"He will be hard-pressed to catch up with the leaders." one of the announcers spoke. You watched Ani speed off on the device Shmi was holding. You started to feel very nervous and anxious. You tried to stay calm for the sake of Anakin, but your negative emotions was getting the best of you.
You let out a shaky breath when suddenly a sense of calmness overtook you.
Please stay calm, ____.
Anakin's voice echoed in your mind.
You were confused. Was that just you hearing things or did Anakin really say that to you? How was he able to?
You decided to ask him about it later and focus on the race and staying calm.
~
Anakin caught up with the other racers. He raced through the opening of a mountain range and zigzagged his way through the rocks. Anakin was oddly calm in this pod race. He always had some nervousness in previous ones, but in this one he was calm and collected. But, he did feel your anxiety.
He wasn't sure if it would work or if you would even feel his calmness, since you two only seemed to be able to feel each other's feelings when you both were near each other.
But he projected his calmness and hoped you were able to feel it.
Please stay calm, ___.
Anakin thought as he focused in on the race. He and the other racers exited out of that rock mountain range and was in an open dryland area with a bunch of boulders scattered around.
Anakin easily passed a few racers and was getting closer to the lead when they were entering a cave of some sorts. It was dark, but Anakin still could see. He was closing in on another racer, who just distracted by this and crashed into the roof of the cave. The explosion of the clash gave Anakin push that made his pod go even faster as he exited the cave and into another canyon area.

In the distance, Anakin hear some Tusken Raiders and they began to shoot at Anakin and the other races. Anakin dodged each and every shot that was fired at him.
~
You stared at the screen as the announcers informed everyone that were was Tusken Raiders that are camped out at the canyon. You remained calm, mostly because of Anakin's calmness, as you watched him dodge the Tusken Raider's attacks
You watched as the racers came back to the starting line. Sebulba was in first place, along with a bunch of other racers. But no Anakin. You knew he was close though, because you felt his presence get stronger.
"Look. Here he comes!" Padmé said. The announcers made a note that Anakin was quickly moving up the ranks of the race.
You smiled as you watched Anakin zoom by you all. He had a look of total concentration on his face. He has two more circuits to complete, but you had full faith in him.
~
Anakin rushed through the crowd and was back in the drylands. Anakin noticed some racers start to gang up on him and tried to hit him or take out on of his engines. He dodged each and every attack and even flipped over one of the attackers.
Anakin sped up and eventually got to about eighth place when he entered the canyon. He wasn't too far behind Sebulba as they exited the canyon and into another drylands with boulders. He watched as Sebulba attacked the second place racer and caused him to crash by tossing something into his engines.
Anakin was close behind them and had to weave and dodge all of the crash debris. He started to spin out of control from this. He gained some control back, but his engines were still swinging all over the place and one of the connecting hoses became loose. He pulled out his magnetic tool and it attached itself to the loose hose. Anakin quickly attached it back to the side and regain full control of his engines and pod again. Right before entering the next canyon. Anakin took this opportunity to sped up and pass other racers and before he knew it, he was in second place and gaining ground on Sebulba.

They passed through the cave and into the dangerous Tusken Raider area again, before coming back to the starting area to begin the final lap.
~
"He's making his way back!!" you exclaimed as you all tore your glazes away from the screen and watched Anakin race in.
"This is the start of the final lap! Sebulba is in the lead and followed closely by Skywalker!!" the announcers said as the crowd roared. Anakin left the starting area and you returned your glaze on the screen.
Anakin was right on Sebulba's tail as they entered the first canyon area again. Anakin was able to get right next to Sebulba. Anakin tried to pass him when Sebulba angrily started to hit Anakin's pod. This caused Anakin to lower to the ground and he took out a few of the posts that were stationed down there. Sebulba eventually forced Anakin to take the service ramp.
You gasped you watched Anakin crashed through the gate of the ramp and fly up and out of the canyon.
You blinked and suddenly it was like you were in the pod with Anakin, well more like you were seeing what Anakin was seeing. You watched Anakin's hands in his point of view as he pulled a few switches and pushed a few buttons. Anakin caused the engine to turn off before free falling back into the canyon. You saw as Anakin turned back on the engine at a certain point and got in front of Sebulba.
You blinked and suddenly you were back in the stand with everyone. You gasped and stumbled back a little. Qui-Gon caught you as he and Padmé looked at you with concern.
"I'm okay." you said as the announcers exclaimed that Anakin was in the lead now. You brought a hand to your hand and gently rubbed your temple. That was so weird. You saw what Anakin was seeing.
You were too deep in thought to noticed that Qui-Gon was staring at you with a knowing look.
~
Anakin knew Sebulba was right behind him as they exited the canyon. Sebulba activated the magnetics on his pod and it started to pull and shake Anakin's pod.
A part flew off of Anakin's pod and it started to beep and go crazy. It caught on fire and started to smoke like crazy.
Sebulba laughed as he flew over Anakin and took the lead again.
Anakin acted quick as he shut down the busted engine and connected the power of the working engine to the broke one. It stopped the smoking of the broken engine, but it wasn't turning back on and Anakin was losing speed. After a few more clicks, the engines connected and the broken one started to work again. Anakin pulled his handles and went as fast as he could to catch up to Sebulba again. Anakin caught up to Sebulba as they went through the cave again.
When they got out of the cave, Anakin was right behind him. Anakin was then on the side of Sebulba as they went through the drylands one last time. Sebulba started to hit Anakin on the side again. Their engines got tangled in the fighting. Anakin tried to shake Sebulba off as they kept pulling back and forth. Anakin quickly hit the boost and started to go faster than Sebulba. This cause Anakin to break away from him and tore off Sebulba's engine in the process. His pod started to explode as Sebulba crashed into a boulder and then into the ground.
~
You smiled and cheered with the crowd as Anakin crossed the finish line. Anakin had won the whole race for you all. Padmé gave you a hug as she cheered. You all rushed down to Anakin as a crowd started to form around him. Qui-Gon picked up Anakin and raised him to his shoulder as you smiled brightly at your friend.
"Mom! ____! I did it!!" Anakin cheered.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
