《Crossroads (Lesbian Stories)(gxg)》Chapter 4: One Hell of a Girl

Christy's POV
I was completely starving after the game as I usually am. I was grateful Kayla was taking me out for burgers although I have been noticing her increasingly odd behavior.
Right now, we were sitting in Kayla's car in comfortable silence while music played in the background. We pulled up to the diner and I walked out. Before we entered the the diner Kayla stopped to take a good look at me and giggled.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"You are like the definition of what 'ball is life' is right now," Kayla said with a slight giggle.
I looked down and she was right. I was wearing my warm up jacket over my jersey which was untucked so the jersey was a little bit longer than my jacket. On the back of the jacket it read 'Lady Rebels Basketball'. I was still wearing my basketball shorts and I had black and blue elites on and my Nike slides.
I chuckled at her statement. "Sorry do you want me to change or put on sweats or something?" I asked a bit annoyed.
"No! No! It looks quite cute on you actually." Kayla said with a blush.
"Oh. Well thanks." I said softly. I felt my cheeks reddening and I looked down, not wanting Kayla to see my reddening face.
"Come on, let's eat!" Kayla said while grabbing my arm and pulling me toward the diner. Our hands intertwined and we ended up holding hands as we entered the diner. Kayla of course, found the need to open the door for me again.
We got in and got seated. Right away, a waiter came and handed up some menus.
I took a good look at the menu and was amazed at all the burgers this place offered.
"Can I start you two off with a few drinks?"
"I'll have a iced tea." Kayla said.
The waiter nodded and turned toward me. "And how about for the cutie right here?"
I shifted in my seat uncomfortably at his attempt to flirt. "Uh I'll just have a lemonade." I said without looking up from my menu.
He left to go get our drinks and I looked up and saw Kayla was basically red from anger.
"How dare he try to flirt with you like that?! Oh that is so fuckin disrespectful I could just-"
"Kayla don't worry about it. I'm sure it was only a one time thing."

Kayla calmed down a bit and nodded as she looked through the menu.
The waiter came back with our drinks and asked us what we wanted to order.
"I'll have a Philly Cheese steak." Kayla said while putting her menu down.
"And I'll have a bacon cheeseburger."
"Be back with your orders soon." He said as he gave me a wink.
Kayla was really mad. She was turning red and she had her arms crossed.
"I can't believe he's being so disrespectful and flirting with you on the job. And you're way out of his league anyways. What does he think deserving someone like you? Like damn you deserve the world and he isn't even close to what you deserve. Some snotty guy flirting with you on the line." Kayla ranted.
"Kayla it's fine. He's probably not even flirting. Maybe you're overreacting and he's just being friendly." I assured her.
Kayla seemed to calm down a little and she nodded while taking a long sip of her iced tea. I didn't understand why Kayla was so upset by that guy potentially be flirting with me.
We had small talk about the game and Kayla kept complimenting me on how I did. Kayla also teased me about that girl who fell on top of me during the game because she tripped.
It was quite the scene everyone was laughing and hollering and the girl turned quite red. It was okay she was quite cute anyways.
The food arrived and we dug in. I took a huge bite out of my burger, then ate some fries and took a sip of my lemonade all within 15 seconds.
Kayla stared at me in amazement. "Wow you are really hungry aren't you?"
I nodded while swallowing my food. "Yep I was looking forward to eat the whole game." I said while taking another bite.
Kayla reached over and stole some french fries from me.
"Hey!" I said while swatting her hand away. "Get your own!"
Kayla laughed while she stole some more french fries as I sat there defending my french fries with my life.
I soon gave up because whatever she could have as much as she wanted and dug into my big delicious bacon cheeseburger.
"Shouldn't you be watching what you eat Ms. Superstar-athlete? Would you like a salad? A protein shake?"
I rolled my eyes. "I hate salad. And basically all vegetables."
Kayla's eyes widened in surprise. "How could you not like vegetables?! They're so good for you?! It's okay I'll get you to like vegetables soon."

I laughed at her statement. "Cute Kayla cute. But no one is gonna get me to like vegetables. I have my meat and that is enough for me." I said while taking a huge bite of my burger.
We finished our meal and when the bill came, Kayla insisted on paying.
"Why do you want to pay? Why can't we pay what we ordered?"
"Okay let's just say it's an apology for what happened at my house and call it even. Okay?"
"No because I was never upset at what you said now let me pay for the bill!"
In one swift move Kayla put her debit card on the bill and handed it to the nearest waiter and gestured for her to walk off while handing her a 5 dollar bill with her other hand.
My mouth dropped at this action while she smiled victoriously.
Our waiter walked back with the receipt to sign and handed it to Kayla.
He turned forward me with a smirk on his face.
"I see you're a baller so I was wondering if you wanted to have a load of these balls tonight." He said while gesturing toward his crotch area.
Before I could do anything, Kayla jumped up and punched him square in the face causing him to fall backward.
"THAT IS NO WAY TO TALK TO A GIRL. HOW DARE YOU HARASS HER LIKE THAT. YOU'LL BE LUCKY IF YOU AREN'T HEARING FROM MY LAWYER TOMORROW. ROT IN HELL." Kayla yelled while pulling me out of the diner while the other customers cheered and clapped.
Kayla got in her car and I followed, getting in the drivers seat.
I waited for Kayla to cool down for a bit then spoke.
"You didn't have to do all that you know?" I said while resting my hand on top of hers.
It seemed to make Kayla less tense since I felt her hand relax a little.
"I know but he was being a complete asshole and you didn't deserve that. I wasn't just gonna sit there and let you get harassed by some nasty sleezeball."
I giggled at her small rant. "Thank you for standing up to me though." I said then I leaned in and gave Kayla a kiss on the cheek.
I could see Kayla's cheeks turning red and she was trying to hide it by turning away.
"No problem. So shall I drop you off home now?"
I nodded and gave her directions to my house.
She asked me a bit about my family and I told her about Maddie and how she was only a year older than me and her girlfriend Elise and Steph's girlfriend, Katelyn.
"Wait so all 3 of your sisters are gay?" Kayla asked while laughing.
"Yep. Both of them have girlfriends too and I'm the only single one."
"You won't be single for long." Kayla said while giving me a wink.
"In your dreams Owens."
"A girl can dream can't she?"
We arrived at my house and I thanked her for the ride and dinner and got out of the car. I noticed she waited until I got into the house before driving away. Hm maybe Kayla was different than what everyone said she was.
I threw my duffel and backpack into the corner of my room and took a quick shower. I jumped into bed and laid there thinking about tonight.
I thought about how Kayla wanted to pay for dinner so bad and how she gave that waiter who was trying to hook up with me a nasty uppercut. Honestly her getting super angry and punching that waiter in the face for me was kind of cute and hot at the same time.
Then I thought about how Kayla said I wouldn't be single for long. I wasn't really interested in anyone right now. I wonder if Kayla would be a good girlfriend. She was extremely attractive with her blonde hair and amazing green eyes. She had the perfect body from playing soccer. I already know is probably most likely really protective of her girlfriend. She was extremely sweet, caring, nice, and had such a warm personality. She was the complete opposite of what everyone said she was. The only unknown part is if she is a player or not which seems highly unlikely. Yeah she'd make a great girlfriend. She was totally my type too.
I shook my head at that thought. She was too good for me. She'd probably go for some like super model girlfriend or something. Her dad is rumored to be a powerful executive so I'm pretty sure she won't have a problem with that. Then again I wondered if Kayla even had a girlfriend yet.
Well I guess that's information I'll soon find out.
