"Hey Ash, so I did something you may hate." Elena says, walking up to me.

"What did you do?" I ask.

"I may of enrolled you for miss mystic falls." Elena said and i stare her down.

"How is that even possible?" I ask. "You have to be in 11th, I'm in 10th. You know I could just wait another year."

"I know, but since Mrs. Lockwood is the mayor, i got her to agree. Everyone wants to see you in a dress dancing with your date now. and your academic achievements are way over what they should be, you are more than qualified now." Elena explains.

"Fine, I still hate you for it." I tell her. "And what do you mean by my date?" I ask.

"I mean Klaus."

"Lena, I'm not the biggest fan of him right now." I complain.

"Well, suck it up. You have to go in for your interview. Caroline handled everything else for you, even your dress." Elena says and i forcely get up

"Hey, Ashley!" Carol shouts, which makes me walk over to her. "I bet you're wondering—"

"Why you would listen to Elena in making me do this, especially a year earlier?" I ask.

"People want to see you do this in our town. People like you, take it as a compliment. And we don't know how long normal events will last with supernatural existing." Carol tells me which makes me laugh.

"How did the interview go?" Caroline asks me.

"Everyone went good. I still don't get why I have to do this?" I ask Caroline.

"Because even though we all hate Klaus we love you two together—"

"Care, me and Klaus aren't together. I still think he's a jackass—"

"But Klaus holds you together. Tyler told me what he saw the other night. You're anger, you couldn't control it and Klaus was able to calm you down. It's your mom, isn't it?" Caroline asks. "That's what's stopping you."

"Jenna would want you to be happy, she said she wants you—"

"To have my epic love, but don't get pregnant as a teen like she did. I remember. But that was before I knew the boy was Klaus." I sigh. "She would be so mad at me if she knew the not I care for was the same one who killed her."

"Ash, if you don't go for it you'll regret it. Your mortal, you don't have eternity. Don't wait last minute." Elena says and they both walk away as they see Klaus walk over.

"Now, how did I know you would be here?" Klaus asks.

"I didn't even know I would be here till this morning." I joke.

"I was wondering what time I should pick you up tomorrow, considering you don't have a date yet and you need one." Klaus looks at me which makes me sigh.

"You can come for 2:30, when it starts, you aren't seeing my dress before the actual event." I say.

"Stubborn." Klaus says, which is true, and it made me laugh

"And if you really want, wear something pink on your suit." I smile walking away.

It was the next day, it was Miss Mystic Falls.

I walk into where all the dresses and makeup products are in a hoodie and sweats.

"Ashley!" Caroline shouts. "You came here like this?" Caroline asks

"I did my hair, and I picked out my dress." I say holding it up.

"Ashley, it's beautiful." Elena says.

"And different. The judges will like it. You're late so everyone else isn't in here since they are ready, put on your dress so I can do your makeup." Caroline says annoyed, which made me and Elena laugh.

"Do you think the slit is too much." I start to worry.

"I think it looks great. You have my vote." Damon comes in, when he's not suppose to.

"Get out, lurker." Caroline throws a brush, or something at him.

"Ouch. Where's professor Shane?" Damon asks.

"Check the judges' table." Caroline shouts the door on him, but Damon just opens it again.

"The slit is a dangerous move, but nobody else will have it, so it will make you stand out, and the slit don't even that bad" Damon finally walks away.

"Ash, you look stunning. If the judges don't like the slit, it's their fault. Even though Gracie Lockwood had a slit just like that and got laughed at—"

"Caroline!" Elena shouts. "You aren't helping, Ash, the only thing you have to worry about is if Klaus makes a move on you."

"And they know you're younger and that you have a different kind of style, you'll be ok." Caroline says and i smile.

"And it's a pageant, you're suppose to show off and so far everyone else is playing safe. Go and get in line, you've been wanting to do this since you were a kid." Elena smiles and they both walk away.

"Welcome to this years miss mystic falls." Carol announces. "We are so excited to showcase our most outstanding community leaders in the making."

I was in the back of the line and I didn't see Klaus. I could see Elena out there and I could tell she saw how worried I am.

"Hi, everyone. I'm Caroline Forbes. As the reigning miss mystic falls, it is my honor to introduce this year's miss mystic court!"

I was looking out and saw Elena smiling, and i saw Klaus walk fashionably late. He was wearing a pink flower and a pink tie with his suit. Damon saw him here and he got mad, since he didn't really know about me and Klaus that much.

Caroline was calling down names, which I kept zoning out.

"Ashley Sommers, accompanied by Klaus Mikaelson."Caroline says looking up at me and smiles. I walk down and then with Klaus to the dance floor. While walking down, me and Klaus glared at each other, but it was different, it was meaningful.

"Do you actually know what you're doing?" Klaus asks.

"Nope. Not one bit." I say which makes Klaus laugh.

"You look beautiful, by the way." Klaus says and i smile.

"I'm afraid the judges will hate my outfit and not gonna lie, I want to win." I say.

"You look fabulous and we are matching, how could they not pick you? And showing more skin then usual is never a bad thing." Klaus smirks.

"Klaus!"I slightly shout. We finally finish the dance and I see Elena and Caroline still watching, and Damon has his pissed face on.

"I'll be right back." I tell Klaus and walk up to Elena, in which she hugs me.

"You guys absolutely look amazing." Elena honestly says.

"Why are you with him?" Damon asks. "You're falling for him kiddo."

"I know Damon and don't try to stop me. I don't care what you think it's my life." I tell him.

"Fine. When he breaks your heart don't come crying to me." Damon walks away, which makes me roll my eyes.

"The judges were looking at you because of your slit though." Caroline mentions. "But you showed more skin than the others, and you went more above than the others. I mean a shiny pink is more pretty than a simple red."

I turn my head and see Klaus patiently waiting. "I'll be back." I walk away and they watch me walk towards Klaus.

"20 dollars he makes a move." Caroline says, starting a bet with Elena.

"20 dollars she'll make the move first. Like Damon said, she's falling for him and she's not ashamed or confused about it anymore."

"Okay, deal." Caroline says.

"What happened?" Klaus Asks me, sensing something happened.

"Let's just say Damon's not happy." I shrug it off, not wanting to talk about it, which Klaus saw.

We walk up to a little bench. It was at the Lockwood's, so their backyard is rich. We were talking about Elena's change into vampirism.

"To be honest, if we didn't get the cure it wouldn't be the end of the world. Obviously I want her to have the life she wants, but I'm just grateful Elena's here, vampire or not." I explain. "Would you ever take it?" I ask Klaus.

"Now, why would I want to cure myself of being the most powerful creature on the planet, hm?"

"So there's not one single moment in your whole life that you wanted to be human." I say, not believing him.

"How about you?" Klaus asks, totally ignoring my question. "If you were a vampire, would you ever take the cure?"

"I would immediately take it. The feeling of being mortal is nice, and plus I want a family one day, a kid of my own." I say.

Klaus sighs. "Life used to be so easy. Don't you miss the days of being..." Klaus reads off my application that I apparently handed in.

"Where did you get that?" I say annoyed, but I just laugh it off.

"So, your werewolf side, what are you going to do about it?" Klaus changes the subject.

"I don't know. O guess learn how to handle the bad parts of being a huntress first than deal with that, one step at a time." I say looking at him, and I knew what he was thinking.

"If you're about to bring up something about the other day I wouldn't." I say.

"Why not? Just go for it, go for what you want." Klaus says.

"I just— I imagine my mom in heaven screaming her ass off at me." I mention, and a tear comes down my face.

Klaus wipes off the tear from my face, then the next thing I know I place my lips onto his, which felt so right.

Caroline and Elena were talking and look at Ashley and Klaus.

"What are they talking about?" Elena asks.

"About what Ashley wants?" Caroline furrows her eyes. "What does that mean?"

They keep watching and then they see Ashley kiss Klaus.

"Ha! I was right!" Elena shouts.

"Damn it!" Caroline says giving Elena 20 dollars. "What do you think changes her mind?" Caroline asks.

"I think we did. I told her she would regret if she waited last minute. I'm glad she's happy." Elena says.

"Same... oh my god, she leaned into him. I know he's not a good person but they are adorable." Caroline smiles.

"Jeremy was telling me when we went to pick him up, Rose told him that Klaus is the best thing to happen to Ash. But I am taking a picture of this to blackmail her." Elena says and Carlo he laughs.

"And now the moment you've been waiting for. Caroline, would you do the honors?" Carol says, naming who miss mystic falls is.

"This year's miss mystic falls is... Ashley Sommers!" Caroline says and I look over to Elena and Caroline, Elena was holding the tiara.

Elena and Caroline both hug me, and Caroline places the tiara on my head.

"I have to go it's Jer." Elena tells me.

"Of course, go." I respond.

"And I told you going for it was a good idea." Elena says which makes me look back at Caroline.

"What did you guys see?" I ask.

"Everything. You kissed him!" Caroline shouts slightly.

"It felt right." I honestly tell Caroline. I walk down with Caroline and I see Hayley.

"Congrats girl!" Hayley hugs me and i smile. "And I saw you and Klaus."

"Ok, who else saw?" I ask.

"Have no idea, but you went for it, rightfully so." Hayley says and I look back, feeling Klaus' presence and i smile back.
