~In an interrogation room~
"You had a good life, kid. Top of your class, going to (name of collage), had a girlfriend. Then all of a sudden you drop off the face of the earth. A few boys in (name of city) turn themselves saying they accidently killed a boy named (M/n) (L/n). When they went back to get rid of the body, it was gone. Now, tell me how the hell you survived multiple shots and not even have scars?" And officer asked the boy in front of him.
The boy looked up slowly.
"Well, sir...They should have had a better aim."
~Flash back to Giles's Office~
Sam picked the lock to Giles office, the boys entered, ducking under police tape. Sam shined his flashlight on a pool of blood on the floor.
"Hey. Anthony Giles' body was found right about here. 'Throat slit so deep part of his spinal cord was visible.'" He read.
The older Winchester whistled. "What do you think? Vengeful spirit? Underlining vengeful?"
"He did see a woman at the foot of his bed, so maybe."
(M/n) picked up a sheet of paper lying on the desk.
"Hey, guys, look at this." He showed the Winchesters a paper with "danashulps" repeated in small font all over.
"Dana Shulps. A name?"
"Let's see what we can find."
Later the boys were searching a Dana Shulps, but got nothing.
"There's not a single mention of a Dana Shulps anywhere. There's not a D.Shulps. Or any other kind of friggin' Shulps." Dean said, frustrated.
"Great."
"What have you got?"
"Nothing. No Dana Shulps has ever lived or died in Baltimore in the last fifty years at least."

"Well that's fantastic." The demon in the corner mumbled.
"So what now?"
"Well, I think I'm pretty close to cracking Giles' password. Maybe there's something in his personal files, you know?"
"By close you mean..."
"Thirty minutes....maybe."
Dean glanced at his watch. "Awesome. So I guess I just get to, uh, hang out....Awesome." He muttered. Sam was typing, concentrating. Dean sat down, annoyed, and starts making clicking and mouth-fart noises.
"Dude, seriously." Sam looked up, (M/n) was trying not to laugh.
"All right, I'm gonna go talk to Karen again, see if she knows anything about this Dana Shulps."
~End of Flashback~
"Then Dean went back to Karen's place to check up on her. I mean, you know, she had been pretty upset earlier." Sam continued his story.
"So why didn't you go with him?"
"I just went back to the motel. How'd you know me and (M/n) were there?"
"We found the motel matchbook on your brother when we arrested him. Let's quit fooling around. Now you were with your brother the whole time you were in Baltimore. Why separate now? Because your brother left you. To go murder Karen."
"He didn't kill anyone." Sam said simply.
"I heard the 9-1-1 call! She sounded terrified. She said someone was in the house."
~With Dean~
Sheridan was sitting in the observation room from which he can see Dean, handcuffed to a table. Ballard entered the room.
"You getting anywhere with him?" She asked.
"No. Just a lot of wise-ass remarks. You?"
"Sam's story matches Dean's to the last detail."
"Have you heard anything about the other one?" The Man asked his partner.
"I heard he doesn't talk or makes fun of the officer."
"Hmmm. Well, these guys are good. I'll give 'em that."
"If we don't get Sam to flip, we have nothing but a lot of circumstantial evidence."

"Hey. We've got Dean at the crime scene with blood on his hands. Juries have convicted for less."
"Yeah, but where's the murder weapon? What's the motive?"
"Diana." She touched her face. "Do you have reasonable doubt? We keep leaning on these guys, one of them will tumble. And don't forget about St. Louis. I'm telling you. This Dean guy is our guy.
"I know Tony Giles was a friend of yours." Ballard said.
"Yeah. He was, he was a good friend."
"Look, and I know you want to clean this mess up quick. But come on, Tony knew a lot of criminal types, I mean, maybe we're just..."
"Criminal types? He was a defense lawyer, for god sakes, of course he knew criminal types."
"All right, lets get back at 'em."
"No, you know what? Let 'em stew in their juices for a bit. Come here." Sheridan pulled Ballard in for a kiss. Soon another came bursting in.
"Sure, (M/n) (L/n) is gone."
"What?! What do you mean he's gone?!"
"I don't know, I walked out and then came back in to him missing."
Sheridan marched into the room (M/n) was handcuffed in, the handcuffs were dangling from the table, swaying. The boy was gone.
"That sneaky son of a bitch..."
~Later in Dean's interrogation room~
Dean's head was down, he kept muttering to himself. There was a knock at the door, he looked up. There was a smiling middle-aged man who pokes his head in."
"Mr. Winchester?"
"Yeah."
"I'm Jeffrey Kraus. I'm with the public defender's office. I'm your lawyer."
"Oh. Thank god. I'm saved." As the man sat down he asked for paper and a pen.
Kraus handed over the items and Dean started writing stuff down. "Uh, well, the police haven't found a weapon yet. So that's good. But, uh, they got your prints. And literally blood on your hands. And with your police record....uh..." He noticed Dean wasn't paying attention. "Mr. Winchester? What are you goin?"
"I think it's an anagram."
"A what?"
"An anagram. Same letters, different words. Uh, do me a favor? See if you recognize any of these words, you know, local names, places, anything like that?"
"Do you understand how serious these charges are?"
"I'm handcuffed to a table. Yeah, I get it. Humor me. Take a quick look."
Kraus pulls the pad over to him.
"Well, S-U-P, I don't knw about that, but Ashland is a street name. Not far from here."
"A street." Dean takes the paper back and writes on it.
"Let's start with where you were the night Anthony Giles died."
"Can you get in to see my brother?"
"Mr. Winchester, you could be facing the death penalty here."
~Sam's room~
Sam was looking at the note Dean sent him.
"I hope that's meaningful. But I'd like to discuss your case now." Kraus said.
"Sure thing, Matlock."
"You two really are brothers, aren't you?" He sat down. "Now. As you know, the DA might be interested in..."There was a knock at the door, Ballard came in.
"We need you, with the other one." She said.
~Dean's room~
Others were crowded into the observation room outside where Dean is being held, across from his seat was a camera that was set up. Ballard and Kraus enter.
"Counselor? Your boy decided to confess.."
"Mr. Winchester? I'd advise against that strongly."
"Talk directly into the camera, first stating your name for the record."
Dean cleared his throat and leans forward. Looking into the camera.
"My name is Dean Winchester. I'm an Aquarius. I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, and frisky women. And I did not kill anyone. But I know who did. Or rather what did. Of course it cant be for sure, because our investigation was interrupted. But our working theory was that we're looking for some kind of vengeful spirit."
"Excuse me?" Ballard said.
"You know, Casper the bloodthirsty ghost?"

System Only Gives Me Useless Gifts
Li Yun grew up with a system that gave him useless gifts. He wanted a reward that could prove the existence of the system, but ended up with abstract gifts like culture. Without physical proof, he was stuck wondering whether his mind was truly sane, all the while dealing with the reality of life. How will the "useless" system help Li Yun navigate medical school, hospital politics, criminal cases, treasure hunting, farming and cooking? Author's Note: This is a slice-of-life novel about a doctor with a mission-type system. It's written as a faux modern Chinese novel, so there are many 1-off characters and episodic mini arcs. Just a bit of warning, the tone of the story is very different after the childhood arc and jumpy as it chronicles Li Yun's life. I'm trying to make it less apparent in the rewrite, but there are still a lot of time skips. RR is the rewrite version, no set schedule. See webnovel for OG. scribblehub is a combo of both . I recommend scribblehub since it has pictures. Copyrights of the novel and cover are owned by Chocomug. Novel is free to read and download for personal use, such as offline reading, only.
