushed. He knew Jeremy would never forgive him for what he just did.
"Stefan. Take Jeremy home." Elena said. "Please." She said almost pleadingly.
The Salvatore looked to her then to her brother on the ground and nodded. "Will you be okay?" He asked Link but he didn't get a response. All Linkin could do was stare at Vicky.
"We'll be fine. I'll take him home." Elena answered for them. "I'll take him home." She said.
Stefan nodded and then gently ushered Jeremy to stand before speeding them to the Gilbert house.
"Well this is a train wreck." Damon said suddenly appering.
Elena in a rage seeing him stomped straight up to him and slapped him across the face. "This is your fault." She said to him with a hard set glair.
The vampire gazed darkly at her. "You need to go. Now." He growld.
Elena huffed at him before she got Link and started walking them to her car. They had made it to the parking lot when Matt saw them.
"Elena, have you seen Vicky?" He asked.
"No, I.. I haven't." She said.
Matt then saw Link and noticed the blood on him and Elena as well as Links bruises. "Wgat happened? Are you guys okay?" He asked slightly worried.
"Oh, where fine. Just some guy with fake blood and Link stopped at a make up station." She lied quickly.
Linkin couldn't look Matt in the eyes. He knew if he did he wouldn't be able to hold it in.
"Okay." Matt said believing her. "Well if you guys see her can you let me know please."
"We will." Elena told him.
"Thanks." Matt said walking off to keep looking for his sister.
Elena wrapped her arm around Links and leaded the way making it to her car.
Linkin was in his head for the drive. What he did playing through his brain on a constant loop. The worst part for him was hearing Jeremy scream Vicky's name.
"How did you do that?" Elena asked him.
"What?" He mumbled.
"How did you make the wood move?" She asked. It had been bugging her since she watched him mutter a word and the broken piece went flying into Vicky's chest and killed her. "An why did your hand glow orange." She added.
He didn't answer, keeping his eyes on the dash board.
Elena sighed. "I need to stop at my house before I take you home. I have to check on Jeremy." She said.
"No! You can't take me there." He said wide eyed, finally speaking.
"Where already here." Elena told him.
He looked out the what he realised a now motionless car to see the Gilbert house and his heart immediately started going a mile a minute. "Elena please." He pleeded.
"I'm sorry. I have to check on Jeremy." She said getting out the car.
Linkin just stayed in the car and pushed himself into passenger seat. He would've stayed there if he didn't see Damon zoom onto Elena's porch.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

An Extra-Ordinary Story about Ordinary People
In a different world, a different reality, where ordinary people occasionaly have extra-ordinary powers for no particular reason, we follow a number of characters, trying their best to live in this strange yet normal world. We have our first character, a currently nameless but sentinent creature who happened to find himself in the body of a strange fungus after an unknown incident that robbed him of not only his former body but of his memory, as well. Secondly, we follow Smith, a high-standing man who doesn't even need to explain which Smith he is, on top of the world, yet human enough to meet said fungus. And thirdly, we have another nameless character, who is burdened by the ability to summon things that he doesn't want. A charming gang, who will (most likely) meet at some point. --- All and all, it's a twist on the common super-hero world, where all super-heroes have somehow dissappeared, but not the possibility for new ones. The series that feature the mushroom-dude are the 123 ones, the stories that feature Smith are the ABC ones, and the ones that feature our newest character, the summoner-dude, are the abc ones. Neat, huh? Also, just a word of warning? The 123 ones are kind wierd, and you can skip the first few chapters and go straight to the ABC ones without missing too much. But I'd rather you didn't, since i really enjoyed writing them. In ABC and abc, the format changes to a more typical form, with proper grammar and stuff. So if you dont like the 123, I'd love it if you gave the ABC a chance :^) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!
