Taehyung wakes up slowly. Everyone is watching. Taehyung slowly opens his eyes. Everyone smiles. "Hey Tae." Jungkook says while pressing a kiss on Taehyung's hand. Taehyung smiles. "Hey babe." He says. Only then does he notice that Jungkook is in a wheelchair. "Babe, what happened to you?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook swallows.
He could have expected that question. "Babe? Is something wrong?" Taehyung asks. He looks around the group. "Where is my mother?" He asks. "Tae, there's something I need to tell you." Jungkook says. "What's up babe?" Taehyung asks. He looks concerned.
Jungkook looks at Jin. Jin puts his hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "Tae, I was in a car accident with your mother." Jungkook says. Taehyung's eyes widen. "What?" He says. Jungkook nods. "I have a concussion and a broken ankle from the accident." Jungkook says.
"And my mother?" Taehyung asks. "I'm sorry, Tae. Your mother didn't survive the car accident." Jungkook says. "She died from her injuries." Jungkook says. Taehyung stares ahead of him in shock.
"I'm so sorry, Tae." Jungkook says. Taehyung lets go of Jungkook's hand. "Tae." Jungkook whispers. "Please go away." Taehyung says. "But." Jungkook says. "GO AWAY." Taehyung screams. Jungkook swallows.
"Jimin hyung, take me back to my room." Jungkook says. Jimin nods and walks over to Jungkook. Jungkook takes one last look at Taehyung before Jimin takes him back to his room.
"Do you think Taehyung is mad at me?" Jungkook asks. He looks at Jimin with tearful eyes. Jimin shakes his head. "No Kookie. Taehyung isn't mad at you." Jimin says. "Then why was he yelling at me?" Jungkook asks. "Because he was shocked by the news, Kookie." Jimin says.
"It's not nothing you told him." Jimin says. "I know." Jungkook says and sighs. "Give him some time." Jimin says. "That will be for the best." Jungkook says. Jimin nods.

Jungkook wakes up. He just slept for two hours. Since he was very tired. Then he sees Taehyung lying on the bed next to him. "Tae?" Jungkook says. Taehyung looks at Jungkook and smiles. "Hey babe. How are you feeling?" Taehyung says.
"I still feel tired." Jungkook says. Taehyung nods. "I get that." He says. "And you? How are you feeling?" Jungkook asks. "I feel okay." Taehyung says. "I still can't believe my mother is gone." Taehyung says. Jungkook looks guilty.
"I'm sorry Tae." Jungkook says. "For what?" Taehyung asks. "Your mother died because of me. If I hadn't talked to her, she would still be alive." Jungkook says. A tear rolls down his cheek.
"It's not your fault, babe." Taehyung says. "The car driver who ran at you is the one to blame." Taehyung says. He smiles sweetly at Jungkook. "It's okay, babe. It's really not your fault." Taehyung says. Jungkook calms down.
"I love you, Tae." Jungkook says. "I love you too, babe." Taehyung says. They smile at each other.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
