《Youth || Klaus Mikaelson》14

"Tonight is a full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." Elijah tells me, Elena, and Stefan.
"Elena said that the sun and moon curse is fake?" Stefan asks. "That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus."
"Klaus is a vampire born of a werwolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it... he'll be a true hybrid." Elijah explains.
"Then why are we letting him break the curse?" Damon asks walking in to the room. "We can kill Jim today. With Bonnie."
"No." Elena instantly says. "Bonnie can't use that much power without dying." Elena says.
"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon says which nobody found funny.
"It's not an option, Damon." Elena replies.
"All right. How do we break this curse?" Stefan asks.
"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know. A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each. The final part of the ritual, Klaus must drink the blood of the huntress, then the doppelgänger to the point of death."
"Then you're going to do something, right?" I ask and Elijah nods.
"This is an elixir that i acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation." Elijah explains.
"What about Ashley?" Stefan asks.
"I acquired another elixir that I would say is around 200 years old. Made by a witch, apparently the same bloodline of the one who placed the curse of being a Sommers huntress on the Sommers bloodline." Elijah explains.
"That's your plan?" Damon asks. "A magical witch potion with no expiration date? You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?"
"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelgänger's and the huntress are a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work." Elijah explains.
"I'll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn't work?" Damon asks me and Elena.
"Then I guess I'll just be dead." Elena replies.
"Ashley." Damon says, waiting for me to say something since I've been silent this whole time.
"I don't know, Damon. I believe it can work but I have no idea." I say which makes Damon walk away.
"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this?" Elena asks. "Does he have a werewolf?"
"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years. If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will." Elijah tells us.
It's been a couple of minutes and we hear Jenna screaming.
"Jenna, put the cross bow down, ok? It's me." We hear Alaric say.
"What's going on?" Elena asks.
"It's me, Elena, I swear, ok? He let me go. Klaus let me go." Alaric tells us.
"Prove it." Damon says.
"Ok, uh first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was about to—"
"Ok, it's him." Jenna interrupts Alaric.

"Why did he let you go?" Stefan asks Alaric.
"He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight." Alaric says, which makes me instantly walk away.
—
After Damon decides to be impulsive and give Elena vampire blood, he knocks on the door of the room I've been sleeping in.
"Let me take you somewhere." Damon says.
"It's not safe." I say, standing up.
"I'm taking you to the grille, not to freaking Canada. We're getting a nice lunch until everything today goes south." Damon says.
"What if Klaus is there?" I ask.
"Why would an ancient old vampire be hanging out where all teenagers go? Come on, I'll get to drink, you'll be able to have a burger, it's a win-win." Damon says.
"Fine." I say. We walk downstairs and I see my mom.
"Where are you going?" Jenna asks.
"Going to the grille, well, forced to go to the grille." I tell my mom.
"I want to give you something." My mom says handed me her necklace. "It was my moms, then her mom before that, I want you to have it."
I smile. "Thanks mom." I say hugging her.
—
We order from Mystic Grille. Damon a bourbon and me a burger, which is really good. Alaric comes and sits next to Damon.
"Why isn't she at the house?" Alaric asks.
"Elena with Stefan and little Sommers needs to have a good day today. Not stuck in a house she doesn't even normally live in. I'm trying not to screw up for a 2nd time today." Damon explains.
"Yeah, you did screw up." Alaric says and I nod. "I still don't think it's safe for her to be here. In town." Alaric says as I keep eating.
"Gentlemen? Ashley? Why so glum?" A guy walks next to me. A turn my head and see a guy who has dirty blond hair, greenish eyes, tall, looks older, and has an accent.
Damon groans in disgust. "Klaus, I presume." Damon says which makes me put down my burger.
"In the flesh. Thanks for the loaner, mate." He tells Alaric and I'm eying Damon because I did in fact tell him it wasn't a good idea.
"Any reason you stopped by to say hi?" Damon asks Klaus. My heart beat has already rapidly increased and my leg was shaking.
"I'm told you and your brother fancy my doppelgänger. Just thought I'd remind you to not do anything you'll regret." Klaus tells Damon.
"Ha. Thanks for your advice. I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement, by any chance, huh?" Damon asks and Klaus just laughs.
"You are kidding. He is kidding, right?" Klaus asks Alaric.
"No, not really." Alaric replies.
"I mean, come on, what's one month in the whole grand scheme of things?" Damon asks.
"Let me be clear— I have my vampire. I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow, don't screw it up. Oh, and one last thing I came for—" Klaus takes me and speed runs. He was gone with me in less than a second.

"Good job, Damon. Now Klaus has Ashley. Good going." Alaric says, pissed at Damon.
—
Klaus pushes me through the door to Alaric's loft.
"Why did you have to take me? You almost stabbing me twice now isn't enough for you?" I ask in a confident voice tone.
"I can hear your heart rate increasing from across the room." Klaus chuckles than puts his hand out to do whatever he's up to.
"Not going to work this time." I say.
"Ah— yes. The whole huntress torture thing I do. Let me test something out. I want you to stay in here until I tell you to do otherwise. Understand?" Klaus smirks and I nod.
Klaus walks out the door and Katherine looks at me. "Why aren't you on vervain, Ashley?" Katherine asks me.
"I forgot to take it." I say, sighing.
"I do find it weird how all he did was go to stab you. The other huntress got it 100 times worse. He is using charm to get to you, but I can tell he isn't faking it. Maybe it's different when it's the one, The Huntress, but I don't know. I'll make sure you get an answer before you die."
I roll my eyes. "Damon told me it will be fine to go to the grille and enjoy lunch, but I knew something would go wrong."
"Wait, why isn't Klaus seducing me to torture me until I crack?" I ask and Katherine shrugs.
"I don't know. But he doesn't No stuff for no reason." Katherine says.
"So, like you?" I asks and Katherine rolls her eyes, but stands up from seeing Alaric by the door.
"Look who's dumb enough to come back." Katherine says.
"Well, somebody had to invite him in. Damon. Would you like to, uh, come in?" Alaric says and Damon walks into the loft.
"Ash, let's go." Damon says. I go to walk out, but I won't walk any further. "Why aren't you coming?"
"I can't. I may of forgotten to take vervain this morning." I say and Damon sighs. Then he goes after Katherine.
"I gave you vervain, now I'm here to collect. I got it from here, Rick." Damon says and Alaric walks away. "I need to know where Klaus is keeping his werewolf."
"Why? What are you going to do?" Katherine asks Damon.
"Dead werewolf equals no ritual." Damon smirks.
"Damon, no. Klaus will kill you and everyone you've ever met. Not happening." Katherine says.
"Come on, you should like this delay plan. I'm going to buy you another month of your pathetic life." Damon says which makes me laugh.
"Right. Except that I'm not the vampire he's planning on sacrificing. He's got Caroline Forbes and Tyler Lockwood. Therefore, I'm in the clear." Katherine explains.
"What?" I shout, worried.
"And who's idea was that?" Damon asks walking towards Katherine.
"Hey, hey, hey. I'm just trying to survive long enough to get myself out of here." Katherine explains.
"What if I told you Elena had vampire blood in her system? Imagine how much fun that will be competing with Elena for Stefan's love for, I don't know, forever." Damon says.
"The tomb. He's got them in the tomb." Katherine tells us.
"Than you." Damon replies to Katherine. "And Ash, I really wish I was able to get you out of here but try to be safe."
"Be safe? There's no safe in any of this." I shout.
"True. Klaus didn't even bother to torture her. Think I figured out why." Katherine says.
"Then tell me." I say and Katherine smirks, shaking my head.
"Not how it works. But I will tell you it's the most dangerous thing that would happen if you weren't dying tonight." Katherine says which really concerned me. "Here, drink some of the vervain that's left in this." Katherine tosses me a half-filled container.
—
It has been a while and Klaus came back into the loft furrowing his eyebrows.
"Everything ok?" Katherine asks.
"What have you been doing?" Klaus asks Katherine.
"Making coffee. Do you want some?" Katherine asks and Klaus runs closer to her and grabs her by the neck.
"Tell me what you've been doing." Klaus compels her, but not knowing she's on vervain.
"Making coffee." Katherine says which makes Klaus let her breathe, basically. She begins to walk away, but Klaus says
"Wait. Take off your bracelet." Klaus demands and Katherine does. "Now. I want you... to walk over to the window and stand in the sunlight."
"But I'll burn." Katherine says
"You don't have a choice." Klaus says, and Katherine stands in the sunlight, screaming in pain. Klaus was smirking, not caring that this can kill her. "That's enough. Hmm, guess I was wrong. All right then, I need you to do something for me."
"What?" Katherine asks.
"I need you to call... what's her name. Oh, yeah— Jenna. Get her out of the house, where nobody needs to get invited." Klaus smirks at me.
"No. No, no, please don't." I shout.
"Call Jenna, now." Klaus compels Katherine, still not knowing about the vervain.
"Please, don't." I beg Katherine, but she still does.
"Katerina is compelled, love. She has no choice. Really unfortunate I don't have a backup vampire." Klaus jokes, not caring who he hurts.
I run to Katherine, well I start to run to Katherine to take her phone, but Klaus grabs my arms and uses his supernatural strength to keep me from running.
"Stop! Please, stop!" I shout, tears coming down my face. "No! No, no, no." I scream. "And let go of me!"
"She's a screamer." Klaus chuckles.
"She usually isn't. Very weird." Katherine says.
"Ok, time to go, love. It's dark out." Klaus says and I walk out of the loft, not voluntarily.
—
Klaus drives to the boarding house to get Elena and he makes Greta, the witch bring us to the location. We were walking and see Jenna.
"Jenna? Jenna, Jenna. Oh my god, no." Elena shouts as I just stand there.
"She's not dead, tell her Ashley." Greta says which makes Elena look at me.
"She's the vampire in the ritual. Katherine lured her out of the house." I tell Elena and Jenna gasp waking up, in which I comfort her until tonight goes to hell.

Dungeon Darwinism: Deepest Dungeon
Dungeons are a lot like sea turtles. They’re born in clutches of dozens, if not hundreds. But most of humanity only know about the dungeons that make it. Mark doesn’t know anything about dungeons. He isn’t from this world, and only as a victim of circumstance has he become an unwilling half of a dungeoncore. The other half is a Dark Lord. (Rewrite)
