《RE: VILLAGE》ch 3

It's been three weeks since Baelfire became Lady Dimitrescu's servant. He learned the names of the daughters: Daniela (blonde) Mora (the Brown haired one) and Lilith (black hair).
They are not the kindest people he met. They always have that cruel smile when they look at him. They did not give him new clothes, but a collar. The called him "mutt".
If any of the Mistresses were the least kind to him; it was Alcina Dimitrescu. The one who only had him wake her up, do her hair, get her dress ready, and have her food prepared. She also said thank you, rarely, but she says it. But that doesn't mean she didn't have her twisted form of humor. One morning, she noticed his bandaged hand and asked him if she could see it. She held his hand and rubbed her fingers over it, and proceeded to press down on it. He nearly cried from the pain as she smiled at him.
Baelfire walked through the hallway as he carried a tray of food. He was sleeping peacefully earlier in the closet of a room he was given, till the bell beside his bed rung, with the name Alcina under it. He hurried getting his clothes on and ran too the kitchen and got her breakfast ready on a silver tray. Her breakfast consisted of toast, eggs, bacon, and that weird drink she and her daughters love.
Baelfire walked up a spiral of stairs and walked down the end of the hall, coming to a huge, smooth black door with a golden door handle. He opened the door and walked in, closing it behind him. He turned back around and saw Alcina in her huge bed, covered by a red blanket, reading a book. Her black hair was lose, reaching down her neck. She looked up at him as he walked too her.
"Good morning Baelfire." She greeted him as she closed the book and put it on the nightstand. Baelfire quickly laid the tray across her lap as he backed away with his arms against his side.

"Good morning Mistress." He greeted back as he stayed still. "I'm sorry for not waking up earlier. Mistress Daniela had me stay up late." Alcina raised her eye brow as she began cutting the eggs.
"With what, my dear?"
"Target practice." Alcina hummed as she looked at him. Baelfire looked out the window that overlooked the village and so much more. "Not that I don't mind, Mistress." He told her as she leaned back.
"That sounds like Daniela." She took a sip from her mug. "I'll talk to her about it. Get my dress ready." She ordered. Baelfire nodded as he walked to the big dresser across her bed and opened it, revealing big grey dresses. He pulled one out and laid it across the bed. Alcina got done eating and got off her bed. She wore a black bra and underwear attached to black stockings.
"That is all Baelfire."
"Yes mistress." He bowed and exited the room. He closed the door behind him and proceeded to walk down the hall. He heard a buzzing sound over his shoulder and saw a small insect fly by.
Baelfire was walking down a hall peacefully. 'I wonder how mom is?' He thought to himself. "Ahh!" He grunted holding his left hand. He unwrapped the bandage and saw the bite mark. It hasn't healed at all, only got worse. He could see his veins around the two holes and bruised. He quickly wrapped the bandage up again and continued his walk. He was suddenly engulfed by a swarm of insects and was dragged across the hall. "WHAT THE?!" He screamed as he was dragged. He came to a stop as the swarm got infront of him, circling around one another. Baelfire pushed himself up to see the insects disappear and a woman standing in their place.
"Why hello, Mutt!" Daniela, the oldest of the daughters spoke, grabbing his collar. She lifted him up to meet her face to face. She was a head taller than him. "What are you doing on this, wonderful night?" She smiled menacingly. Baelfire gulped in fear as he looked into her yellow eyes, seeing his reflection.

"N-nothing Mistress Daniela!" He stuttered as his feet dangled from the ground. "Just getting you and the other Mistresses's breakfast ready." Daniela looked him over and stopped as she stared at his neck. She put her left hand on the side of his head and pushed it to the side. "M-mistress?!" He stuttered again.
"Why prepare normal food," she leaned her head down near his neck. Baelfire shivered as her warm breath hit his skin. "When a delicious alternative is present?" She opened her mouth as two pairs of fangs extended, saliva parting away.
"DANIELA!" Daniela dropped Baelfire. He landed on his buttocks and turned around on his knees. Their stood
Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, wearing her wide-brinned hat. "We don't treat are servants like that. Not when they have years of labor ahead of them." She looked down and saw Baelfire bowing his head down on his knees. "Stand up boy." Baelfire scurried to his feet and moved to the side.
"Yes mother." Daniela struggled to say as she lowered her head. She glared at Baelfire, who started to sweat. "I'll go get the others ready." She said, disappearing into a swarm of insects.
"Thank you, Mistress Dimitrescu." She turned to him and smiled. She took one step- which a normal person would take three- and was infront of him. She rested her hand on his shoulder, making him tense, and leaned down.
"Come on Baelfire, it's time for breakfast." She started to push him as she walked behind him, leading him down the hall.
"Good morning my daughters." Alcina greeted. She and all her daughters were sitting at a round table filled with breakfast food. Baelfire stood beside Alcina. She was even taller than him sitting down.
"Good morning mother." They responded with a smile. Mora was cutting into her eggs. Daniela was drinking that weird drink her family loves, and Lilith was staring at Baelfire like prey.
"Good morning Mutt~" Lilith greeted Baelfire, too everyone's surprise. Baelfire wasn't used too this tone of voice.
"Good morning Mistress Lilith." He said, not making eye contact. Baelfire could feel Alcina raised a eyebrow in amusement. "Is there anything I could do for you?"
"Come here mutt~" He gulped. He hesitantly walked around Alcina too Lilith. She looked up at him with a smile and pointed her left index finger down. "Kneel~" He kneeled down on one knee and looked at the ground. He then felt her right hand cup his chin and tilted his head to were he could see her. "My dear Mutt. You can look into my eyes~" her right hand shifted to the top of his head, rubbing it down his hair. She leaned in close to Baelfire's face. He gulped as he closed his eyes, ready for anything. He heard something make a slicing noise.
Baelfire opened his eyes and saw Lilith smiling as she brought her right hand into view. Her left was holding a sickly dagger.
She cut his hair. There it was, trapped between her fingers. Baelfire forced himself not to gasp. He only touched around his head, feeling uneven locks of hair.
"There were go." Lilith said. "We won't have to worry about flees now." She laughed. The others began to laugh. All except Alcina. Baelfire stayed where he was. The laughing died down. Everyone was finished with their breakfast, except Baelfire.
"Come Baelfire." Alcina said, walking out of the room. Baelfire hurried after her. "Let's get to work."

The watcher of universe and stuff.
The most devastating thing to an eternal being must be boredom. If nothing can change you, how can you yourself change? Sometimes you have to learn that the hard way. I should point out that there are multiple lead characters and they will all have their own personalities and motivations. While the story will focus more on our MC Trey, you can expect multiple POV switches. If you do not like POV switches, this might not be for you. My first book. If anyone will ever read this, be so kind as to leave a comment. Even, if all you say is an insult. As long as I can improve this work by your comment, it's all fine. One thing’s for sure. I will keep writing as if my reader can handle curse words without curling into a little ball and repeatedly saying: "Leave my safe-space alone, you monster". Therefore, you can expect some profanity.

Zeroth Knight re: Dawn
Isekai, fantasy, with the core themes of Identity and Fate. Story contains a, mostly, lesbian cast. Updated twice a day. Evangeline Sayagawa makes the ultimate choice at the cost of the ultimate sacrifice: She decides to leave her world that she fought so hard to return to, and return to Arsea in hopes of saving everyone. Little was she aware of just how bad things had gotten. The world she was returning to was cast into chaos and on the precipice of being destroyed. She awakens in this new kind of Arsea, after having witness the end of a dear friend. The world now belonged to the monstrosities of old, the Beta, and their corrupted human warriors, the Eld. With her fake identity, that which defined her in this world, being stripped from her, she now has to navigate a darkness in which not even the women she loves recognize her. This is book 2 of the Evangeline Sayagawa "Zeroth Knight" story, with book 1 being found here. The first "chapter" posted here is a hyper-condensed version of volume/book 1, in case anyone needs a generalized refresher of events, or for those who wish to start with this book instead as it is faster paced and more action-packed than the first one. Suffice to say, but most of the details from book 1 are lost by doing this; however, enough of the more-important information is present to allow one to understand the general idea of what is going on. This book features a mostly lesbian cast and deals more so with fate and crises of identity more than anything else. However, there is much more action in this one than any of my other stories thus far and brings about the end of Evangeline Sayagawa's story arch... sort of. I have another story up, a short story drama with light yuri and supernatural themes: "Escape The KNIGHT" Share the story if you think it's good. And please rate some stars and leave reviews guys. It will help encourage other people to take a chance with the story and get to know this wonderful journey with us. Also, a friend has made a Discord for the "Zeroth Universe" if anyone wants to join and hang out to talk about the stories, theories, or just general fun chats with us! https://discord.gg/f3Bc4TR Follow me on Twitter @Ozefen0 to stay up to date on my stories and what have you.

As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
