~Winchester House, day~
Dean woke up on the couch to the sound of birds singing outside. He opened his eyes completely, sitting up, looking confused. He dialed his phone.
"Hey, it's me. I can't come to the pho-"
~Professors office~
"Well, I don't think I've seen you in my class before." The professor said.
"You kiddin' me? I love your lectures. You...You make learning fun." They both laughed.
"So. What can I do for you?"
"What can you tell me about Djinns?"
~Later~
Dean and the professor were standing over a bunch of books.
"Well, a lot of Muslims believed the Djinn are very real. And they're mentioned in the Koran-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. Get to the wish part."
"What about it?"
"Do you think they could really do it?"
"Um...Uh, no. No, I don't think they can 'really do it'. You understand these are mythic creatures?"
"Yeah. I know. I-I-I know. I know. But uh...I mean in the stories. You know, say you had a wish, uh. But you never even said it out loud. Like that, uh...that a loved one never died. Or that, uh, something awful never happened."
"Supposedly, yes. I mean they have godlike power. They can alter reality however they want. Past. Present. Future."
"Why would the Djinn do it? What, self-defense? Or maybe it's not really evil."
"Son?"
"Hm?"
"You been drinking?"
"Everybody keeps asking me that. But uh...No."
~Outside the campus~
Dean opened the trunk to the Impala and there was only old magazines and paper cups and a rag in it. No guns or weapons.
"Well, who'd'a thought, baby. We're civilians." Dean laughed.
He closed the trunk and looks over at the building. What he saw troubled him. It was (M/n). Dean started to cross the road, but a car screeched to a halt and honked the horn. The man looked at the car with his hands up and then looked back to see the boy was gone. He looked puzzled before he turned back to the Impala.

~Back at Mary's house~
Dean took a bite out of a big sandwich, grunting at the goodness.
"Mmm. Mmm. Mmm! This is the best sandwich ever!" Dean called out.
"Thank you." Mary said from the other room.
"I tried to get ahold of Sam earlier. Where, where, where is he?" The man asked.
"Oh, he'll be here soon." His mother said.
"Good. Dying to see him."
"Sweetie, I-I...Don't get me wrong. I am thrilled you are...hanging out here...all of a sudden." She stroked her oldest sons chin. "But uh...Shouldn't you be at work?"
"Work?"
"At the garage?"
"Right. The garage. Its where I work, yeah. No, I've got the day off." He snickered. "Good thing."
~Later~
Dean was looking out the window.
"That lawn looks like it could use some mowing." He said.
"You want to mow the lawn?"
"You kidding me? I'd love to mow the lawn."
"Knock yourself out. You'd think you'd never mowed a lawn in your life."
Dean shrugged, looked really happy. Later, he started the lawnmower. He started to mow, looking really happy, enjoying it. He was not very adapted to it.
~Later~
Dean was sitting on the steps of the porch, drinking a beer, feeling happy. A car drove up and parked at the curb.
"I don't believe it."
He got up to greet Sam and Jessica who were getting out of the car. Dean attacked Jessica ewith a hug while Sam took out the luggage.
"Jessica." Dean said.
"Agh! You're, uh...Good to see you too Dean. Cant' breathe, okay." He let her go.
"Sammy."
"Hey."
"Look at you. You're with Jessica, it's, I don't believe it." Dean laughed.
"Yeah."
"Where'd you guys come from?"
"We just flew in from...Califor-"
"California! Stanford. Huh? Law school, I bet."
Sam chuckled, somewhat disapprovingly. He motioned to the beer in Dean's hand. "I see you started off Mom's birthday with a bang, as usual."
"Wait. Mom's birthday, that's, that's today?"
"Yeah. Yeah, Dean. That's today. That's why we're here. Don't tell me you forgot."
"Wha..."
~Later~
Everyone was sitting at a table. Dean got served a plate with asparagus spears bound into an upright sheaf.

"Wow, that....looks awesome."
"All right. To mom." Sam raised his glass. "Happy birthday."
"Happy Birthday." Jessica said.
"Thank you." They all clanked glasses in a cheer.
"To mom." Dean watched Sam and Jessica kiss, he smiled.
"I was really worried about you last night." Carmen said to Dean.
"Oh, I'm...I'm good. I'm really good."
"Okay. What do you say, later we get you a cheeseburger?" She asked.
"Oh god yes. How did I end up with such a cool chick?"
"Just got low standards."
He laughed and kissed her.
"All right. Jess and I actually have another surprise for mom's birthday. Ah...You wanna tell em?"
"They're your family."
"All right."
"What? Tell me what?" Mary said in anticipation.
Sam held up Jess's left hand to show an engagement ring on her finger. Mary laughed, happy.
"Oh my god! That's so wonderful!"
She got up and gave Jess a hug, who also got up. Sam and Carmen got up, as Dean sat still.
"Congrats Sammy."
"Thanks."
"I'm really glad you're happy."
Sam looked a little puzzled at Dean's intensity. Dean looked over Sam's shoulder, and saw (M/n) again. Dean brushed past Sam. The demon was filthy this time. Dean passed a lot of people and when he passed the last person, (M/n) was gone. He looked around confused.
~Later~
The door opened and everyone came in.
"So, Dean, what was, uh...that was all that back at the restaurant?"
"Ah....I-I thought I saw someone. I'm sure it's nothing."
"Well, I had a lovely birthday. Thank you. Good night." Mary said.
Everyone said their good nights.
"Wait a second. Wait a second. Come on, it's not even nine o'clock yet. Let's go have a drink or something." Dean said.
"Yeah, maybe another time."
"Come on, man. Look at us. Huh? We both have beautiful women on out arms. You're engaged. Let's go celebrate."
There was an awkward silence.
"Guys, can you excuse us? I just want to talk to my brother for a sec." Sam said to the girls.
"Sure."
"Thanks."
"Come on, Carmen." The women leave the room and Sam turned to Dean.
"Come here." He walked to the other side of the living room. "What's gotten into you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean this whole warm, fuzzy ecstasy-trip thing."
"I'm just happy for you, Sammy."
"Yeah, right. That's another thing. Since when do you call me Sammy? Dean, com on. We don't talk outside of holidays." Sam said.
"We don't? ell, we should. I mean, you're my brother."
"You know, that's when you said when you snaked my ATM card, or when you bailed on my graduation, or when you hooked up with Rachel Nave."
"Who?"
"My prom date. On prom night."
"Yeah, that does kinda sound like me. Well, hey man, I'm sorry about all that." He walked towards Sam, who backed up.
"No that, look, that's all right man, I-I just...You know I'm not asking you to change. I-I just, uh, I don't know, I...guess we just don't really have anything in common, you know?"
Dean blinked.
~Later, night~
Dean was sitting on the sofa at his house, thinking, furrowed brows. Carmen offered him a beer.
"My favorite. I guess you know me pretty well."
"Fraid so. You all right?" The asked.
"Sammy and I.....We don't get along."
"Well, you don't really spend a lot of time together. I mean, I just think you don't know each other all that well."
"Hm."
"For the record: He doesn't know what he's missing."
"I can fix things with Sam. I can make it up to him. To everyone."
"Okay. What's gotten into you lately?"
"This isn't gonna make a lick of sense to you. But I kinda feel like I've been given a second chance. And I don't wanna waste it."
"You're right, that doesn't make any sense."
~later~
Dean was on the couch, putting his feet on the table, drinking beer and watching TV. After watching a boring channel, he changed it.
"And today marks the anniversary of the crash of United Britannia Flight 424." A reporter said. It got Dean attention as he leaned forward, listening."Indianapolis residents held a candlelight vigil in memory of the hundred and eight people who lost their lives..."
"No, no. I stopped that crash."

Dreamland
Dolores is a lucky girl with a high-level avatar in a very popular game. She did not level it up; she got it through some fortunate circumstances. She is not interested in fighting and levelling; all she wants is to have some fun and follow her own fantasies. If only there would not be all those idiots who intend to kill her, capture her, or simply use her. And those flaws in the game! Wait, what? Those pesky game characters now appear in the real world? And they can do magic? How did this happen? Adding to her troubles, her crush does not even look at her. As Dolores tries only to survive and hide between 'normal' people, she encounters stranger and stranger things that force her hand and, in the end, she has the answers to a lot of questions. It is a slow-developing story. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope to share it with you, dear reader if you also enjoy it. On the other hand, putting it in an acceptable form requires much work and energy. I intend to bring it to its end and not let it unfinished. I hate it when I encounter unfinished stories, so I understand the feeling. This is not a classical isekai story. There is travel between the two worlds, and the game world seems to be so very real... well, this is one plot of the story. This is not an MMORP game story. Part of the action happens inside a game world, but it is treated as a real world. Updates on a weekly basis, at least Monday and Friday, with additional bonus chapters as time and energy allow. Cover art: White Flower as A Dark Fairy by Darkrealmsmaiden Yolanda gracefully allowed me to use her dark fairy as cover. There are many more beautiful works of art to be discovered at her site: https://www.deviantart.com/darkrealmsmaiden Additional Grammar Trigger Warning: As a non-native speaker, I do my best. Unfortunately, this is not enough for people with a low tolerance for warped sentences and... they may want to skip the story :( Well, you have been warned :) I appreciate it when a reader points out a sentence that needs rework. That may spare a follow-up reader some pain and helps me understand where my English grammar problems are. * We thought we made the best game in Earth's history We thought we made the best interfaces ever seen We thought we made it - lifelike But it far exceeded our expectations. Dolores, I hope you're happy now. I hope you're alive now...
