《Youth || Klaus Mikaelson》09

A lot has happened in the last couple of days. Uncle John is sadly back in town, don't know why. Rose died from a werewolf bite, which Damon wanted me nowhere by her since she was hallucinating. Caroline got kidnapped by werewolves, but Elijah's witch saved everyone. That lead to us girls having a sleepover.
Elena's phone starts ringing, which causes her to fall off the bed, and onto me. Youngest gets the air mattress, which hast was actually really comfortable.
"Ow!" I shout.
"Sorry!" Elena says, which we woke everyone up. Elena goes right outside Caroline's room to talk to whoever called her.
"Well, I'm up, and in pain." I complain but Caroline and Bonnie were trying to go back to sleep.
—
"Ok, so tell me this witch plan you've been cooking up." Caroline asks Bonnie. Elena went to the lake house with Stefan while we went to the grille.
"We still don't know the extent of what Elijah's up to. So I'm gonna ask Luka to tell me what he knows." Bonnie tells us.
"What makes you think he's gonna tell you?" I ask. "Cause isn't he on team Elijah?"
"I didn't say he was gonna have a choice." Bonnie smiles and so does Caroline, but her smile fades when she sees Matt. He just walks away.
"What's that about Care?" I ask Caroline.
"Uh, I don't know. I thought that we were... I don't know." Caroline says, getting uncomfortable.
—
"Tyler, if we can turn at will, that means we never have to turn at all, not if we don't want to." Werewolf named Jules explains.
"I'd never have to turn again?" Tyler asks.
"There's more. Stevie." A werewolf says looking at Stevie.
"Of those vamps are gearing up to break the curse, they must have also found the huntress." Stevie explains.
"The huntress?" Tyler asks.
"She's apart of this crazy bloodline. Rumor has it she's here in Mystic Falls and that she's a young one. And the fact that she's the one who can handle her curse, maybe. We're betting Masons hot vampire chick Kathy knows all about it."
"What bloodline?" Tyler asks.
"The Sommers bloodline." Jules says and Tyler's face goes to worried.

"What is it?" Stevie asks.
"I know her. Ashley Sommers. Cousins with the Gilbert's. I'm family friends with her." Tyler explains and they all look down. "You're not gonna hurt her, right?"
"The spell won't work if she's out of it. The only way to make sure the spell doesn't work for the vampires is if she's not breathing." Jules brutally says.
"No!" Tyler shouts right away. "You aren't killing her"
—
Me and Bonnie see Caroline talking with Matt, then Caroline.
"I feel bad that Matt's getting mad at her, but he doesn't the the full story." I say.
"Do you wish you can tell your mom about everything?" Bonnie asks.
"Yeah, but wouldn't it just make it worse?" I ask and Bonnie shrugs.
"Ash, Ash!" Tyler slightly shouts walking over to me and Bonnie.
"Is everything okay?" I ask.
"No. Ash you have to listen to me... ok?" Tyler asks and I nod.
"Of course, just tell me what happened." I say.
"The wolves want to break the curse. Well, they don't want the vampires breaking the curse and to stop that is eliminating someone who's needed. They want to kill you. Get out of here fast." Tyler says then walks away to Caroline.
"Words spreading about me." I say not being able to take deep long breaths.
"Ash, Ash everything's going to be ok." Bonnie says but I shake my head. She calls for Caroline to come over here.
"I can't breathe. I'm going to die." I say.
"You're having a panic attack. Ash, look at me. You're not gonna die. I'll drive you to the lake house where Stefan and Elena are. You'll be safe with them." Caroline explains.
"I'll— I'll be— safe?" I ask and Caroline nods. "Bonnie is it okay if I leave you here for a little?" Caroline asks.
"Of course. I'll find Jeremy and we'll set everything up. Ash if you need anything call me." Bonnie says.
—
We make it to the lake house. I felt bad for ruining Elena's little getaway with Stefan.
"Do you think they will be mad?" I ask.
"Not at all. Go in, I'll call you every hour, ok?" Caroline asks and I nod. I knock on the door and Elena opens it.

"Sorry to ruin your time with Stefan. But Tyler told me a group of werewolves are out to kill me and Caroline suggested I should be with you and Stefan."
"You're not ruining anything Ash. Come in, nobody's killing you anytime soon." Elena says which makes me smile.
"Hey, Ash?" Stefan says confused on why I was there.
"Tell us what happened." Elena says and i sit down at the island table.
"I was with Caroline and Bon at the grille, talking about Bonnie plan on how to find out more information. Caroline goes to talk to Matt, Tyler walks in. Talks to Caroline, then comes over to me and says his weird wolf friends want to kill me." I explain.
"Why?" Stefan asks.
"They don't want the vampires to break the curse so they don't have to not die from daylight. Apparently, the only way to do that is to eliminate someone who is needed. They knew about the huntress and found out it was me." I also explain.
"Well, you're handling it well." Stefan says.
"Oh. Yeah. I got a panic attack and have been scared since I got here. Not we'll butter better than before." I say and Elena tosses me a bag of goldfish and we keep talking, mainly to keep me from insanely freaking out.
—
"Where did Stefan go?" I ask Elena. I've been in the room I've always stayed in when we did our family trips to the lake house. Took a big nap.
"He went to get fire 15 minutes ago." Elena says, knowing it shouldn't take that long.
"I'll go check." I say walking to the door, which was open, letting the cold air in the house. "Stefan?" I call out, but no response. I knew something was wrong.
I grab the knife that was on the counter next to me, and my hand was shaking. I walk outside and see no one. "It doesn't take a thousand years to collect wood you know."
A man comes from behind and I instantly stab him with the knife. I knew he was a werewolf, and he came here for me. I run back inside and lock the door.
"Elena!" I scream and she comes running. "It was a werewolf. They came here because of me. They can't see you if they know you are the doppelgänger they will kill you too. I don't know what to do." I shout in fear.
"You're going to go upstairs and run to my moms old room. Then you are going to go into the closest and you'll see another opening, looks like a secret entrance way. You walk in that and you'll see vampire hunter weapons. Get one and be prepared. Ok? I'll distract him or them or whoever they are." Elena says and the door breaks. "Go. Now!" Elena shouts and I run up the stairs.
I go to my aunts old room, I see her closet and I see the weird entrance thing Elena was talking about. There was a whole racket of weapons. I take one of the crossbow and arrows.
"How do I fucking use this." I mumble to myself, confused.
"I can smell you." I hear the guy say, knowing he's after me and maybe Elena too.
I run out of the room with the crossbow and see the guy standing right in-front of me. He had the knife in his hand. My hands were shaking, but I was able to get the arrow in the bow and I shoot him, which barely did anything. I run down the stairs the fastest I could.
He runs down and almost stabs me, but Elena stakes him since that's the only thing she could find. We run out of the house and Stefan kills the wolf.
Stefan comforts Elena and I see Tyler out of the corner of my eyes. "Tyler?"
"I couldn't stop them." Tyler replies.
"It's okay, you warned me. And I fought him off with Elena's help." I calmly say.
"How did you know how to use the crossbow?" Elena asks.
"I didn't, but when it came down to it, I was able to load it and use it." I shrug and they both sigh.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

Voidsong (A NaNoWriMo 2018 winner)
Synopsys: The Empire thought humanity died, and forgot all about it. The Empire is mistaken. A Note From the Author: This story was written as a National Novel Writing Month 2018 entrant. As such, its entire 50,000+ word length was written between November 1, 2018 and November 31, 2018. Overall, I would consider this no more than a polished draft. In that vein, the chapters have no names, only numbers. Special thanks to Chronus on youtube for answering my questions on NATO radio procedures! My Apologies to the Finnish Language, which I have abused in (probably) unforgivable ways to create Twisted Empire names. If anyone is interested, break the names up by commas and toss them into your favorite translation program (I used Google Translate, and tried to avoid umlauts and other accents) for some semi bilingual boni. If I got something wrong (and I know I did… somewhere…) let me know over on reddit and I will see what I can do to fix the mistake. Lyrics, where included, are cited in footnotes.
