《Daminette Fanfic - Arranged Marriage Conflict: My Story》Chapter 26 - Bribery

Marinette's POV
It was nearing that time of the year. Christmas. Time flies, it's been two months since I met the guys. A lot has happened since then. I met Damian and his family, almost got engaged twice, found out my bro is gay, not to mention in a relationship with said family. And there's the factor of revealing my identity to the world as Nettie and MDC.
And...the grimoire which I can't seem to translate... Ugh, and the kwamis are helping as well but the potions and transformations are all gibberish to me and the kwamis can't remember their past lives. Progress is moving so slow and I'm here just whining about it, complaining. *knock knock*
Damian: Hey Mari, so I was hoping..-
Marinette: No and get out.
Damian: But I didn't even say anything yet.
Marinette: I don't need you to say anything, I could just look at your face. It's screaming attention.
Damian: I am not.
Marinette: Yes you are.
Damian: Anyways, wanna go out to take your mind off things?
I spun around to face my desk, away from the needy child. A few seconds later he wrapped his arms around my neck and kissed my cheeks. "Pretty please, habibti?" Oh yeah..and he's calling me that now too. "Let go of me right now, Damian. I have work to do." I spoke but he didn't listen, instead he spun my chair around, me now facing him.
Damian: C'mon, You wanna figure out the secrets and spells of the grimoire then you need a break. Don't stress yourself about it.
Marinette: I'm not stressing about it...
Damian: That's not what happened this morning. You were montaging your cooking and screeching your next song down in the studio.
Marinette: I have no recollection of such events.

Damian: Hey, that's my line.
I stared at him for a while before sighing. "Fine... But you can't bother me for the rest of the week..-" "Uh uh uh, I still have to make you fall for me." He's really persistent. "*sigh* If you must..." He celebrated for a second then picked me up and rushed me out of the room. "Wait You Idiot I'm Still In My Pajamas!" He stopped and took me back to my room. I shut the door in his face, locking him out.
*blushes* *smiles*
~~~~~
I got ready and wore one of my many designer dresses and a suitable disguise and went downstairs to see Damian waiting on one of the chairs. As soon as he saw me, he jumped to his feet, gently grasping my hand and kissed the back of it. "You ready?" I rolled my eyes, "Let's go, you're paying." "If I must habibti, I will."
He drove us to one of the biggest plazas in the city and damn was it packed. I mean it is that time of year. We FinALly got a park and got out heading towards the entrance. And the first place I needed to stop by was the café. I ordered my drink and was about to pay when Damian stopped me. "Didn't you say I have to pay?" "I was only kidding."
He was serious, he actually paid for it. I took another sip of my coffee while we walked around. "I still don't get why you paid for my drink. It wasn't even that expensive." He chuckled, patting my head, "It's what boyfriends do..-" "Don't get your hopes up." I glanced at him and he glanced back at me with a grin on his face. I immediately looked away, taking yet again another sip of my coffee.
And after that it was one shop, then another store, and of course a boutique and finally some lunch. How is this guy not tired? Girls were made for shopping but he's still on his feet like it's no big deal. Did he get some coffee too? I guess being a vigilante pays off. We stopped and sat down on a random bench.
Marinette: I still don't get why you're doing this for me.
Damian: People do crazy things when they're in love, Angel.
Marinette: Where did 'darling' and habibti go?
Damian: Oh, those sides of me are still here and accounted for. Don't worry. *winks*
I sighed and looked across the path to see a little girl with her parents...smiling... I got up and spoke. "I'm ready to go home now and the sun's setting." He looked at me confused, "You were fine just a second ago." "Well I'm just feeling tired now. I just want to leave, ok?" He nodded with a sigh picking up all the things he bought for me. And after that, we left.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Damian's POV
Marinette hadn't said anything during the entire ride home and she looked...sad. I knocked on her door but didn't hear anything. I knocked again and Coffaine opened it. "Jesus man, we can hear you knocking all the way down in the studio. Oh and Mari said she doesn't want to see anyone right now. Okay." And with that he closed the door in my face.
"Hey Snake Boy, Open the door right now or I kick it down, your choice!" I yelled. Moments later, the door opened once again but this time it was Tsurugi. "We'll sue you for such an offense and don't disturb our work or I'll cut your throat." She slammed the door in my face and I felt my blood boil. I ran down to the other entrance but it was locked from the inside.
I tried Marinette's door, it was locked. I checked her windows, closed shut, curtains drawn. I literally did the only thing I could.
~~~~~
Plagg: Hmm, I smell cheese... Ahh, my precious!
Damian: Hey Plagg, do me a favour, would you? *smirks*.
Plagg: Whatever might that be?
Damian: If you do it, I'll give you Camembert for the month. Deal?
Plagg: Like cheese is my life. Deal.
Damian: I just need you to bring me a particular kwami and its miraculous.
Plagg: Which one, my friend?
~~~~~~~~~~
A few minutes later, he came back with glasses and an angry horse in tow. "Here you are." "Thank you Plagg."
Kaalki: What is this about!?
Damian: Oh don't worry, I just need you for a little favor.
Kaalki: What could it possibly be if you had to have woken me up from my beauty sleep?
I put on the glasses and she glowed abruptly. "Ok, let's try out these powers." I turned to Plagg and he said, "The words are Kaalki, Full Gallop." She grit her teeth. I exclaimed, "Kaalki, Full Gallop!" I transformed into a superhero with a suit and everything in the theme of a horse. Plagg further said, "Her power is called 'Voyage'." I grinned. "Voyage!"
It opened and in front of me was Marinette on the other side of the portal. She was reading the grimoire and so I went over, grabbed her and pulled her over onto my side, the portal closing. "What The Hell Is Wrong With You!?"
