《Youth || Klaus Mikaelson》19

Klaus woke Rebekah up, his sister, and she has missed 90 years. We are currently at a clothing store and she's trying in dresses. Elena has been texting me nonstop, but I can't answer her since Klaus forced me to stand by him every second of every minute.
"There has to be more to this dress." Rebekah says.
"There's not." Klaus replies and Rebekah walks out with a resting bitch face.
"So women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes, then. You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers." Rebekah says.
"You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing." Klaus replies.
"And what is this music?" Rebekah asks. "It sounds like a cable car accident."
"It's dance music." Stefan replies and Rebekah rolls her eyes.
"Are we done?" Klaus asks.
"Nope. Ashley what dresses do you wear?" Rebekah asks.
"Actually, I don't wear dresses." I say.
"Well, now you do. Come on, you're trying on a dress with me." Rebekah says and I was hoping Klaus would be his usual self and be controlling in what I do.
"Go ahead, Ashley." Klaus says, smirking mischievously.
"You're kidding, right. Please tell me you're joking." I ask and Klaus shakes his head.
"Not at all, love." Klaus replies.
"This is worse than killing me, actual torture." I say laughing and walking by Rebekah, pissed at her. I go in the changing room and see a summer dress, pink.
I walk out and see Stefan nod. "You got lucky." Stefan laughs at me, knowing I hate this. I go down the platform and walk past Stefan and Klaus.
"Where are you going?" Klaus asks.
"To leave this building before I explode." I say, angry and walk out the door. A bus passes and i see Katherine, which surprises me.
"No fucking way." I say walking towards her and she runs to me.
"What happened to you?" Katherine laughs.
"Rebekah happened. I actually wish Klaus would kill me again." I say.
"He won't." Klaus says and i furrow my eyebrows.
"What are you doing?" I hear Stefan ask.
"You two look chummy. Klaus your new bestie?" Katherine asks Stefan.
"You know, if he finds out you're in Chicago, you're dead." Stefan points out.
"Happy to know that you still care. So tell me if I'm wrong— Rebekah's necklace that Klaus is looking for... that's the necklace that you gave to Elena." Katherine says, which is true.
"Bye, Katherine." Stefan begins to walk away but Katherine stops him.
"Hey, hey. Wait. You're to to something. Tell me."
"They don't know where the necklace is. I just have to keep them from figuring it out. I have it all under control." Stefan explains

"Please tell me you have a better plan than that. You do. Come one, Stefan. You're not the diabolical type. Whatever you're planning, it's not gonna work." Katherine says.
"Well, if the most diabolical woman I know can't seem to figure it out, then I must be doing something right." Stefan smirks.
"Uh-huh. I forgot. You're bad now. Don't get too cocky. Klaus is smarter than you. He's smarter than everyone. And I've heard about that sister. Be careful. She'll ruin you." Katherine says as Stefan walks away.
"Feel bad for you Ashley. You have to deal with the three of them. Ask Klaus questions about being a huntress, you'll distract him while Stefan works on his plan— which will probably not work. And trust me when I tell you this, Klaus won't kill you. But the sister... watch out." Katherine says and I nod and walk away.
—
I walk to Gloria's bar and see Gloria, Klaus, Rebekah, and Stefan. It took me a while to go back in there, from being scared of getting hurt since they are all vampires.
"It's hard to find something when you don't have anything to go on." Gloria says, responding to Klaus.
"So use me." Rebekah says. "I only wore it for a thousand years." Rebekah walks over to Gloria.
"See? Now this one offers a solution. All right, give me your hand, sweetheart." Gloria responds.
"She's, uh, she's looking for the necklace, huh?" Stefan asks and Klaus nods. I sit on one of the stools next to Stefan.
"I can sense something. " Gloria says and starts chanting again then looks at me and Stefan. "I found it."
"So where is it?" Rebekah asks.
"It doesn't work like that, doll. I get images. There's a girl with her friends—"
"Yes, a dead girl with dead friends, if I don't get my necklace back." Rebekah interrupts Gloria.
"Well, I'll have to dice back in to get the details." Gloria replies.
"So dive." Klaus says, standing up.
"I need more time. And space. You're harshing my ju-ju." Gloria says
"We can wait." Klaus responds
"I'm sure you can. But that's not what I asked." Gloria says.
"Hey, you know, why don't we just come back later. I'm hungry anyway. I'll let you pick who we eat." Stefan walks away and the two follow him, which leaves me and Gloria.
Gloria starts chanting again and furrows her eyebrows.
"You know these girls, don't you?" Gloria asks. "A group of 3, 2 brunettes and a blonde."
I just shrug my shoulders.
"I know you do, both you and Stefan. If Klaus finds out he'll kill— well... Stefan." Gloria says and I sigh.

"Why does everyone keep saying Klaus won't kill me?" I ask.
"Because of history. Past centuries he's been all for torturing huntresses. With pain, but he hasn't even physically hurt you yet. But he has tortured you in a whole completely different way." Gloria explains.
"And what other aspects are there to being a huntress?" I ask.
"All I know is that it's more of a curse than a gift. You're overall stronger, but you feel pain at a greater level, it takes you longer to heal even when drinking vampire blood, and night terror are usually witch places dreams, and they are very extreme. You won't know it's not real until someone gets you out of it." Gloria explains.
"Oh, great." I say sarcastically.
"Don't worry, you can handle it. We all think you can handle it, which is a good thing." Gloria tells me then she looks behind me. "There you are."
"Thought you were resting." Stefan says.
"Well, now we both have a secret." Gloria says, obviously knowing the girls were Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline.
"What did you see?" Stefan asks, acting clueless.
"It's what I heard that's interesting. You know, the girls with the necklace, they were talking about you. Then they were talking about how scared they were for Ashley." Gloria explains.
"Yet you didn't tell Klaus. Why?" Stefan asks.
"Cause I wouldn't help that hybrid half-breed with anything. The necklace is a talisman from the original witch herself. I want it." Gloria says.
"Well, I'm sorry. I can't help you." Stefan begins to walk away.
"Don't be difficult. You know, I'd hate to have to tell Klaus what a liar his sidekick is." Gloria says, which makes Stefan run towards her with full speed, but Gloria gives him an aneurism, which Bonnie does too.
—
Gloria was hurting Stefan, holding him down in a table, and there was nothing I can do about it. Screaming isn't going to help.
"There we go." Gloria says, being able to reach Stefan's memories. "There's the girl with the necklace. You love her. You'd do anything for her. And you have. A lot of darkness, a lot of guilt. All to keep her away from Klaus. Why would he be interested in one girl?"
"Don't do this. Don't do this." Stefan says, in so much pain.
"She's the doppelgänger. She's supposed to be dead, and that's why Klaus can't make hybrids, isn't it?" Gloria asks. "So it's not just Ashley's fault, it's the doppelgänger's too."
"Well, this is creepy." Katherine says stabbing Gloria in the neck, which kills her. "Maybe you do need my help, after all." Katherine tells Stefan.
"I've been think about your diabolical plan." Katherine says.
"Oh. Do tell." Stefan responds.
"Well, you must know that Klaus is too paranoid to ever fully trust you. But the sister, she loves you like it was yesterday. She's the easier mark. But you can't just pretend to care, because Klaus will know better, so you do the opposite. You bond with him; make her feel left out. That will only make her want you more." Katherine explains.
"Oh! So you mean, I'm, uh, I'm taking a page out of the Katherine Pierce playbook." Stefan jokes, which makes me chuckle.
"The only question is why, Stefan?" Katherine asks. "I mean, I get it, you want to keep Klaus away from Mystic Falls, but... what else do you expect to get from it?"
"You know what's funny? You keep talking to me like I actually trust you enough to tell you anything." Stefan says.
"Oh, come on, Stefan, we're beyond that. I saved you from Hilda the high voodoo priestess."
"Ok. I knew them, back in the twenties. They were running from someone. Someone who scared them." Stefan responds to Katherine.
"The hunter. I heard stories about him centuries ago." Katherine mentions.
"Don't you want to know why an original vampire who can't be killed is afraid of a vampire hunter?" Stefan asks.
"If you're planning on making a move against Klaus... I want in."
"That's good. It's good to want things, Katherine." Stefan says.
"Fine. Do this alone. Ashley, let's go. I'm taking you home." Katherine says, which makes me furrow my eyebrows.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"You had to be around Stefan with no humanity and 2 original vampires. The fact you haven't got hurt yet is surprising. You need a break, and... I owe you one. I called your mom as you well know the night of the sacrifice." Katherine explains.
"Be safe." Stefan says while hugging me.
"No promises." I respond, walking out of the bar.
—
Katherine drops me off at my house, and it feels good to be back at Mystic Falls. I knock on the door, no answer. Knock again, no answer. I pound on the door harder.
"Damon! Go away!" I hear Elena shout.
"It's not Damon, now come open the door, it's hot out here." I shout and I hear footsteps approaching the door immediately.
The door opens and Elena hugs me immediately, with a big smile on your face.
"Thank god you're ok. How did you get home?" Elena asks.
"Katherine owed me one. The last 2 days have been hell. I'll tell you all about it." I say walking into the house, not worrying about what's going to happen after tonight.

The Monster Inside: The First Vampire
Despite appearances, there was once a time where monsters did not exist. Where peace and prosperity reigned over all life. But those sinful and demonic forces that had hidden themselves in the shadows just couldn't help themselves could they? They wanted a piece of that prosperity too. They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.
