"What did you say?"
"I said did you see any signs of Joker"
"No"
"Come back to the cave"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Do you still feel guilty for what happened?" Chloe asked.
"Maybe" Marinette mumbled.
"You shouldn't, hanging onto the feeling will only make you feel worse for what happened," Kagami said. She was right. It was useless to feel guilty. It wasn't her fault. Marinette didn't know what would happen after so long and she had no way of knowing it would happen. Before Marinette could respond the others had arrived.
"Now that you are here we will split up, if you found Joker use this to put the tracker on him. All you need to do is load it and aim for his back. Once the track is one him it will entwine itself into the fabric on his clothes."
With the six of them they were able to find Joker and the tracker was put on him. It was now around four in the morning. Thankfully there wasn't any crime spotted on the way back home. Tired from the night they all head to bed.
"Are you saying there is a possibility that there are other heroes in Gotham?"
"Yes father"
"What did they look like?"
"One was blond and the other two had black hair, the blond one was wearing a black and yellow costume and the last two were wearing black and red"
"If any of you spot them while on patrol I want you to tell everyone else immediately"
While laying in bed Damien thought about the dinner. It had gone well and they were able to get more information about the people visiting. To him it seemed like they were hiding something. When talking about the bakery they all seemed to be more affected than what they let on. One of them had to have a close relationship with the owners.
The day had gone slower than yesterday. It started off with breakfast as usual. Everyone split to do their own thing. Then around lunch the girls decided to train a little. They worked on flexibility, agility, and relying on other senses. Luka told them lunch was ready. After lunch Luka said he had a new song he wanted to show. Everyone worked on the song. They had recorded some of it and made adjustments. They did this for a few hours before deciding to watch a movie. The movie was Encanto. It had made most of them cry and made the song stuck in their head. Then they split up to do their own thing.
While working on some commissions Marinette got a call. It was the couple from last night. They asked her questions and got to know her. Since they liked her they decided Marinette would be the best babysitter for their son. Once they hung up Marinette continued to work on commissions. She was able to finish a couple. One was for someone in New York. They have asked for an outfit that would make a good first impression for a job interview. All the person asked was for something comfortable but professional and their colors had to be black and blue. Other than that Marinette had complete control over the outfit. Another one was from California. They had asked for a dress for their girlfriend. The person explained he was going to propose to her and wanted to get her something from her favorite fashion designer. Marinette gave him a discount.
Suddenly there was a notification on her phone. It was about a bank robbery. The Joker and Scarecrow had teamed up. There was an unknown number of hostages and the police were unable to get in. She quickly went to the base and got out the miracle box. Soon everyone was gathered.
"Everyone will be needed in this." Marinette said already had a plan in mind. "Max will create a portal for us, then Luka, Nino, Kagami and Max will help the hostages get out while me, Chloe, Alix, and Kim will deal with Joker and Scarecrow. Jagged and Penney will stay here and update us on the way there."
While everyone else transformed, Marinette took out the mouse and cat miraculous. She combined transformed with the mouse one fist then split into two. One combined with the ladybug miraculous and the other with the cat.
"When the bats come to the scene just ignore them and concentrate on your job"
While at a coffee shop with Dick, Damien was forced to go, an explosion went off down the street. Naturally everyone in the area went outside or looked outside a window. What they saw was smoke coming from the bank and some people running out of said bank. Within seconds many people began to call for help or try to get to a safe distance away from the bank. Damien and Dick went to a secluded area to change and inform the rest of the situation. By the time they had got to the front of the bank police officers and medics were already at the scene.
"How many people are still inside?" Nightwing asked.
"The amount of people inside is unknown and the people who escaped have told us that the Joker and Scarecrow are inside."
'Get inside and distract them. The rest of us will help once we arrive.'
Now a reporter was on scene and on live television and some people had their phones out recording.
"There are people on the roof!" someone yelled pointing to the roof next to the bank.
There were indeed people on the roof. They all were wearing costumes that kinda looked like different animals and they had weapons, or a musical instrument. These strange people were now gone after a portal had appeared.
"We'll deal with them later, right now we need to get inside."
Nightwing and robin crashed through the window and noticed that the strange people from the roof were inside the bank helping hostages, fighting henchmen, Joker or Scarecrow.
When the Miraculous team had gotten inside the bank there were about thirty people tied up. The Joker and Scarecrow were standing near each other while their henchmen were guarding the hostages or stealing money. When the villains and hostages had noticed them they were quite surprised. They weren't a group of people who looked like they were teens and dressed like animals. Using this shock the people had started helping the hostages or fighting. Then Nightwing and Robin crashed through the window. After a few seconds they began to help.
"Behind you!"
The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
The Solstice Wars
In the grey-cloaked cityscape of modern London, student William Whiteswift has two secrets: the Fae walk among humanity, and they are just as vulnerable as us. His childhood was filled with them; they spawned nightmares and episodes, dreams and obsessions. The nightmares remain, of course, but the fae are his normal. Now, he heals them, for William is gifted. When he saves a faerie -- a humanoid fae -- from an injury he can’t explain, William is forced to let her stay. Finally, he may have taken on more than he can handle; Ainsel could uproot his life in seconds. Instead, she cracks a Pandora’s box of mysteries: someone just flipped her home on its head. And because of that, she did something unspeakable. And somehow, she doesn’t want to hurt him. The longer she stays, though, the crueler his nightmares grow. Worse, governments hide secrets, too: they know of faeries. To them, all fae are monsters fueled by solstices and equinoxes. As the autumn equinox approaches, the culling agency COURT hurries to track Ainsel down. With teams across the United Kingdom and Ireland -- iron-strong despite the region’s history -- they are nearing success. A world away, their country wounded, the faerie leaders hunger for justice. In the looming shadows of war and of Ainsel’s mistake, can a human and a faerie protect each other against their own kind? Could their plight mend rifts between bitter nations and bitterer people? Or will it, like past attempts at peace, shatter? Quick note! I hope you all enjoy the Irish (Irish Gaelic) words here and there! All are defined or explained within the text. This is my chance to show off speaking it at least somewhat decently. Still learning. ;D -K
