《✨【DETOUR SEVEN】✨ // JJBA Villains》14) Does What, Now?

"Oh, thank god." Kira gasps in relief, "Finally, I can live a normal, quiet life... Maybe."
"Mmm... yeah, sure..."
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
The day of the move finally arrived. It was a nice, sunny morning, the birds chirping in the air in the nice, vibrant blue sky.
Some were secretly or openly excited about it, finally moving into a place that they could call home. Some were also quite neutral about it, not caring much.
The house, which was prepared for them a week before the move, is a large, simple, modern one. The kind of houses that made you feel warm. A house that looked inviting, as if it's beckoning people to come inside and have a nice, warm bowl of soup on a chilling winter night. It's honestly nothing luxurious or impressive. But, it sure does make you feel at home.
A white minibus makes an abrupt halt in front of the house.
The door slides open, letting out a buzz as each of the passengers carefully steps out. The soles of their shoes softly clicking and clacking onto the stone below them. "So, this is the place that every one of you will be staying in." A woman states, also stepping out of the vehicle's front seat, "If you didn't know already, my name is Soia, and I'll be your guide and assistant." she says, adjusting her oddly bulky, black handbag.
"So, Soia." DIO frowns, impatiently tapping a foot on the ground, "Can we just get to the point already?! It's scorching hot in here, and I, DIO, can't take it any longer." he growled, his voice muffled under all the protective wear that he is currently wearing, head to toe.
"Yes, I think we should. Lord DIO should not be in the sunlight." Pucci nods, lifting an umbrella over DIO's already protected head.
"Hah, thank goodness I've already gotten rid of that weakness long ago." Kars beams with a proud smirk, rubbing his chin in delight. Sure, he may think he looks imposing, but not with that out-of-season, bare-fit, Christmas sweater he's wearing. Fuck, it's in the middle of summer. Yet, he's wearing all they had that fitted his size, that gigantic Christmas sweater, and sweatpants.
How he managed to fit those on? Nobody else but him knows.
Walking along the flagstone pathway, leading them to the front of the house, meeting shade. "Ugh, looks even uglier up close." Dio gagged, rolling his eyes behind the anti-UV goggles, " I could find a place better than this by myself if I wanted to."

Soia takes a deep breath, then exhales. "Okay then, go! Find somewhere else to live!"
Quickly, DIO's bratty manner changed in an instant. He grunts, "But I guess I have no other choice but to stay here..." murmuring under his breath, embarrassed.
"I'm liking this place already!" Doppio exclaimed, "Can we get in? I can't wait!"
The dark-haired woman lets out a warm smile, "Sure." she says, opening the door as the rest walked in.
The first thing that greeted them was the warm lighting, making it feel like home even though they had just stepped into this place. The second thing was the cool rush of air from the air conditioners installed nearby.
The living room, right by the door, had a comfy couch and a widescreen tv with a beige rug underneath. It was also not too far away from the kitchen, which had white walls, wooden birch cabinets, and everything a normal kitchen had, with the fridge stocked with fresh produce, and the cabinets stashed with instant noodles and other goods, ready to be used at any time.
This had already impressed Yoshikage Kira, who was quite fond of cooking. "This is quite nice. I am rather impressed," he says as he raised a brow, "This kitchen is perfect. Also very clean." gliding a finger down the wall, then rubbing it against his thumb.
"There is one bathroom upstairs and one downstairs. Also, the bedrooms are on the second floor." Soia says in a monotonous voice, "Feel free to ask me for assistance if you have any problems with any of the tech."
"Ah, I almost forgot!" She gasps in realization as she digs out a plastic bag of phones. She carefully places the bag on a table, curious eyes glancing at the bag, wondering what's inside.
"Wots dat?" Diego asks inquisitively, tilting his head at an angle, sniffing the bag.
"You see," she begins, picking up one of the devices, "You guys will need a way to communicate with me and each other. So, I've provided you with these phones." handing one of them to a confused Diego, who promptly tries to nibble on it. He lightly grazes his tongue on the metal frame, then jerks his head back. "Hm, weird. So, how does this communication thing work, eh?" he slouches onto a chair as he held the small, rectangular thing in his hands. The phone was all screen, no home button. The only visible buttons are the ones on the side.

"Well, you-"
"WHAT THE FUCK-" He screamed.
The sudden flash shocked him, causing him to drop the phone. But luckily, he caught it before it hit the ground.
He sighed in relief.
"What was that?" Diego turns to Soia, who swiftly snatches it away. "It automatically turns on by itself. But, you seemed to have triggered it by clicking on this button right over here." Soia clicks the slim, small button on the side of the device.
It lights up, presenting its bright lock screen.
//[ 10:44 AM ]//
The screen blinks, showing the current time of day.
Kira immediately recognizes the device after taking a closer look at it. "Oi, I've seen this before... about a week and a few days ago when we first arrived at this world. Some kid did something with this phone. I don't know what it was but it flashed a bright light."
"You mean this?"
Soia opens up the camera app on the phone and lifts it in front of him. She taps on a button on the display, which caused a flash.
Kira jerks back, shifting an arm in front of his line sight to block the painfully bright glare, "Stop." he groans in annoyance, "My eyes are quite sensitive to this light." he pushes Soia's arm away, "So, I would most definitely it if you could just- ."
Out of the blue, Funny Valentine appears by her side, slightly frightening the poor woman.
"Excuse me, Miss Soia...?" Valentine asks, holding a phone in his gloved hands," I still don't get it." He sighs as he inched closer, showing her the screen. "I managed to figure out how this incredible device works. However..."
Ho-ly shit. First of all, why is it all in Japanese? Second of all, why is the phone's font just- . Lastly, Valentine, how the fuck did you mess up so badly in the first few seconds of using a phone.
Soia's originally cheery face turned into one of disappointment.
She lets out a tired, shaky sigh.
She curses under her breath before taking the phone into her hands. "Alright, everyone. C'mere, I have a lot of things to show you guys."
"So, I just have to do this?!" Doppio gasps, tapping whatever is on his screen.
"Mhm."
"OHHH, OKAY!" He exclaims with astonished eyes looking at the pocket-sized gadget in his hands.
"Pucci~" DIO calls out to him, "How do you do that again?~" faking his joyous tone, tapping the screen in slight defeat, trying his best not to obviously show it.
Enrico quickly dashes to his side, ready to serve his lord. "Ah, you see, you do this..."
He explains the entire process to DIO once again, swiping here and there on the rather small display.
"Thank you, Pucci. Now you can go." He smirks, patting Enrico on the shoulder.
In the other corner of the room, Diego messes with Valentine by photobombing his 'photos', enjoying himself.
Reason? It's funny.
Maybe a little amusing.
In another corner, Kars is seen surfing the net, getting frustrated at these things people call 'jokes'
He reads a sentence out loud, "Deez Nuts?" scratching his head in confusion, "Who is this 'Deez' and why do they have 'Nuts'? Answer me no, you foo-"
"OKAY-" Soia sighs, "Has everyone gotten the hang of everything now? There also should be a messaging app in there so you can send each other messages."
"Yes, I am sure everyone has gotten the hang of it." Pucci gives Soia an assuring pat on the back, "You can go now."
"Are you sur-"
"Yes, now please leave! :)"
"I-" She stutters, "O-Okay...?"
Pucci politely guides her outside the front door, "Now shoo, go have your break or something."
"Are you completely-"
"Yes. Bye." he shut the door before she could say anything else.
Soia chuckles to herself, "Wow, okay...rude." walking down the steps, strolling down the road to a grey car already waiting to escort her back. She opens the car door with a click, stepping into the vehicle.
She takes another glance at the house. A warm smile crept up her face.
"Good luck, you guys."
Closing the car door shut, it drove away, not leaving a single trace but a puff of smoke.
Today is the day where they live a new life. A life where they leave their old ways behind, forgetting about the past and moving on. Moving on to a happier day. But, will the bizarre adventures fade away?
...Well, nobody knows... .
This is what ya'll have been waiting for... FINALLY, AFTER 13 CHAPTERS. IT'S HERE.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
